Kparobo Arierhi did what I expected him to do as a Number 9. Play for the team. Use your pace, power and ball skills to give us a fighting chance. He didnt score yet again yesterday but I see the desire to step up in big moments for the team.

Kparobo's strong CF play flooring and getting past a highly rated Aston Villa CB prospect, Yeimar Mosquera gave us the shooting chance to get the penalty Maigana won. More of such plays and desire by Kparobo and the goals will surely come.

Nasiru Salihu - Has created the most chances at this tournament for the Flying Eagles (9)

Sani Suleiman - Has Created the 2nd most chances at this WC for the Flying Eagles ( 8 )

Odinaka Okoro is next with 6 chances created.

Ayuma, Maigana, and Amos Ochoche with 4.

Sani's playmaking from the left will be missed. Salihu Nasiru will need to work even better to link up more often with Kparobo Arierhi uptop.

Good analysis, but I think Kparobo is overrated. This conclusion is easy when you compare the team with Flying Eagles of yester years.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m):
He is not overrated. Kparobo earned his current standings horning his skills as the very young arrowhead of the Beyond Limits FA team that won the 2024 TCC league title & cup double and the 2024 Viareggio Cup (he scored 5 goals in that tournament plus the winner in the final).
He was TCC League top scorer with 22 goals as a 17yr old.
He has been in the picture as a young CF potential since 16 yrs at BLFA since 2023.
He also top scored again for BLFA at the 2024 Gothia Cup where they finished as Semifinalists (BLFA recently won the 2025 Gothia Cup but Kparobo had already left for Norway).

He also won us the Wafu B title with a brace vs Ghana. The lad is talented and not overrated. Still only 18 now. Give the kid time. He will come good.

Benjamin Frederick is eligible as well for the ongoing 2025 Fifa U20 WC but do you see him in action? Ofcourse not.

Franco Mastantuono of Real Madrid and Claudio Escheverri of Man City on loan at Leverkusen were part of the Argentine U20s during the South American qualifiers but are not here. Endrick nko? Eligible for Brazil but not here. Estevao Of Chelsea, same thing! Abi make Lamine Yamal also come play U20 naa😁

This goes to show that if in 2 yrs, Kparobo progresses in Europe as I expect he would, he wont be playing a 2nd U20 WC by 2027.

Different factors determine a player making back to back appearances at the U20 WC. It happened to Kun Aguero of Argentina who was still in Argentina as an independiate player in 2005 at 17 before he found his way to europe with Atletico Madrid B at 18 in 2006 and could play another U20 WC in 2007 as he was not yet a key central figure in Atletico Madrid's first team.
He went there, shone... and after that he exploded and Man City came calling. Rest is history.

So factors and circumstances differ and determine.

We need Rwanda to beat them...

If SA beats Zimbabwe, which they most likely will, we need Rwanda to be very motivated to beat them....
But let's hope Zimbabwe beat or draw with SA..

To be realistic, our chances of qualification is no longer in our hands...

I am not a fan of players repeating class at youth level. If Ariheri's profile rises to Super Eagles level in 2 years like Fredrick, he should not be called back to the flying Eagles.

BankyGee, this hailing of players name after scoring a goal. I only took notice because of Osimhen while in Napoli

Has it been happening before or did Napoli started it with Osimhen??
I took notice of it from Osimhen's time too. But it was rare then. Now almost every club does it.

Eric Chelle didn't call up 9 strikers for fun. There's definitely a game plan.

Secondly, Chelle is one coach who learns from his mistakes, and i haven't see him make same mistakes. Ekong as case study, so lets not all worry about 4 midfielders issues. Chelle is not dumb. cool

The guy is desperate for World cup just as we are... Feel free to come back to this post after qualifying for world cup. grin grin

Lol na this coach make us Dey use calculator na
Eritrea or so pulled out
The group with 5 teams
For equity sake, they have to deduct points from all the groups so that there’s fairness to determine 2nd position that would make playoff
So Nigeria can still have a chance
Cameroon go Dey that playoff too lol

i didn’t watch this match, i just woke up to read people post from the kick off to final whistle.

kind of people of this thread
1. “game play time insulters”: these set of people will always use there frustrating analysis during the course of play…they will always make those who are not watching to believe the boys are totally trasshh from start to probably when there’s a goal(equalizer or winner)
2. “the strange moniker poppers”: these set of newbies or probably oldtime ghost moders will just pop out from no where and be cursing at players, after match you wont ever see them again😂😂🤣

3. “the silent optimists who doesn’t wanna argue or engage with cr@zy pessimists and bad mouthers”:

These ones will wait till the final whistle and suddenly the thread narrative of how a match was played will just suddenly change..
“the boys had a good game, they were so unlucky to hit the woodwork thrice”.
“this team will produce like 4 to 5 super eagles players in future”
And im like did two different flying eagles play?🤣

Philip Otele grabbed a brace for FC Basel to post a comfortable 3-0 victory over home team Servette in Switzerland.

He has now netted four goals in the Swiss league.

Just before the break, the striker fired home from the near post to make it 2-0 for the visiting team.

He then completed his brace before the hour when he capitalised on a defensive mistake to shoot a low drive into the corner of the net.

Basel are third on the table with 15 points from eight games, a point behind leaders Thun.
