minfelix:Why will NFF allow the match to be played in SouthAfrica. Out of the 10 qualification matches. Southafrica has played 7 of them at home. How is that fair for god’s sake? How NFF allow this to happen is mind blogging |

I would watch the zimbabwe match with the expectation that nigeria beats lesotho. The result of that match is very important. Im not putting any hope. I will be bothered with the result of that game anyways so why not skip sofascore and just watch it straight. |

Honestly we have incompetent people in our FA. We would have protested that Zimbabwe and Lesotho must be excluded from being in the same group with SA |

It is worrisome that up to 60% of the "first-team" players in the Nigeria national team are "second-string" options for their respective clubs. A stark contrast to the 90s and even most part of the 2000s & early part of the 2010s. Coincidently, the 2010-decade marked the last time the Super Eagles lifted an AFCON trophy, posed a real threat, and somewhat dominated games on the continent. It is no coincidence that national teams often mirror the weight and relevance of their players at club level. While managers have a huge, huge role to play in teams, yet, managers are as good as the tools they work with—Ask the 'great' Carlo Ancelotti about his experience at Everton. Yes, on paper, this Nigerian team looks spoilt for choice. However, before you jump up joyfully to celebrate these mouth-watering names, ask yourself - "How many of these players command starting and regular shirts in their respective clubs?"—Your answer is the "main" reason the Nigerian team is currently underperforming. JohnBullMySon:This may not be fair Some teams may protest because if its not done equally throughout the tables Some second place teams may be moved to 3rd after deductions 🤷♂️ Maybe you can explain better pls I have no clue how FIFA would get it done though In my opinion the fair thing to do would be to deduct the points obtained from last placed teams in every group Do you believe we can still win the group ? I’m highly certain South Africa would get 4 points & not 6 in this window. But our GD is low |

BankyGee:Nope …if Dey win one ,draw one…Dey will be on 18points , and if we win d last two games ,we would be on 17points ..so Dey top d group automatically …and I believe Dts aw d group will end South Africa 🇿🇦 18points Nigeria 🇳🇬. 17points Rwanda 🇷🇼 15points Benin 🇧🇯 14points I predict dis table by game 10 |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lovewins: 6:24pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
BankyGee:Not sure this is exactly correct. South Africa needs to drop at least 3 points for us to have a chance at all at qualifying as group favourites. If South Africa draws a game for example, they finish top of the group with 18 points, one more than Nigeria should we win our last 2 games. So S.A needs to either lose a game or draw both games. The FIFA point deduction scenario isn't likely to apply to determine top of each groups, but should apply to determine best 4 teams in second place. |

minfelix:That will not happen in SA SA will most likely get a draw in that game against Rwanda We struggle to create chances since he’s been coach. Last time we scored 3 and beat a team silly was against Benin Republic under Eguavoen |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by QueenJazz(f): 6:48pm On Oct 06, 2025*. Modified: 7:06pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
Arizoner:First things first, Nigeria has to win her remaining two games against Benin and Lesotho. And with enough goals (at least 2 per game). This one is the most important. We MUST WIN BOTH GAMES. Benin is currently topping the table. If we beat them, they drop points and we tie with them, potentially beating them on goal difference to top the table, even if they win their second game. Meanwhile, South Africa has two games left. If we want to qualify directly, and not through the playoffs, we have to hope that South Africa doesn't win any of their next 2 games. 2 losses, 2 draws, or 1 draw and 1 loss for South Africa is enough for Nigeria to pull an upset and top the table, qualifying directly for the Mundial. If South Africa wins one game, we have to pray they lose the second, so that we can tie with them and potentially beat them on goal difference. That way, we still qualify directly. If South Africa gets points from BOTH of their next two games (2 wins, or 1 win and 1 draw), we have no choice but to settle for the playoffs. We won't be able to top the table, but we can finish second. If Nigeria draws or loses ANY of the next two matches, you can take everything I just said and throw it out the window. 😂 This is the simplest explanation I can give you. |
