My understanding of Obama healthcare is that premiums would forever keep going up. Anyone earning an income is the one paying into a basket for everyone to benefit. Something akin to socialism where the govt uses Other People's Money until it runs out.

The Covid pandemic was a godsend crisis for socialists and progressives. For example, they tried to use it to put ALL housing under government control.

First they used Covid as an excuse to shut down the economy and put everyone out of work. Many people got behind on rent.

Then the Congress Squad - I specifically remember Ilhan Omar was a major sponsor of the bill - pushed a law offering Federal subsidies to landlords to cover the rents.

The law would have required anyone taking the subsidy to abide by government dictated rental prices.

Thankfully the overwhelming majority of landlords saw the scheme. No landlord bothered to apply and renters who took forms to their landlords found no takers. It was a diabolical example of how subsidies are used to take control of an economy and enable government theft.

You're correct. Anyone who has been self employed or paid health insurance premiums out of their own pocket should know this. Before Obama Care, premiums were somewhat affordable, but prices increased astronomically when it was implemented. It would be informative if anyone who has paid out of pocket premiums could tell us the prices.

Obama Care is a terrible scheme, but healthcare is a terrible market and moral problem. It's the one thing socialists can justifiably hold onto to extract money from hard working people.

Something must pay for something.. every body has got to contribute fairly and squarely.

It now depends on what a nations priority is. Health care shouldn't be negotiated at any cost. Its peoples lives we are talking about.. I expect pro-lifers to understand these basics of being pro-life..
