I'm currently looking at our group table, the other group tables in the WCQ, the runner-ups table, and calculating our qualification chances, both directly and through the playoffs. We still have to win our last two games either way (for pride), but omo, to be honest, let's just prepare our mind for AFCON. Our probability of qualifying is less than 20%, even with the deduction of points from the runner-ups because of Eritrea. Too many mathematical variables are involved that we have absolutely no control over.

The game of football is unpredictable. But South Africa picking 6 points againt their regular customer Zimbabwe and Rwanda in South Africa is almost 99% loading. Except they decided to bottle things up. Rwanda will not be twice lucky.
Are they playing both games in SA? if yes let's just forgot the WC

Zimbabwe is yet to win a single match from the 8 matches played so far in the qualifiers. Every other team in our group has recorded at least one win against them, except the Super Eagles. I don't see them causing any upset against South Africa. The only hope if via the playoffs.
If we had beaten them, things would have been much better for us now. This is surely our worst WCQ performance since our participation.

4 things to expect from Chell
1. Usual formation i.e 442
2. Two strikers
3. Simon starts from the bench
4. Chukwueze from the middle and expect to see Iwobi in a different position, not CM.

add yours
This is the coach you all were hyping blindly.🥺

Looking at the results so far, I still blame our players. Only one win from four home games. Very poor.

For those still hoping Nigeria will qualify:

Besides our own games, these are all the WCQ games we need to pay attention to for our best chances of qualifying

DIRECT QUALIFICATION:

Benin vs Rwanda >>> If Benin wins this game, especially with enough goals, then we're as good as done, even if we beat them, because they'll likely surpass us in goals scored. Therefore, we have to hope they either draw or lose to Rwanda.

South Africa vs Zimbabwe >>> I honestly don't believe South Africa will lose this game, but if they lose or draw, it will favor us immensely.

South Africa vs Rwanda >>> Same as above, except I'm more confident in Rwanda than Zimbabwe.

THROUGH THE PLAYOFFS:

Lesotho vs Zimbabwe >> We need to pray for a win or draw for Lesotho. Zimbabwe must remain bottom for our best chances to qualify through the playoffs when the points are deducted from the runner-ups.

Sierra Leone vs Burkina Faso >>> Burkina Faso will be playing away. Let's hope they lose or draw to Sierra Leone here. A draw would be the best case scenario.

DR Congo vs Sudan >>> Same as above. DR Congo losing or drawing may favor us.

Cameroon vs Angola >>> Cameroon are our brothers in underperformance. Let's hope they bottle this one too.

Gambia vs Gabon >>> Gabon to lose or draw hopefully.

Mozambique vs Guinea >>> Mozambique are on form but we need Guinea to pull an upset.

Algeria vs Uganda >>> We need Algeria to win here. I don't think a draw would be enough.

Tunisia vs Namibia >>> Same as above. Tunisia must win.

Comoros vs Madagascar >>> best case scenario here would be a draw. But if any team must win, I hope it's Comoros.

Mali vs Madagascar >>> Same as above. Mali to win if draw isn't possible.

Off football, I wanna ask who is your Nigeria's greatest female athlete of all time.In America, they easily mention names like Serena Williams , Jackie kersee etc.

For me number one will be Mary Onyali... But Chioma' Ajuwa's gold medal will put her in many people's first place. And then Mercy Udoh Colin was great. Blessing Oborodudu ,was great , to be the greatest female athlete is debateale . Asisat Oshoala will retire as one of the greats but then she will be in third place for me from her discipline behind Perpetual Nwokocha. Blessing Okagbare , Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume were forces to recon with particularly Tobi's world record for Nigeria. I don't think aside Tobi we boast any world record .

In table Tennis Funkè Oshonsike has been to over 6 Olympics, which is great but she is not a global force to recon with.
Conversations like this without a predetermined metric ends up being subjective leading to unending arguments. First, you have to define what "greatness" is and what objective metrics make for greatness. It is on that bases once can have conversations and reach a conclusion that will be largely indisputable particularly because you're judging a large pool of athletes across different sports.

For example, you listed Oshoala as one of the greats but consider her 3rd not even across all sports but in her discipline (football) pegging Nwokocha and I believe Akide above her. There's no objective metrics for greatness available that will have Oshoala as no 2 or 3 in football as far as Nigeria is concerned, None. Not Mercy Akide or Perpetual Nwokocha (who my the way is my favourite Super Falcons player) comes ahead of Oshoala. Even if you combine both Mercy's and Perpetua's accomplishment as players, Oshoala still beats them hands down. Does that mean Oshoala is the better player? No. But when you judge primarily on metrics considered consensus for sporting success, there's no way Oshoala won't be your answer. So you see, you let your bias get in the way of objectivity, and this happened because terms weren't defined from the very beginning.

11 points, 2 wins, 1 loss and 5 draws. I can excuse the draws against South Africa, they are upcoming potential rivals. It's the 2 Zimbabwe draws and 1 Lesotho draw that boils my blood the most. Winning those easy games would have meant we would be on 17 points, 3 above South Africa and benin. A win against Lesotho would put us in 20 points. Hopefully all will be put to rest by Tuesday and we can focus on afcon prep in November. Very disgraceful and disappointing campaign.

Why will NFF allow the match to be played in SouthAfrica. Out of the 10 qualification matches. Southafrica has played 7 of them at home. How is that fair for god’s sake? How NFF allow this to happen is mind blogging
I have this feeling there is foul play somewhere and CAF president is involved.

I'm just curious, how much more do we have to take from these charlatans before we reach a state of emergency and decide to boycott Nigerian sports, or better yet, hit the streets in protest?

Is the sport sector this shambolic?
