Millionaires are not the only ones in UK, where most millionaires are land owners who can not flee anywhere because they can not take the land with them. But I don't expect you to know that.

Africans "selling" Africans (which was not even always the case) does NOT justify the wanton cruelty they faced when they crossed the Atlantic

That aspect is ON them and they have to take responsibility for the cruelty they meted on these black ppl.

While I am not a fan of cash reparations because in my personal opinion, even IF the West are reaping fruits of the chattel slavery, those who are currently in charge were not responsible for the slavery, and slavery was largely private business (govt was only complicit)

But again, it becomes a hard argument to make when these same govts compensated the slave owners for "losing" the slaves

BTW, for those of you who did sociology as a course in university, you will understand that chattel slavery (the type practiced by Anglo Saxons and friends) was fundamentally different from slavery practiced anywhere else in the world

Because in West Africa, prior to European contact, we didn't consider each other as the same people

Awori and Egba people were not the same ppl, the same way the barbarian germania tribes were on each other necks prior to when the Romans showed at their doorstep and they had to unite and become one force to fight them off

So if for example Dahomey catches an Awori person and sell, you cannot say that he sold his "people" because back then , they were not seen as their ppl

Most slaves sold were prisoners of war
