Once any list is made and I don't see majority SE and SS(Edo and Delta precisely) names, then SW and a sprinkle of boys from Benue and Jos I don't get my hopes high.

No disrespect to the ones from North, but I know where our football talents are.

A few years from now, one or two from this same set will emerge and and most monikers here will be amnesiac by then to recall when they called each and everyone of them rubbish.

The trend on this thread is the same every time.

A youth team starts doing well and everyone rushes in claiming to have a good knowledge of the team but the moment they falter, they go mute.

A team does well, and everyone knows every player and calls all talents.

But a team does not do well and the whole team is condemned.

This is how Benjamin Frederick was not taken so seriously on this thread until 2 yrs on, he got a Super Eagles call up and then everyone is taking notice.

I believe in seeing the talent before others catch on.

Are you saying the 2013 and 2015 set were over aged?
Iheanacho and Osimen's set.

How we stylishly excuse NFF ineptitude is funny. Everyone forgets that MRI was equally used in 2013 and 2015.
2 things

1 our football has stagnated while the competition has elevated

Tell me what we’re good at except jam body and kick and follow

2 the opponents aren’t skinny kids anymore these are full fledged young adults well drilled as a team in a system that works it’s kinda hard to beat that

At the end of the day it’s a business if you know the backings some of these players have you’ll know that until they sign a deal abroad you can usurp them

You think making the team is free and fair lol
Think again
Its not business.

If its business then southern Nigerians will fill the team.

Don’t bother yourself Abdullateef of Warri wolves was dropped from this u-20 squad deemed surplus to requirements

Same player that single handledly dragged Warri wolves from the nlo to super 8 to NPFL

Wasn’t good enough for u-20

And there’s a former wiki tourist player top 9 wonderson was his name
He was banging goals like a gunslinger still wasn’t as selected
Now he plays in Israel 🇮🇱

That's a big fat lie. Fredrick was always rated as the shining light in our defense along with the other boy from Benue State.

Just rinse repeat mediocrity while hoping they get by luck sometimes so they can take glory..
NFF is the major cause of the decline in our football, i won't blame the coaches or players, we have dullards running our football hence the decline in every aspect of soccer in nigeria today

...but seriously what kills today's game for u20 is d lack of tactical nous from d coach. Mistakes are part of d game but what really baffles me is dat Nigeria had five corner kicks in d first half and none of dem translate into goal(s) is depressingly worrisome.

In this game of high magnitude doesn't d coach drills them on how to score from set pieces? And why do Nigerian team find it difficult to score from set pieces?
Thats what makes me question what they do in training. Look at ordinary trapping of ball that we brag about saying no Naija pikin wey nor fit trap ball. This is not on players. this is on the NFF and whoever they deemed to the the handler.

The saddest and scariest part of this whole thing is that even this U-20 team that are losing 4-0 still look more proactive, creative, slick and sharper on the ball than our senior Super Eagles that want to play on Friday.

Think about that for a second.

The team is not rubbish you can’t expect us to be gifted technically as the argentines

Our selling point over the years in youth tournaments was over Age and physical growth

But now everyone has matched up to us physically and we can’t bully them anymore and they’re technically better so what do you expect
The above is not why we arent doin well. You cant assemble players one month to a major tourney and say they should make magic happen. As how na? I can promise you that the Argentine team are probably the same set of their immediate past U17 team. So there is understanding

Because u20 team is much younger than the SE.

Add Tella, Akinsamiro, Federick, Onyedika to the SE starting 11 and you will see a completely different energetic team.

Seems like some people work for the NFF here. Even though the boys don't have the talent, but they still showed a more spirited performance than the super eagles.

Lol. 2007 set lost 4-0 to Chile in extra time in the Quarter finals. From that set, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Brown Ideye and Elderson Echiejile made it.

2009... Odion Ighalo, Lukman Haruna, Obiora Nwankwo, Sone Aluko

2011... Ahmed Musa (was already a Super Eagle), Uche Nwofor

2013... Ndidi, Moses Simon, Uche Agbo

Etc, Etc... there will always be someone.

Nobody from this team will make it.

What shall a country gain if you qualified for AFCON and could not qualify for world cup. Gradually Nigeria is dropping out of top 10 in Africa. Maybe when that happens the incompetent people in NFF will no longer have a place to hide. Everything na time. Those that are working hard should keep working. Their time will come.

98% of deltans don’t know the name of the current captain of Warri wolves

Lol south is cast abeg we love soccer but not willing to properly invest and propel our boys

This is the best point so far this evening.

In 2013 and 2015, the team camped for a very long time, played so many friendlies with local clubs. There was even a mini tournament involving all the cadre of the national team(with exception of the main super eagle)

The result was a well coordinated play at the world cup culminating in lifting the trophy in style

Now NFF doesn't want to spend money not work but wants to reap where they did not sow.
