Hello… Good evening,

I recently got admission into a Federal University in Brazil to start March 2026. No scholarship

That means I have to take care of my bills and other expenses. I need guidance on which skill which fetch me more money - I am a teacher but I have basic skills in sewing, I’m thinking of doing advanced level before coming to Brazil or learn data analytics via YouTube and other learning platforms.

Also, will the school inform me on how to go about visa processing? I don’t know how that works or how much it will cost.

Please I’d appreciate any advice I can get. Thank you!

Omo this thread has been dead for a while. I hope someone can respond to this. Today makes it a week that my wife was invited for interview but we are yet to get a feedback. How long does it normally take after the interview to get a feedback. Also, the status is showing "mailed or dropped off". Please is this normal cos what i have been seeing here is that it usually shows "under review" before it's approved or denied. I will appreciate an helpful response

Hello, in order for it not to be "DEAD", kindly answer the question about the interview questions someone asked you. I think every one can benefit from it. Thanks

Try tracking your application with this link: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros
Click on check status.... it will show you if it's still under review, that is if you still need it

If not and you have received a response, how long did the whole process take from when you sent your original documents? Thanks in advance

Greetings everyone,

Please oo, we submitted our visit application in June, and we sent hard copies after they requested for them. (btw my wife plans to give birth there in Nov).

15 working days later, they requested for another 3-months Bank statement for my visit visa, and I sent it to them.

Its been 35-40 working days after I sent the bank statements, no update on my portal.

Is it advisable to email them about my application.

Or just wait till they respond?

My flight schedule is late October, wife due date is November.

Please advise me.
Hello,
Did you finally get a response ??

Hello people, please I’ve gone through the thread but with the changing rules there’s an answer I’ve not gotten, it’s how to pay for visa fees, now they pay in dollars, how do I pay please?
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by dvs511: 10:26pm On Oct 25, 2025
Buy dollar from BDC people, go to UBA bank, fill the teller and pay.

Anyone who is serious about migrating to Brazil should focus on study visa and don't waste time and resources on applying for tourist visa.

How many weeks pregnant are you?
Apply for a tourist visa. The earlier the better, because the processing time seem to be long. Don’t wait until you’re even 5 months gone. Good thing is they usually give a one year visa.
Here’s the link to apply
https://ec-lagos.itamaraty.gov.br/

Application period might take up to 4 months, just get the right documents and proof of fund.
You can say you want to attend the next RIO carnival.

Goodluck.

Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Tiamiyu23: 12:07pm On Nov 08, 2025
You should check your passport if you visa is there.... Also did they send you email when the document was about to be sent back to you?
For more clarification you should check your visa status on thier website.
