You are funny...

Who are you to tell another fan whether to keep hope alive or not?

Keep keeping your hopes alive and allow others lose their hope in peace.

Does the game play of our current Eagles look like something to keep hope alive for?

Abeg face your front and allow others to face their own fronts too
This is the heart of the matter. SE don't inspire hope or confidence. I say when Morocco was winning Falcons 2-0, I sat down and continued watching because the girls were fighting.

SE are limp. Fans put themselves under pressure. The players are breezy and nonchalant. Pass give your brother to score. Mbanu. I must score.

Does not change the fact.
It changes the fact

If the current northerners in the U20 couldn't flourish at the world cup, .... Then your supposed Southerners cum East are supposed to show them how its done in the current SE

Heck, the current Southerners and Easterners in the SE can't even do well in Africa, can't even qualify to the world cup.

Whereas the supposed Northerners got to their own World Cup and only lost at the Quarter finals

Always remember that, he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. wink

For those still hoping Nigeria will qualify:

Besides our own games, these are all the WCQ games we need to pay attention to for our best chances of qualifying

DIRECT QUALIFICATION:

Benin vs Rwanda >>> If Benin wins this game, especially with enough goals, then we're as good as done, even if we beat them, because they'll likely surpass us in goals scored. Therefore, we have to hope they either draw or lose to Rwanda.

South Africa vs Zimbabwe >>> I honestly don't believe South Africa will lose this game, but if they lose or draw, it will favor us immensely.

South Africa vs Rwanda >>> Same as above, except I'm more confident in Rwanda than Zimbabwe.

THROUGH THE PLAYOFFS:

Lesotho vs Zimbabwe >> We need to pray for a win or draw for Lesotho. Zimbabwe must remain bottom for our best chances to qualify through the playoffs when the points are deducted from the runner-ups.

Sierra Leone vs Burkina Faso >>> Burkina Faso will be playing away. Let's hope they lose or draw to Sierra Leone here. A draw would be the best case scenario.

DR Congo vs Sudan >>> Same as above. DR Congo losing or drawing may favor us.

Cameroon vs Angola >>> Cameroon are our brothers in underperformance. Let's hope they bottle this one too.

Gambia vs Gabon >>> Gabon to lose or draw hopefully.

Mozambique vs Guinea >>> Mozambique are on form but we need Guinea to pull an upset.

Algeria vs Uganda >>> We need Algeria to win here. I don't think a draw would be enough.

Tunisia vs Namibia >>> Same as above. Tunisia must win.

Comoros vs Madagascar >>> best case scenario here would be a draw. But if any team must win, I hope it's Comoros.

Mali vs Madagascar >>> Same as above. Mali to win if draw isn't possible.
Guinea doing the Lord's work.

To be honest, I already know Nigeria will beat Lesotho. I'm sure of that one. Whether we'll beat them convincingly is another issue, but we'll surely win.

The match with Benin is the real deal breaker.

Nigeria can qualify as first or second as long they win the remaining two games….

Nigeria has never been this lucky, maybe we are just destined to go to world cups…

Leave NFF aside if the boys fumble this against Lesotho and Benin, it’s all on them

My point goes beyond the specific failure of the u-20 or the SE and leads to the overarching point that using pattern recognition, it is easy to see that our best sportmen including players in the national teams are from the south.

And to invalidate your point, I can show you many times when SE was populated by southies and they succeeded while you on the other hand would not be able to show me as many times when our teams were dominated by northerners and we succeeded.

that is true. Even if you remove the 6 points, winning the next two matches will enable them to qualify.

There is still a slight chance that we'll qualify right.

Either through direct qualification or via play off ?

This is good. The results obtained from the bottom team will not count, even the goals scored, I guess. Burkina Faso, for example, scored a total of 10 goals against Djibouti (the bottom placed team in group A).
Apart from the 6 points, will the goals scored also be removed?

Yes. Goals will be removed to rank the teams on equal basis.

If it's CAF alone I doubt they would have taken this route. That 2017 AFCON miss was a robbery.

Bold of us to think that if Nigeria goes the best loser route, the guys are capable of defeating other best losers from other continents to qualify.

I'm really pained because of guys like Osimhen, Aina and Lookman, but my confidence in this team is zero.

Goals were also deducted along with the point for SA, so yeah, I think they will also deduct goals

one of This two nations (Madagascar and Burkina Faso) will be a sacrificial lamb falling out for Nigerian to sneak into play off spot
1. Madagascar on 19points travels to Mali for last match
A loss for them 19-6 = 13pts
A draw for them 20-6= 14pts

2. Burkina Faso on 18pts welcomes Ethiopia on last match
A win for them 21-6 = 15pts
A draw for them 19 - 6 = 13pts

Uganda on 18pts travels to Algeria for last match
A loss for them 18- 6 = 12
A draw for them 19-6 = 13

Also DRC on 16 pts with 2matches to go are still a threat

we just need to gather that 17pts and hope Zim gets rooted to the bottom of the group…

we are sneaking into that play off spot

the playoff is likely to be

Gabon( a sure banker for them)

Cameroon (a sure banker for them)

DRC (they still have 2games to play away against Togo and home vs Sudan)

Nigeria/Madagascar/Burkina faso/Uganda/Namibia(one these 4 will fight for the last slot)

algeria has qualified. Will they want to finish on a high note or just play their second fiddle team to see off the campaign.
