Nope, any win gets us to equal points 17pts . We need more goals. If we can run them riot, then its a chance. but SA still stands a chance of topping. All they need is a win however slim. If however the Eritrea Clause is implemented, we may find out that the 1-1 draw against Zim is what gets us a second place.... Lets keep watching
The Eritrea issue doesn’t have any impact within our group it doesn’t matter. Where it will matter is if we finish second and they want to rank us with other second place team. You get?

We dont need to run Benin Riot, we just need to beat them, once its by 2 goals difference we will top them, if its just 1 we need to avoid cards as disciplanry records will be checked

Disciplinary records will be checked
Not yet this is where the problem comes in.

If we beat them by a lone goal, we must keep a clean sheet.

If we beat them 2-1, we qualify.
If we beat them 3-2, they qualify.

The question now becomes, does H2H count before GD?
Because we'd have both scored 1 goal at home, and we'd be tied on goal difference, goals scored, goals scored away from home etc
Goals For Will be used next

I thought Benin won us 2-1 in Ivory Coast..

Meaning if we beat them on our home 1-0, we have an away goal, the same away goal that Ghana used to remove us 2022 when we drew 1-1 at home.

Have the rules changed?

They have a 2 point goal difference lead on us.

A one goal win means we still are down one point.

A two goal win will tie that GD and give us a better head to head result, as well as bettering their goals scored record.

Unless I'm very mistaken, we need to win by two clear goals.
if we beat them by one goal,we will be level on goal difference

Ekong shouldn't be getting callups again after next match. Balogun was not this bad before we moved h8m on.
What did Ekong do wrong in this match? We just like to pile on soft targets. Was he responsible for the goal that was scored?

We lost 2-1 away to benin ... You're confusing me .....so if Nigeria win 1-0 we will be tied on +4 and next is H2H which will be 2-2 but Nigeria have the edge with away goal rule

Nah only you check table well, even 1-0 Nigeria will qualify cos we would be on same goals scored and conceded as long as SA didn't win.
If we beat them by 1 goal, We will top them based on Disciplinary records ooo. Because everything will be tied

We still have a scores to settle with SouthAfrica

Does H2H count BEFORE goal difference? That's the question.
Goal difference first. If tied. then head to head.

We need to win Benin Republic by two goals. and that's a tall ask for this team because

1. We struggle to score goals

2. Benin is in a dominant position and have everything to play for, so will literally die to get the result on Tuesday.

Also equally important, SA must lose or play a draw against Rwanda.

I am tired. Even my tired is tired at this point.

Depends on the tie breaker CAF or FIFA adopt

COOL10:
Where are those people who said that Benin would never beat Rwanda?

It's like you people don't know this man:

Some call him Papa Rohr, others call him Daddy Gernot Rohr, while I call him Odogwu Gernot Rohr. This man knows how to make his haters swallow their words. Under him we never had to do Permutations and Combinations to qualify. I remember when some said that the only reason he kept on qualifying us for tournaments with ease was because of our so called "Superstars" 🤣.

They chased him away and now he's about to take a team of relatively unknown players from Benin to the World Cup, while our so called Superstars are suffering and busy praying for others to lose their matches. Una no dey shame!!! 🤣

Life indeed has a way of replying certain characters. 🤣
You don't know the value of what you have until you lose it.

Papa Rohr, Na you biko 😄💪💪💥😎

Nwabali, Ekong keep putting us in unnecessary pressure.

I called in the first minute that nwabali was looking too casual, and like a prophet he almost cost us our World Cup today.

Is as if nobody is seeing Rwanda has nothing to play for anymore. Why would they go and die for Nigeria in South Africa, when we actually crucified ourself.
Did Zimbabwe have anything to play for today? Even with a man down, they held SA to a draw.

it will remain same as it was with Ghana vs Nigeria.

If we win 1-0, we have the game number goals difference and points, then we qualify.

Na nwabali cause this.

In all this, South Africa must not win.

A 1-0 win will take us above them. We'll be tied on everything except goals scored away from home, which we edge.

and truly we have moved on or evidently we have moved backwards, retrogressively
our error and we should learn from it
don't just sack a coach who has never failed to qualify you for the WC and always doing it with games to spare
surely we have not learnt from our mistakes, NFF is scrap

semid4lyfe:
Baba., Rohr was sacked over two years ago, and rightly so.

Move on. Coaches come coaches go. Na their work be that

As I said sometime ago, people have selective amnesia when it comes to Rorh. NGR vs Sierra leone.. 4-4 at home O! The coach that made losing to minnows a norm in Nigeria is Gernot Rohr. Till now we never recover. Our own na to qualify and not ask how we dey play. Na so so 1 game to spare we go dey hear
In fact it's under Rohr that we were defanged by minnows.

Now it's a little tricky kinda...

First of, Thank you to Zimbabwe... Una over do.

I still keep hope UP.

But I'd Stan Benin and even buy their Jersey and even allow them to beat us in Uyo, if south Africa will defeat Rwanda...

I tire for this rohr issue but that doesn’t take the fact that there was no calculator or tension during qualifiers then and now that same man is about to take Benin republic to World Cup we still day find beautiful sexy football lol
That has a lot to do with the team Rohr inherited! There was a Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, John Obi Mikel, Ahmed Musa in his hey days, There was Onazi too. Those were the bedrock of the 2013 AFCON winning team. So in that time all things being equal, we should be dispactching teams with ease.
