The dodo already sounds defeated. After making foolish comments some weeks back. God abeg infuse Rwanda with bad belle energy let them kick the sand over these people's coffin.

Thank God say that their star boy for back don comot. Rwanda suppose mend them wetin no good for that backline.

Tuesday's match against Benin will be bloody. I see a 2:2 draw or 3:2 win for Nigeria. The only problem is South Africa's match against Rwanda. They'll do all they can to win because they're playing at home. Even Moetsepe the President of CAF (who's a South African) may be present in the stadium that day. Wuruwuru go plenty that day. Everything points to a South African victory.

This is why I hate Permutations and Combinations. I don't joke with my peace of mind. grin
God forbid o. I reject 3-2 for us o. If Benin score a single goal against us - just one - then we're in big trouble.

Everybody is now humble. The people that use to pray for Nigeria to loose, now pray for Nigeria to win. Such is life

The group stands as

Benin, 17 points, +5 GD
South Africa, 15 points +3 GD
Nigeria, 14 points +3 GD

Benin vs Nigeria ended 2 - 1 in Ivory Coast.

A 1 - 0 scoreline for us in Uyo pegs Benin GD to +4, and increases ours to +4 as well., and will see us go through provided SA doesn't win against Rwanda.

The tie between Nigeria and Benin will then be decided based on away goals scored in the matches between both teams. Nigeria scored 1 goal away, and Benin did not score any at Uyo so we go through.

In case of a 2 - 1 victory, Nigeria & Benin will be tied on GD and goals scored away, and the disciplinary record of the two teams (team with less cards) will then be used as the tie breaker to decide the group topper, and qualifying team

Currently Benin republic has amassed 11 yellow cards, 0 red card.

Nigeria has 13 yellow cards, 0 red cards.

So we have to win by a 2 goals margin or 1 nil on Tuesday, and also ensure Benin accumulates more cards while we don't get any bookings.

Of course. our victory will be moot and useless if S/Africa defeats Rwanda on Tuesday. So, its still advantage SA because whats the probability of lightning striking twice in the same place?

By 6.45pm on Tuesday, we go know if we dey go world cup or not.
Edit: If South Africa loses or draws against Rwanda, any 1 goal victory (2-1, 3-2, 4-3 etc) will see us go through because we'd be tied on goal difference with Benin Republic and the tie breaker will be:

Most goals scored away from home in all the group matches between Nigeria and Benin.

Currently, Nigeria has scored 6 away goals while Benin Republic has 4 away goals.

3-2 means Benin will qualify on away goals. We need a win with clean sheet or 2 goals difference like 3-1 or 4-2.

Thanks Basco for the highlights didn't want to give myself BP watching the live match.

First of Nwabali WHAT THE F**K!?. Think he needs some bench time to cure his touching brain.

Osimhen unlucky not to get a goal. One of the few players in the squad who embodies a true elite spirit. If only for his sake I pray we qualify.

Benjamin didn't show much in the highlights but I heard he impressed. Future captain material.

Akor took his goal very well. Another good striking option.

Ekong great servant but shouldn't be starting games.

All told by some serious case of serendipity we are still in it.

All to play for on Sunday.

Loved how Victor led the team talk at the end.

You're right. Just checked the tiebreaker again.
If goal difference is same, most goals in group matches comes next.
After that is matches between both teams.

So any single goal margin is enough provided South Africa doesn't win.
Edit: this information is wrong

Rwanda don't have anything to play for again. I won't be surprised if South Africa beats them 4:1 or 5:0. Zimbabwe only gave South Africa a tough test because it was a derby. I may be wrong but I feel South Africa will find Rwanda easier to beat than Zimbabwe.

I see us scoring two early goals in the first half. The players will be excited, Nigerians will be celebrating only for Benin to make it 2:1 before the first half ends. In the second half, we'll probably make it 3:1 and then Benin will score a late second goal thereby making it 3:2 OR Benin will make it 2:2 and the match ends that way.

That match will be one of a kind. cheesy

Hmmm. Knowing our team under Eric Chelle so far, I'm not expecting anything tangible coming out of the first half.

It's in the second half that the entire drama will start.

Nope.

At the bolded is for only the matches between Nigeria and Benin not against other group opponents.

2:1 will be equal. Discipline comes next.

3:2 or more single goal margin: Benin will have more away goals in matches between us.
I just re-read the tie+break criteria. and I think you're right.

Anyways make Rwanda do us a favour and make we win by 1-0 scoreline or a 2 goals margin.

Knowing Gernot rohr well, he is going to set up his team to defend and counter against us.
Probably in his preferred 4-2-3-1 set up....I really hope chelle gets it right, especially the timing of his substitutions

Managing senior national teams, aside Eguavoen that has afcon bronze medal, what has the rest names achieved ahead of Chelle
Amuneke couldn’t cross Afcon group stage
Siasia couldn’t qualify super eagles to Afcon in 2012 and 2017…..see at this point ehhn both Chelle oo,Amuneke oo,Siasia oo never achieve anything with senior national teams make una just leave all of them….out of thw 3 of them sef Chelle has advanced to the quarterfinals stage of Afcon
When you see a Siasia team you can easily see the coaches input

Even when they lose you can thomps up the team for an impressive display

But Eric Chelle even the win is too scrapple
A team that bost some of the world best attack

Osimhen, Ademola, Boniface etc
Can't find the back of the net

Yet they are playing pressing game

Check the like time out when Eguaveon lead Nigéria vs Benin it was a free flowing attack and the result resounding 3-0

Same Benin Republic same coach Genot rohr
I hope Eric Chelle can repeat what Eguaveon did to qualify nigeria

Once Okoye finishes serving his ban his brain go reset.

Karlovich:
grin When he looks at the other goalkeepers, one is a bench warmer in Israel while the other is in Tanzania this is what you get.

Top teams always get 3 quality goalkeepers every call up but for us it's always different. Same way we had Taminu starting back to back games for us until he signed for a mediocre team in England.

I'm sure if we manage to qualify Ahmed Musa and a few carpenters will be recalled.

It's same we here that glamour for a substantive coach to be employed after we failed to Tunisia and Ghana. Hope you remember.

As much as I love Siasia's style, he is not good under pressure. We lost to Eqgyt in a last group match under him. We lost our(I think drew) to Gambia in Abuja in a final group match too that made us not to qualify. Chelle is managing this pressure better

I think the game against Benin we had already or were almost qualified. The scenario is different. There is always so much pressure when you're far behind in the table

In 2010 we beat Kenya 3:2 away from home in the final match but it wasnt an easy victory. Luckily the other team that was hoping the group lost or drew at home.

You may have a point but I think Tuesday will be different. We'll see a lot of determination from the boys that day and I feel it'll lead to two early goals for us. The only problem is that we're too error prone, especially towards the end of each half. That match will be a high intensity game and our players will gas out quickly, and I feel that's where Benin will capitalize to make it 2:2 or 3:2

see all this things no b 1+1, lets stop all this comparison….SiaSia vs Egypt in Kaduna 2017 afcon qualifiers was a poor one, we tend to celebrate the past when we see the present looking not so good….i tell you super eagles vs Guinea last afconq match here in abuja was a very poor match…
Eguavoen vs Rwanda here in Abuja was a very poor one, with our free flowing football and free role given to chukwuleze that day we still ended up loosing…there is no way u will play a smooth football in the cagey position we are, there is no way we play and win well in this tight corner we are…Eric Chelle is winning and we have small hope of qualifying

Meanwhile, Eric Chelle has to be ruthless. Players must realize they risk losing their places if dem eff up.

First choice goalie no be Stanley Nwabali birth right. He has become proud, complacent and started making school boy errors. Uzoho no do pass lke this.

Make Eric Chelle begin dey scout other keepers. I suggest he should invite Arthur Okonkwo of Wrexham for the AFCON. Hin highlights no bad at all.

Tiebreakers

In the round-robin and tournament formats, the tiebreaker criteria are as follows (Regulations Article 11.5):[21]

1. Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches (3 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss)

2. Greatest goal differential in all group matches

3. Most goals scored in all group matches

Should two or more teams still have equal rank after criteria 1–3 are applied, then the following criteria are used:

1. Greatest number of points obtained in all matches amongst the concerned teams

2. Greatest goal differential in all matches amongst the concerned teams

3. Most goals scored in all matches amongst the concerned teams

4. Most goals scored away from home in all matches amongst the concerned teams

The best team conduct score using the following table:
◾First yellow card: –1 point
◾Second yellow card/indirect red card: –3 points
◾Direct red card: –4 points
◾Yellow card and direct red card: –5 points

Only one score will be applied to any player or team official in any match, e.g. a player who receives a second yellow card will only have –3 points applied and not –4 (–1 for the first and –3 for the second).

5. Drawing of lots by FIFA

Guys just looking at our group and I think winning by 1-0 will be enough hear me out.

If we win by that margin then we finish dead level with Benin on Goals Scored (12), Goals Conceded (cool, with Goal difference of 4 for both teams.

When that happens they H2H plus disciplinary record comes into play which still favours Nigeria.

Yes winning with extra goals will still be nice.

However all will be of no consequence if SA beats Rwanda.

I pray we're fortunate on Tuesday.

Currently, Nigeria has scored 6 away goals while Benin Republic has 4 away goals.
If true, wouldn't a 3-2 win for Nigeria mean Benin moves to 6 goals scored away, which then ties Benin with Nigeria at 6 goals each and a 4-3 win for Nigeria mean Benin scored 7 goals away, one more than Nigeria and by implication qualify ahead of us.

I think only a 2-1 win works in the scenario you cited.

After watching this highlight, I realized some people watch football with agenda.

How can they say Lookman played poorly in this match despite creating so many chances, huh?

Abi my eyes no correct? They are even blaming him for reacting to that bad tackle that led to the yellow card. Seriously!!! If na Osimhen react like that it is all good, abi!!?

Even Simon who caused the penalty was also not spared. I can't understand some people's mindset ooo.

The other day one dey claim say best players are from some certain areas. Who tell you Dat one?

Even North get quality talent but religion and culture comes first. Wetin you dey yan?
