You and Lagos ehhh, haabaa. To you, Lagos is next Paris or Tokyo. Small thing Lagos this Lagos that, FYI you are seeing people there in Lagos because Lagos was a former capital of the nation. They did not just wake up one morning and start migrating, duties and jobs called. Not as if you are even from Lagos sef.

Meanwhile, that road in question is a federal government road, that's Onitsha/Owerri road, FG is to blame

Gully erosion is one of the things affecting us badly in Anambra.

The other is bad governance. From Peter Obi to Obiano.

Soludo is trying his best but he needs to step up.

With due respect that is why I say that celebrating a governor because he doesn’t borrow is borne out of ignorance. All Nigerian states are so challenged they can’t afford to not borrow. IGR should be spent on obpverheads and servicing infrastructure and developmental loans not capital expenditure. You will never have enough money to finance infrastructure via IGR. Capital expenditure especially critical long term ones should be financed by borrowing and serviced with IGR.

You have to borrow and commit a portion of IGR as debt service for each project. That way you can finance multiple infrastructure project at once.

You don’t take 10b IGR increase and use it to build one road, you use it to repay the loans to build 10 roads at once.

Mr./Ms. First-to-attack ,
The Lagos you are making mouth with is also experiencing its own environmental problem e.g flooding at Lekki and other Island region of Lagos .
It will likely get worse in the coming years, as coastal states grapple with climate change that increases the ocean level ,thus, creating more flooding.
Just stop the tribalistic rant and share to prevent the loss of lives and properties .

The Governor have been receiving Ecological Funds from the Federal Government and from International agencies since the turn of Democracy in 1999, to combat the flood and erosion menace that is eating up iboland

Ask these pilfering Governors, including the Agulu frau.dstar what they have done with the money and they won't be able to give account for it
Dance somewhere else boy.

I think there are already effective ways to tackle it by simply planting trees.
You plant trees to build roads?

I know for a fact that they did. Just Google “Anambra erosion research”. You will be amazed how much research was done by our universities.
I don't need to google it.
I already know it will be some low-tier student-funded research where the student, due to unavailability of funds, cooks values and possibly even publishes.

I am not talking about that kind of research. So, I'm not googling it.

When people complain, you point them in the right direction, they refuse to go and look. It is clear they just want to complain.

I am talking about research funded by federal and international agencies, including UN, World bank and carried out by professors.

But clearly you prefer to remain unknowledgeable because it suits your agenda.

Nothing concern me, I am not from Anambra. I just happened to be secondary school friends with the son of one of the many professors who have carried out well funded research on the subject so I know.

If I tell you nigerian professors used to get local and foreign research grants running into $1m in those days you may be shocked.

Carry on as you are!
