It is better to be a sincere benchwarmer in church than to be fornicating while still being active and faithful as an usher, pastor, choir member, protocol, prayer warrior, greeters, in sanitation unit e.t.c.

You shouldn't be an active fornicator and an active worker in church. And it is wrong to have a steady sugar daddy while still being committed in church work.

Spend quality time in not deceiving yourself.

Serve God, but do it in the right way.
Re: Fornicating And Still Serving In Church Faithfully? by immortalcrown(m): 1:31pm On Oct 12, 2025
1.
"Fornicating" and "serving God faithfully" cannot be in one sentence unless you are not talking about the same person.

2.
Struggling with sin does not mean one should withdraw from serving God. While struggling to abstain from sin, don't hesitate to do your best in serving God. You can be fornicating because you are yet to be able to resist sexual urge. But it does not mean that you should not do whatever you can do to the glory of God.

3.
A fornicator that works in the church while admitting that fornication is a sin is actually trying to serve God faithfully. But a fornicator that works in the church and claims that fornication is not a sin is a hypocrite.

If someone fornicates by mistake, it is different from someone fornicating as a lifestyle. God is not forcing anyone to serve Him faithfully in church work, and He doesnt want pollution done to His works.
You may do things low-key as a normal member. But to be committed to deep service/church work while living in fornication is wrong.
Re: Fornicating And Still Serving In Church Faithfully? by WeirdAlien: 3:51pm On Oct 12, 2025
Apply the same yardstick for someone who holds bitterness, malice, lies, envy, self-pity, etc. and see if there would be anyone left serving in church.

Sin is sin, everyone is a sinner. That is what Jesus came to make us understand. Not us practising self-righteousness by thinking sexual impurity is the only "bad sin". Every sin is equally bad.

I never said that fornication is good. But you are taking the topic out of context. God does not say that certain actions should make some people to be prohibited from working in the Church. This is why the Bible, instead of saying that certain people should not come to God or call God's name, simply says that not all who call the God's name or do miracle in God's name will enter heaven. You are going contrary to that scriptural statement when you say that it is wrong for fornicators to work in the church. Your logic is the same as the mentality of those who tried to condemn Jesus Christ for eating in the house of sinners. Are you wiser than God? Or, are you more correct than the Bible?

The church will look clean when cleaned, whether the cleaning was done by a righteous person or by a sinner. This is also why God does not withdraw his gift from a sinner. If you have the gift of healing, that gift will continue to be active in you even if you start fornicating. But that gift will not give your soul salvation when you are fornicating. So, fornication cannot stop the gift from working but can stop your salvation. This applies to every form of sin, not only fornication.

Living in sin can prevent salvation of the soul but does not prevent the sinner from working in the church.

Righteousness is about salvation of the soul. The Bible does not say anywhere that a sinner should not be allowed to work in the church. So, what exactly is your point?

A sinner may work in the church casually when general announcement is made for church members, such as coming to do general church sanitation, assisting with general physical labours for members; but to be a dedicated worker, climbing the pulpit as a dedicated worker, being in the choir as a dedicated worker, ushering as a dedicated worker, teaching and preaching as a dedicated worker, being in church department as a dedicated worker; yet living consistently as a fornicator is not good.

Where are you getting this idea or principle from? Does the Bible stipulate how near a sinner should come to God?

A sinner is very free to come to God. God does not discriminate. But a sinner that fornicates often should leave pulpit work or as a dedicated church worker.
See, a Christian may even fall into fornication and repent. But let it be a "mistake" or an issue of not being careful. But a committed church worker regularly fornicating should leave church work. He or she may help on stuffs that are for church members in general.

How do you see it if someone fornicates 15 times in a month and still hold microphone to sing or preach or serve as a dedicated church worker?

You are yet to mention the Bible verse that supports this your opinion.

The question in your last paragraph is illogical here because I never said that fornication is good. My point is that the Bible does not say that sinners should not come to God or work in the church.

You can do other normal things for the church like sharing of handbills, joining in any general church sanitation for members e.t.c...

To be having regular fornication and still rushing to church as a dedicated worker is self-deceit.

You can be a normal member and if you have repented and God has helped you on the issue of immorality, you can become a dedicated church worker.

A dedication church worker may fall into fornication if not watchful. But fornication shouldn't be a regular thing for a dedicated church worker.
If a dedicated church worker falls into fornication, the person can repent and seek counsel from trusted Christians. But doing fornication regularly as a dedicated church worker is bad.

You are confusing yourself the more. The Bible does not mention which work is more important than others in the church. So, why are you trying to stipulate the works that fornicators should do in the church and the works that fornicators should not do in the church?

Do not serve as a dedicated church worker with iniquity.

God did not force anyone to serve Him as a fornicator, sinner e.t.c. Such services is useless to God.

A church worker may fall into fornication and repent; maybe due to pressure e.t.c, but fornicating regularly while being active as a church worker is a useless service before God.

The same way God does not force anyone to serve him is the same way God does not say that certain people should not serve him. So, why are you trying to set the boundaries that God himself did not set? Are you wiser or holier than God?

1. Self-deceit? Even your pastors do that much. So, why should anyone do otherwise? undecided

2. Dedicated, and is there a salary to be earned by that? undecided

3. So, Pastors who commit just as much and still manage to continue collecting salary, aren't dedicated church workers? undecided

Don't serve God in church with iniquity.

Someone cannot be wallowing in fornication, abortion e.t.c, and be serving God. The person should take a break and sincerely tell God to deal with the fornication & sins, then the person can become a dedicated church worker after been set free.

What is the point fornicating from monday till saturday, then rushing to church as a church worker on sunday. Is that not self-deceit?

God is very merciful to sinners and He wants them saved; but same sinner should not do rush into church workforce until been saved.

Someone still has to do that "work." Are you ready to take it up?

This your post reminds me of incidents in the past when people in the congregation would murmur when those in the choir got a tune wrong. Yet, these were mostly benchwarmers o.

We should learn to not criticise people doing what we cannot or won't do.

In the end, most of us are still battling with one sin or another. It's a process. We should just not be content with sinful living.

If you are living in persistent fornication, be a normal church member.

You want me to pamper fornication with church workforce?

Where is it clearly stated in the Bible that you should not take cocaine? But is taking cocaine a righteousness act?

You want to change the topic because you cannot justify your post.😂

The topic is not about whether I am a fornicator or not. The topic is that you are telling fornicators not to work in the church but God himself has not told fornicators not to work in the church.

So you want people who have been stark naked with their sexual partners in bed fornicating, from monday to saturday, to rush and hold microphone on sunday? So is the urge to work in church better than the urge to spend time in repenting and dealing with fornication?

How can someone be living a lifestyle of fornication and still be dedicated worker in church? This is not an issue of maybe a one-time carelessness of which someone can repent of and seek counsel from trusted leaders; but a conscious lifestyle of fornication.

Where is it clearly stated in the Bible that a Christian should not take cocaine? But is taking cocaine a righteous act?
