Qualification for the World Cup is a reflection of where you truly are in your national football development. Let's not get it twisted; I would trade two or three African Cup of Nations titles for a World Cup ticket. After all, at the global stage, who truly values Afcon apart from us Africans?

We blame some North African countries for always qualifying for the World Cup and doing badly at the competition, but we forget that they continue to dominate African club continental competitions.

What makes this thing more painful is that at last AFCON, we easily had the most formidable defense, all thanks to JPes. How we went from that to this is just bewildering.

Benin might win this game if they mount sufficient pressure on our defense.
If our route to goal is through a patient build up then we need at least two defensive midfielders.

I suggest long passes from the midfield to the forwards, even if the passes miss their intended targets. We will be in position early enough to recover. We don't need counters from the opposition, until some issues are sorted out.

We have very lethal forwards. We just need fewer opposition players in their own box and therefore more spaces to attack. We need the opposition to come out, that's the reason for the long passes from the midfield rather than dillydallying around their box and running the risk of dangerous counters.

I watch Norway matches, omo, those guys dey pass fire - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ball don dey Haaland leg, keeper don dey rooted for ground. But here crosses upon crosses, and it's not like they're even accurate crosses. Just wastage of opportunities that'll give the opposing goalkeeper time to waste in the name of goal kicks.

its actually the truth. Participation trophy in world cup and afcon trophy are not on the same level. Ask the egyptians if they would have preferred they sacrificed their afcon trophies during their 3 peat era for a world cup participation in those years and they would pick afcon.

we played negative football during the Afcon .... 5men defence , and unnecessary long balls ... it cost us the final . .the problem with our boys is not about their skills or ability , its psychological ... they will suddenly sleep off . eg: Ekong , Nwabali , Ajayi even Ndidi sometimes take a quick nap ..... that mental alertness need to be reawaken in them . this has been the major problem when ever we are leading . if you find another problem you can share here .

It's because our midfield is garbage. And for some reason we can't make back to back accurate passes before the ball ends up with the opponents. It's annoying because many teams should know our script by now >>> Run down the wings, hoof the ball up and pray to Jehovah.

That's one thing I still enjoy about our U20 squad, even though they're somehow average too. Their defense is terrible (arguably worse than the main Eagles), and their attackers are not clinical. But you see that midfield, those boys dey try. They move the ball fast with interesting combinations. Put Osimhen in front of that U20 squad and we'll be scoring at least 2-3 goals per game.

If you read my write up on Direct and Indirect factors we were actually competing against 3potential opponents for a playoff spot assuming direct qualification eludes us via a South Africa win over Rwanda.
The opponents were Madagascar, Burkina Faso and Uganda.
Note however uncertainties do become certainties on the field like who would have thought Cape Verde will qualify ahead of Cameroun and Angola!
As it stands, excluding the Zimbabwe games we have this:
P 7 W 3 D 3 L 1 GF 9 GA 6 GD +3 PTS 12.

We need an eventual total of 15pts and an eventual total goal difference of +7 to secure playoffs irrespective of the outcome of the SouthAfrica vs Rwanda game.

Scoring 2 or 3 goals from freekicks is necessary for the Super Eagles in this game.

The reason being that we do not know how many yellow cards our players might get today and to avoid the stress of same points and goal difference with Burkina Faso going down
to yellow cards, a 4goal margin is sufficient to
do the job.

Now playoffs does not mean you will qualify as you already have Cameroun and the possibility of Gabon or Cote D'Ivoire joining with DRC likely joining after our game.

Notwithstanding, nobody says SUDAN cannot embarrass DR Congo in DR Congo's home after our set of games. Even if Uganda embarrasses Algeria, it will not be more than a draw or at most a 1:0 away win

Let's all support the Super Eagles to a 4:0 or 5:0 victory on the field with our chants of : All we are saying, give us more goals . It is possible, it is achievable as we all stay positive.

There's a saying that you can't give what you don't have. This Chelle squad is a barren team and error prone too. Something is seriously wrong with the team.

Achieving a 4-0 win against BEN will be a miracle.

That's why I'm angry with the coach more than the players. He seems not to learn from his mistakes and he tolerates a lot of bullcrap from his players. Errors upon errors in almost every match. Its embarrassing and that what got us in this situation. All the goals we conceded in the last three matches, go ans check them they're all silly mistakes. Two from Ekong and one from Nwabali (could have been two).

We are not scoring 4 goals today. We don't have the team to achieve that. Let's be realistic. My heart is hoping and wishing but my head is telling me no way.
