If super eagles can get to Afcon semifinals I will be good with it. Rather we qualify for the World Cup than win Afcon . Let Morocco or Senegal win the Afcon hahaha
No. I want us to qualify for the WC AND win AFCON. We were just in the final last tournament. Let’s get over the line

Even before this game, I had identified that playing Simon and Lookman at the same time was a problem. Chelle needs to start benching one of them and when on the pitch they play directly from the wings and not Lookman always trying to play through the middle.

As for Olusegun he has no business in this team. It is above his pay grade.
Exactly playing both of them cost us points. becoz both of them are selfish players who wan to dribble and shoot. One of them needed to sit on the bench.
I was shouting this things like a mad man in ball watching center that nearly coz a fight becoz the person was lookmans fan.

Abeggi cheesy. Shame no dey catch una. cheesy

Upon all the so called world class players we have, we ended up finishing with the same points as Benin with their relatively unknown players. It's a big shame that Nigeria surpassed Benin only on goal difference.

If that doesn't show how great of a coach and man manager that Rohr is that he was able to use farmers and Carpenters from Benin to finish on the same points as Nigeria's World Class players, then I don't know what else to tell you.

Shame Shame Shaaaaammmmmme!!!! 😄
Shane or no shame, Rohr has been knocked out of una mouth. Cos you guys propped him up like he was some prime Guardiola. The weakness of our failure to qualify automatically does not mean Rohr has substance. We took him to the cleaners!

I feel very sorry for Benin, we could have let them qualify, but in this case it is every man for himself.
You feel sorry for Benin, but when they knew it is over for them, they were wasting time and goalkeeper pulling saves all in the bid to deny us the needed goal. Abeg forget that thing abeg. They dont like us as most people here think.

Moreover tgose hyping Gernot Rohr. He tried in Benin but there is nothing spectacular, he got 17 points from 10 matches, Niger got 15 points from just 8 matches.
Little xountries like Madagascar, Mozambique etc got more points. Even Comoros ,Namibia and co got similar points. So whtever he did in Benin is ordinary

Did you not watch Frank at the last Afcon? He was incredible. In my opinion, he's better than Ndidi.

I give Moses Simon a lot of flack but he did well for the 4th and decisive goal.

More importantly special Kudos to him and his wife for discovering Benjamin Fredrick. Boy is quality.

Eric Chelle on Osimhen and the Playoffs

🚨“I am very happy for my players, especially the best striker in the world, Victor. Now we go to Morocco, it’s going to be very difficult. This is the start and I am proud of everyone and even the fans because they pushed us”

Of the eventual 4 second best teams, 1st by the October Ranking vs 4th by same ranking and the other game is 2nd by the October Ranking vs 3rd by same ranking. Penalties to be played in the eventuality of a draw. Then the winners of both games square up to get the right to represent CAF in the INTER-CONFEDERATION PLAYOFFS OF 6TEAMS.
So who's first, who's fourth.

Nigeria's first, Gabon is distant fourth.

Chelle is the MAN, keep this guy and extend his contract, he will cook at the AFCON.

Osimhen, take a fucking bow! stood up like a true warrior for his country when it mattered the most, the stuff real elite players are made of.

Benjamin Frederick is THE NEW GENERATION, what a player! he reminds me of prime Yobo when he was younger, we have us a GEM.

Chukwueze delivered, Moses Simon is frustrating but we can't argue against 2 assists.

Congrats to the team for rising above all the odds to make the play-offs, the battle isn't over yet, but we have shown we have the mentality of a team that wants to go to the world cup, all the best to them in the next and final obstacle.

Give us Cameroon for the playoffs.
Benjamin is just too good even playing from a position that is not his forte. Too good. Kundus to him.

We don't praise Ajayi because of his club but he's one steady rock in that defense.

Benin might win this game if they mount sufficient pressure on our defense.
If our route to goal is through a patient build up then we need at least two defensive midfielders.

I suggest long passes from the midfield to the forwards, even if the passes miss their intended targets. We will be in position early enough to recover. We don't need counters from the opposition, until some issues are sorted out.

We have very lethal forwards. We just need fewer opposition players in their own box and therefore more spaces to attack. We need the opposition to come out, that's the reason for the long passes from the midfield rather than dillydallying around their box and running the risk of dangerous counters.
I said this before the match.

We had more precision in our final delivery, but we need to improve the more.

their bad belle too much and also their only intention of associating themselves with our football is just for selfish gains

Instead of any of them to coach the super eagles ever again I rather support a mad man to take over the job

Good viewpoint. Know however that any astute Coach must be able to deploy at least 2 and at most 3 different formations in a single match based on the MATCH ANALYST review of their strengths and weaknesses as well as that of their opponents hence the 5 to 6 substitutions allowed. It was in the era of 3 substitutions that one may start and end with one formation or at best 2 formations.
Revisit ATLANTA 96, the absence of Sunday Oliseh versus the presence of Garba Lawal, the introduction of Wilson Oruma and Teslim Fatusi when if I remember Zagallo goofed bt substituting Rivaldo(or was it Amaral), that was the turnaround. Slightly similar in recent times was Jennifer Echegini's introduction in the final of the 2025 WAFCON tweaking the original formation and turning the game on its head.

I beg to be corrected where necessary.
He substituted Ronaldo, Bebeto and one other prominent players thinking he had won d match.

Not correct. Bebeto completed the game and there were stories of a house linked to him being burnt in Brazil in anger.
