Watch our keeper

Nwabali needs to be talked to. Serious talk, his non chaplains attitude may cost us again. The ref didn’t blow his whistle yet he dropped the ball and the Benin guy scored a legit goal. Thank God the ref didn’t give the goal. That’s a big risk

Captain Ndidi went to talk to him, see the way he shuffled him away. At half time camera was on him and Ekong and they were seriously arguing. His ego may cost us big in future

A keeper that should ginger us by launching fast counters when we were in dire need of goals. He was busy wasting time sleeping on the ball. Thank God Frank the Tank got us the winning goal.

Lookman does not see himself as a supplier. He sees himself as the main guy. Of course, we need another person with a main man mentality like Osimhen but Lookman overdoes it. Even Osimhen is very unselfish.

The reason Chukwueze shone today is that whether by instruction or by his own self motivation, he decided to be a supplier today and it paid off. He was highly instrumental to the outcome of today's game. From the moment Lookman got the yellow card, I was relieved and I predicted that our game was in Chukwueze's hands.

The reason Rashidi shone at Afcon 94 was because of Oliseh. Oliseh was giving the Baba, telegraphic passes.

Osimhen needs an Oliseh.

Oliseh was the secret to our midfield. He was a combination of Mikel and Onyedika and Onyeka and Ndidi. He was too good - a DM who was a deep lying midfielder and orchestrator.
At the friendlies in London earlier in the year, we saw Chuks playing that number 10 role, and he shone like a star. I had thought Chelle would continue with that experiment, looks like he's scared cos I don't understand why chuks was subbed out, except he got injured. But I think we have a make-shift playmaker role in Chuks with those two assists he gave Osihmen in the first half. Chuks is a major reason we have a 4-0 nil victory

Omo i feel for them they would hav comfortably qualified on norms cry
But i think all these hapend for Nigeria to qualify. When u look at these incidents.

....Eriterea Factor
....3 points award to Lesoth boosted their cofidence to avoid bottom
.....Lesotho narrowly missed goal in Uyo
......Lookman's double yellow
.....suprising 4-0 win(exact min golas dey needed).
U wil know Fate wants Nigeria to qualify.
I think S.Eagles are going to America
i was one of those that thought fate was stringing us along for a big disappointment today. Celebrated like mad when my phone beamed up with the 4-0 at 90+

God give us keeper, keeper go give him calabash to strong people.

Chelle should put his foot down. You're as good as your last game

Where will we see goalie abeg?

I agree that there is a gap between the Number 1, and to be honest, we don’t even have a Number 2 currently. If Maduka was available, maybe we would have been working towards something, but that Onana wannabe is, for all intents and purposes, untested and inexperienced.

Quality goalkeepers go a long way in must win games, and there is no way to resolve that issue as it stands. Nwabali is all we have
Chijioke Aniagboso based in Ukraine and Detan Ogundare good at stopping penalties but I think is with Nasarawa United can give him a run for his jersey.

Odunayaw:
You guys that were around to watch Yekini, was this how he made the country feel?

Because mannn I'm so proud and grateful for Osimhen. To think he was so close scoring all the four goals by himself. Ah omoooo, that self confidence is enough for 10 men
Yekini was the only player back in the days of Westerhof who could walk into the starting line-up even if he reported late to camp, in fact if Yekini has not arrived Westerhof will almost be pissing in his pants, that's how indispensable he was, and those days especially if we are playing smaller nations, you can be sure of at least two goals from him. He was a joy-giver per excellence.

It's one major reason, no matter what anyone says about Osihmen, I will forever be among the 'Yes' men for the player, cos I understand the kind of treasure such a player is.

cards. We actually were on equal goals difference with them at some point when we scored 3-0 but they scored 13 goals compared to our 12 goals so that would have disqualified us as goals scored comes before cards in the calculations of this stuff. Lets celebrate now and hope for the best next month.

I slammed him during the Lesotho game and even termed him Dumb at a point coz it was freaking annoying seeing us struggle to break Lesotho down especially with certain tactical changes I knew we could make, up until the Penalty call BUT.... I must commend Chelle for one thing and one thing only:

Chelle listens and makes necessary corrections.

He is still unbeaten and nabs his biggest win as Super Eagles Coach in a game that was meant to be the toughest of them all vs a team who also badly needed the WC ticket.

Chelle and the team will build on this huge momentum gained and ride with it into the Playoffs, secure the CAF ticket to the Intercontinentals and face the Afcon in Morocco.

Chelle's Super Eagles is finally awakened. A few returnees like Onyedika, Aina, will make the team even stronger.

We march on! Long Live The Super Eagles!

BankyGee:
My Coach: Éric Sekou Chelle!

The right man for the job. This man knows his job. We all know how we use the same set of players every international window. This man came and introduced:
1. Benjamin Fredrick
2. Igoh Ogbu
3. Felix Agu
4. Tolu Arokodare
5. Akor Adams
6. Christiantus Uche

- Started benching Ekong because he's not at his best.
- Won the Unity Cup (even though it's a friendly cup) but at least we played serious teams to win it.
- Kept experimenting with different players, including debutants so as to get his best starting XI, never lost one match in the process.
- Picked Nigeria already on the brink of missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
- Played all the matches in front of him, going UNBEATEN and eventually qualifying for the playoffs.
- Kept delivering even when the entire country didn't believe in him.
- Played 9 games, won 6 and drew 3.

I know he has one or two improvements to make, but... WHAT A MANAGER! TAKE A BOW, ÉRIC CHELLE! 🫡🙇🏾‍♂️
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by M7even(m):
Well, football like many organisation has a hierarchy ..what we end up watching on the pitch is a result of the various interplay amongst the hierarchy that crafts it out. How does a team that does not have a home stadium to play its home games want to qualify above a team that has over 7 approved FIFA stadiums plus the complementary of arguably running the best league in sub Saharan African. Think about it this way and you'll agree that south Africa deserves that position. They fielded an ineligible player and still managed to get the job done. It is no fault of theirs that the other teams couldn't meet up to what should be the approved standard stadia. It is left to the other teams that take football seriously in their own interest to make substantial football development.
If they have to qualify for the next 10 world cups like this, it is absolutely fine given their investment in football. But to reduce their victory to playing 7 home games as nothing is absolutely unjustifiable. They lost to Rwanda away just as Nigeria lost to Benin on a neutral ground. They equally earned a draw in Nigeria.

Cocony:
Following the about to be concluded qualifiers, only SOUTH AFRICA does not deserve to be at the World Cup in my opinion. It is only in Africa I have seen a team play their home matches in the pitch of their opponent: 7 whooping home matches for South Africa and 1 neutral ground game with only 2 away matches of which they truly lost one(against Rwanda)
That was dubious from the onset. FiIFA and CAF should look into this next time to ensure a real neutral ground is used
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:47pm On Oct 14, 2025
Just like Amedino99 said, Nope. Coz they had 13 goals and we had 12. Same GD but an inferior goals scored would have knocked us out. That is why that Onyeka's goal was vital.

Tinneh:
Okay thanks, we made it anyways
