The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has asserted that Nigerians owe President Bola Tinubu as the achievements recorded by his administration are a direct result of Tinubu's leadership.

Wike made the statement while commissioning completed access roads in Sector Centre B, located by the Dakibiyu District, Abuja.

During the event, the Minister stated "By [Mr. President's] leadership all the roads here have now been completed and in the next few months we will be here again. The Court of Appeal Division will soon be inaugurated by Mr President."

“I have always said that when you have the right leadership you can achieve unexpected results. Tinubu has shown the right leadership and that is why we are able to achieve. Talking about the achievement we have made, it is because of the right leadership.”

"I’m sure all those who walk around this place will begin to reminisce over, was this where we used to walk? This is the Dakibiyu District that we used to come to?" he asked rhetorically.

"Nigerians, we owe a lot to the president and I have always said, yes tongues will wag but when you are focused you will achieve results."

Indeed. Calculate how much we owe him and we'll crowdfund to pay him back so he can leave us alone. After his media chat rights were taken away, Wike has been trying to improvise by taking a camera crew to every 1.5km groundbreaking ceremony. But it has failed to have the same effect. Take the camera away from Wike and he's as good as finished.

This man is really high on something. How come a country of more than 200M people allow these kleptomaniacs in government.

Hopefully someday, people get together from all crannies in Nigeria to fight for good governance for all. These politicians don’t care about anything nor anyone! They all live in luxurious mansions with security personnel looting without recourse!

President Tinubu should face Nigerians squarely and tell them the truth about our GDP figures.

All this economic grammar about “rebasing” the GDP and conjuring statistics to make it seem like the economy is improving is neither right nor honorable. You can’t build credibility on data inflation.

Nigeria’s fiscal model, borrowing to pay back existing loans , is unsustainable. It’s a short-term fix with long-term consequences.

How can the GDP be rising when oil revenue per barrel is dropping, both in price and in export volume? It’s a statistical contradiction. Real economic growth must reflect productivity, trade, and output, not accounting creativity.

The uncomfortable truth is that Nigeria’s Debt-to-GDP ratio must remain below 50% to stay within global borrowing norms. To keep borrowing more, the administration appears to be inflating GDP figures , not by growth, but by manipulation.

This creates a dangerous illusion of stability, one that temporarily satisfies the IMF and World Bank but ultimately leaves citizens with devalued currency, inflation, and broken trust.

The government should be transparent about the numbers, re-calibrate the real economy, and focus on tangible production rather than statistical cosmetics.

Wike, the sycophant master, can keep singing his corrupt master's praises and licking his butt for all he cares. He should remember he's not the first person to play such a role; Amaechi did so when Buhari was in power, and at the end of the day, he was used.

One thing with tinubu taxes is when you heave a sigh of relief that’s it’s over he will come up with another one named “ renewed shege bolekaja consolidated taxes…” and his taxes always comes with higher increase in cost of living ie a car you bought for 12m today go and price it after 6 months and they will tell you it’s 13.5m now and continues going up forever….so Wike is right . Nigerians still owe tinubu a whole lot …in renewed taxes and nothing to show for it except damaging the country further than buhari did

Yes we owe him a lot for showing how to use glitches to determine the election of the office of the president of the most populated black nation in the world.

We also owe him a lot for teaching us how to use the office of the president to release a lot of convicted criminals that has dealt with Nigerians.

Please Tinubu give us free fair and credible election let's pay you back in full.

Don't be surprised, most of the hatred here for Wike is not because of result or performance. It is ipod related and motivated. i remember when kanu placed a bounty of i think 100million on Wike's head.
