I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come – for the last living 20 hostages who have been through unimaginable hell and are finally reunited with their families and loved ones, and for the civilians in Gaza who have experienced immeasurable loss and will finally get the chance to rebuild their lives.

The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line.

Now, with the backing of the United States and the world, the Middle East is on a path to peace that I hope endures and a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike with equal measures of peace, dignity, and safety.

They're more comfortable calling some prisoners and the other hostages.

My niece forced me to watch Roots(the TV series) this Sunday (holiday and wanted to impress me with all her knowledge from her AP class).
Still no difference.
Some people see themselves as distinctly human and all the rights that responses that stem from that while the other (non white people) aren't.
And there are people in the "other" group cheering the lack of their own humanity.

Up north Christian minorities are regularly persecuted in one way or another.

I remember one day when I told a very religious friend we had a death on our project site. The person looked at me and asked - was it a Muslim? I was shocked but said nothing at first. Then I said yes and the person started crying. I had to wonder - so if the dead had been a Christian what would have happened?

Our former telecoms minister was outed as a one time supporter of al-quaeda. But in all of the discussions, no one touched on the more salient issue, when he was chief imam in a northern university he allegedly incited Muslim students to Lynch a Christian in the mosque. This is in the public record. Nothing came out of it.

When you hear Charlie hebdo discussed you will see conservative Muslims thumping their chests and saying you can't fk with us. We are not like Christians. Then when the repercussions come and France cracks down on hijab they start complaining about human rights.

This is the spectrum I look at Isreal vs Palestine

If the Palestinians had the upper hand they would have done a Rwanda on the Isrealis from the river to the sea, as they like to call it.

And most of the support is really about Jews (who are cursed in the Quran) oppressing believers

The Muslim world said nothing when Royinga were massacred in Myanmar

Nothing as china is actively exterminating ugyurs

They are partnering with Russia who invaded a Muslim country in the past (Afghanistan)

Same Russia that was oppressing and killing chechen Muslims for most of the 2000s.

Take away the Jews from the equation and most of the Muslim world will immediately unlook

How many Muslims have called for ending hostilities in the Yemen civil war? Put pictures of Yemen beside Gaza and see if there is any difference.
