Hello guys

I received a message with an invitation letter purportedly from the EFCC inviting me for an interview in relation to computer fraud and money laundering. The letter was written on official EFCC letter head. I have never been involved in any of these activities. Can this be a genuine invitation? Will EFCC contact anyone via WhatsApp? I was just wondering why the letter was not sent via official EFCC email. Please anyone with information about this kindly advise. Thank you

Scam EFCC will never contact you on WhatsApp or even send you an email inviting you for investigation. It is a new scam format, now they even spoof EFCC and FBI official emails just to lure unsuspecting victims. Don't fall for it. Tag the EFCC official handle on X with a screenshot of the WhatsApp message.

Lies, lies, lies. Don't fall for it, they want to have your head on a plate.

Obviously a scam..
If you go ahead to chat them, they might say you have been suspected of bla blah blah that will make you panick.

Now they will now say that for them to deaden the matter you are to send soso so amount

I don't understand your fear here. You are invited for an interview, go if you hands are clean but mind you, it must be on their Office. If the address is somewhere else, Na scam. Insist on meeting them in their office! And once they ask for any money, Na scam.

Efcc is not a polite body to an average Nigerian.
If you are in their radar, either they break your door or pass through your ceiling to come and bundle you.
They can even kidnap you on the road then you find yourself in their office.

Some people are just easy to scam. A whole EFCC will be sending you whatsapp, wonder shall never end.

CNN actually covered this kind scam yesterday, whereas people will be threatened into paying into a crypto atm. They called one of the scammer with deep Indian accent was claiming to be FBI agent. And people fell for that.

I received same letter on WhatsApp through someone called himself Umar Farouk, saying he's a EFCC officer.

One of your close pals gave your details to them, he will get his own share after they don milk you, be aware that EFCC or the police won't contact you via WhatsApp up unless your number is not reachable
