giselle237:Thank you so much for your response. Since my last refusal, which was exactly one year ago, I’ve travelled to Qatar and Singapore and also planning a trip to SA. For clarity, the funds will not be coming from the company account but his own personal account, just that we cannot access his US bank account that has a lot more money. I think we’ll go with option 2 and draft a letter, but we’ll make sure to do it very carefully. If it’s looking like it won’t add up, we’ll just put the application on hold for another 6 months. Thank you once again for your response, Giselle. |

KaylaO:If the funds in his personal account can show proof of how they originated then use it if you can’t show it then look for an account that you can comfortably demonstrate the ORIGIN of the funds either derived from salary or from business/self employment. Payslips, contracts, invoices etc show origin… |

Please does anyone know if a transit visa is required when flying through France to UK using Airfrance (student Evisa) and if anyone has flown recently? |

Yes, regardless of the visa. You should either have US or Canada visa. wurababey: |

Attention house, i travelled to the uk around march on work visa which is 1month and replied a tourist visa again this September but was refused. Reason the address on my bank Statement is different from my home address, 2, i said i do not have a sister in uk weareas when I first applied i got an invitation from my sister to come for her graduation which i was refused before severally before entering through work visa. What should i do. I am so debastated |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Manlikechims: 10:46am On Oct 13, 2025 |
Schooltwo346:Out of curiosity though, why did you lie on your application about not having a sister when in your previous application you had an invite from the sister? Was this also listed as a reason for refusal. In regards to the bank address being different from your home address can always be corrected. I don’t know if they’d refuse based on just it being the address, I do stand to be corrected. In my own case, one of my personal bank statement address is different from home address, My business account address is actually that of rhe bank’s HO. Though in my case if you looked at my bank statement pos transactions for places like supermarkets, restaurants it did somehow show my location. I am a frequent traveler but i always treat every visa application like it’s my first time again. Gone are the days where you’d just do a drop box and you almost have nothing to worry about. |

Hello Gurus' pls I need urgent support, I made a recent application for a standard UK visitors visa to attend a brother's graduation ceremony however, after the application, I realised that My sister marked "No" for the section that asked " have you been refused a visa before". Though she completed the application for me but she submitted as if I was the one who completed the application. I have been profusely refused a UK visitors visa, which I believed was due to an oversight from the ECO as they have misinterpreted my annual income to be 59million instead of 5.9 million. I have done my biometrics already. please what should I do |

Jenny111:I believe you should send a follow up email ASAP explaining your mistakes, don’t tell them the form was filled on your behalf o. You risk a UK travel Ban if you do not declare your previous refusal(s). Treat as Urgent before action(s) is taken on your application. |

Jenny111:Send a paid mail urgently and say you have been refused a UK visa before. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 11:55am On Oct 13, 2025 |
Schooltwo346:Check that you do not have a 10 year ban. Read the refusal letter to the end. Well a sister is a sister, there was no need to lie. No way you did not know your sister was there. No need to be devastated, you won’t get a visitor now again sha as they feel you lied about your sister’s presence in the Uk so they will not suspect you of not wanting to go back after a short visit. You also did not mention how and why you left the UK after entering with a work visa. That one is also on your records and reasoning about all wholistically would show that you do not have visiting intent. |

Hello Everyone, please can someone help me with this: I came to the UK on spouse visa in Nov 2020, my daughter (17 years) joined me in Nov 2022 and her visa was tied to mine. We both extended our visa (FLR) in 2023. I'm due for ILR from Nov this year, the challenge is how do I go about our application? Do I apply for ILR for myself and then FLR for daughter, do I apply for ILR for both of us or do I apply for my ILR first and then apply for my daughter's FLR when my ILR has been approved? I will appreciate if someone can help me with this question. |

typingmaster:Use your typicalmonthly expenses so use previous months and do the average. September is a outlier so you can always explain that in the additional information section |

Hello everyone please I’m trying to apply again for UK visitor visa. My company is writing an introduction letter and they have asked who to address it to, I told them this after doing some googling but I’m not sure It’s right since I’m submitting in Lagos: The Visa Officer UK Visas and Immigration British High Commission Abuja, Nigeria Please what should it be for Lagos? Also I had a rejection in 2021 which I ticked in the application, but I don’t know if I should upload the letter itself as part of the document? Also my sister who is in the Uk is inviting me this time, what can I use as proof of relationship asides from an old photo i have of me and her before she travelled back in 2019. |

Hi Has anyone successfully rebooked an appointment with VFS after missing the appointment. What happened was that I didn't pay attention to the date and I thought it was next week Wednesday but it was actually today, and with less than 24hrs notice, rescheduling wasn't possible. I paid £150 to use the Portharcourt VAC and cancelling the application would mean I can't get a refund of the VAC fees. VFS phone numbers and emails aren't going through and I've sent someone to PH and they said only option is to cancel and redo the application but I'm super worried about losing £150 just like that! I contacted them on X/twitter and they sent a link which says I can rebook for a fee of £20 within five days of missing the appointment but the reschedule button is still greyed out and not clickable making it impossible to rebook. I'm kinda confused and feeling defeated now cause this is such a rookie mistake |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 2:13pm On Oct 16, 2025 |
Kelebabaj:No need of proof of relationship with your sister. No need to upload refusal letter of last denial Introduction letter should be Lagos You need other things from your sister Proof of where she stays if your are staying with her. Proof of her status in the Proof of funds if she is paying for expenses of your trip |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Oggg: 5:41pm On Oct 16, 2025 |
Taal17:The bolded is incorrect. Poster must prove relationship to any one they claim is a relative. In this case to prove it is a sister, poster is to submit their birth certificate, pictures together etc |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 9:47pm On Oct 16, 2025 |
Oggg:I still insist, no need for proof of relationship. This isnt Canadian PR. What does birth certificate prove? They can have different surnames and different fathers or mothers and still be sisters. This is visit visa please. I have sisters , cousins, aunties and uncles who have been listed on my form and no proof required. If this was immediate family spouse or children then maybe |

Taal17:So loud yet so wrong!! - This is for a UK visa. They deny without proof of relationships as one of the reasons in a visit visa. - In this thread we’ve seen multiple denials: “you claim it’s your mother, but there’s no proof.” Not for PR. Read this UK thread. - If asked how to prove it’s her sister, a birth certificate showing the same father or same mother proves it. - Another denial: “you say it’s your brother, but there’s no proof.” The poster didn’t ask about uncle, aunt, or cousin. - Read the thread, the refusals are everywhere. Immigration requires proof, not assumptions. - Don’t speak on UK visa matters here unless you’ve checked the updates in this thread. |
