As seen above in 2024☝️

Poor man? I dont think so. At 21, he has all it takes to rise to that sort of player. He is an exact Yaya Profile. Bigger potentially than a Poor man's standards.

I believe I was the first to point out Uche's Yaya Profile traits.

Where was Yaya at 21?? He was in Belgium. At 22, Yaya was in Ukraine.

At 23, Yaya was in Greece. At 24, he was at Monaco in Ligue 1.

He joined Barca at 25. And then made his move to Man City at 28 and Boom!!! Yaya's Legend was formed at City!

Uche at 21 is still very young and has time on his hands. But Chelle has to figure out quickly what we in here already know. Uche is our Box to Box Weapon.
I guess I'm underrating him then. I pray he goes on to fulfil his potentials. It's to our advantage anyways

Chelle is not that coach.. i know a lot of people will crucify me for this but he is not that coach. Yes he tried to get us out of the shii we were and he did his best.
But He is not technically sound

A coach who couldnt spot that lookman is match rusty wouldnt know what to do with a player like uche, so im not suprised. Right from the first match lookman played for us during his issues with his club i saw he was out of form and needed to rest. But nope caoch was only using APOTY to keep playing him.
Meanwhile chukwueze who he experimented Vs Jamaica showed signeds but he kept benching him.
If not for lookman double yellow card we wont be here with WC hope today

FATE& LUCK saved chelle Not his technical ability.
Chukwueze was on good streak. Chelle kept benching him. He played Dessers against South Africa when Tolu should have been his first option.

My people, it's like Chelle does not rate Chrisantus oo. He didn't even invite him originally.
Christantus hasn't been playing for Crystal Palace na, abi na me no dey track am well?

Chelle still dey study am. We don't even know his real position yet, we have to see some consistency in his real position and performance before we let him play. Na good player, he go do well for Super Eagles, make we dey observe am for club fess.

Osimhen only assisted once, he won two penalties so I doubt this sneaky way you're trying to wiggle your way out of this.
My boss, na you dey misunderstand am. He knows what he's saying. He used transfermarkt to show you Osimhen's statistics.

The same transfermarkt recorded Osimhen's two penalties won as 2 assists, and he had proper 1 assist, which makes it 3 assists plus his 1 goal scored.

I no know wetin una dey argue about sha, but he's actually talking about Osimhen not Awoniyi.

There's truth in his statement oo. SA were not our mates a few years ago. We'd be pitted against them and nobody loses sleep. Today, they have become a thorn in our flesh even more than our traditional rivals. We found ourselves in the same group with them and they nicked the ticket even after 3 points were deducted. This is because they kept on improving their league and it has upped the quality of their national team.

Morocco is another team that has invested heavily in soccer and the results are tumbling in across all strata of footballing competitions.

We are still relying on talent. No structure, no system. The fact is that AS A PEOPLE we lack the mental fortitude to be systematic. Not just that we lack the fortitude, we hate anything systematic, we hate law and order. We like chaos, we even thrive in it because we are a childish and irresponsible people.

I think the view expressed by semid4lyfe is quite telling.

Another player who is still on the fringes of the team and has been so from coach to coach is Onyedika. Surprisingly Chelle always uses Dele Bashiru whenever Dele is available.

His lack of gametime at Palace really irks me. If he was still at Getafe, we wont be having this conversation.

Anyway, he is still 22. He will get the gametime. Seriously using Yaya's trajectory to encourage myself on Uche's.

He just needs the run of games at Palace and he will continue the explosion he was showing at Getafe. Uche needs gametime. His potential is not in doubt. He is Yaya Regen.

Bro let’s be realistic when. Making some points ,we re not Brazil 🇧🇷 or Argentina 🇦🇷 where we can boldly say we av superstars dt can replace each oda easily in the team

Will u have a lookman (African best in ur team) and bench him as a coach ? Let’s be sincere .i am not saying chelle is perfect ,but in dt Nigerian 🇳🇬 team two players are practically untouchable even when not match fit ..wc is osimhen and lookman

The bolded is sooo true, it's both painful and hilarious to read it. 😂

This chaos is part of our culture, for better or worse. That's why Nigerians are generally a very impatient bunch of people. We love shortcuts. We can't fathom the concept of long term planning that will take at least 7-8 years to get sustainable results. You need to look no further than the touts on Twitter who start calling for a player's head after just one bad game.

I am more vexed than you.

When I read he was bought as a direct replacement for Eberechi Eze, I thought to myself that he may not play regularly because he's of.a different profile to Eze. And that's exactly what is playing out though it still early days.

To worsen matters, Getafe's coach didn't want to sell him, and the player too didn't want to go. But I guess, the higher-ups in the club thought it was good business and pushed the deal through.

I hope his lack of game time at Crystal Palace doesn't cost him invitation for the playoffs and making the AFCON squad.

was lookman out of form or was he played out of position. First game he played him on the left, second game he played him on the right which is even worse. Lookman is a striker or supporting striker. No matter how good a player is playing him out of position will reduce his output.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Bossoflife25: 7:02pm On Oct 16, 2025
Absolutely!! However, I still think an Onyedika will provide the balance for us in a 4-4-2. With Onyedika 4-4-2 can switch to 4231 or 433 too. Also Chukwueze did what he was asked to do. Move to the midfield to provide balance while Benjamin track their winger. We were sleek in some phases in the first half and should have scored more with better decision making. We should have scored 5 even before Frank came on in the 2nd half. Simon had the best chance and Osimhen pass to Wilf and Iwobi should have hit the target.
TheSuperNerd:
The 442 is not our best. It is only effective when chasing a game or goals. We started with 442 and you saw how the 2 man midfield struggled to keep a hold of plays in the middle. If not for Chukwueze's brilliance, we would have had a goalless first half.

Switching to a 3 man midfield provided the control we needed in the middle to build momentum towards finishing off the job. And that 3 man personnel of Iwobi, Frank and Ndidi is still not close to our best tactically balanced 3 in the middle yet we still fashioned out some chances. Osimhen's header off Bruno's cross which was saved at the last min by the Benin GK is one.
Olakunle's wasted chance is another.

Iwobi went out for Moffi on 88mins and we threw nearly everyone forward. That was no longer 442. It was 424. Or dare I say, 4-1-5. Tolu, Moffi, Olakunle all clustered into the box, Moses Simon driving into the left of the box with Bruno catching up fast on the outside in case of a pass for a quick cross, and Onyeka arriving into the box.

442 is useful in certain game phases but most certainly not our best formation and I would only play 442 with the exact personnel type that suits it.

SA eliminated Morroco at the last AFCON. Morocco has not won AFCON in 30 years. SA played only 3 matches away from home won 1, draw 1, lost 1. With our players fully fit during the qualifiers we would have won the group without stress.
Mind you SA won 1996 AFCON. Got to 2000 semis. SA is not a small team. Knocked out host Egypt at the 2018 AFCON

I think God wants us to qualify but learn a lesson first. That Lookman's selfishness and overdoing is one of the major reasons we've not been scoring goals. Guy is good no doubt, but he selfish make we talk true.

If he played that match I don't think we would have scored as many goals. His absense was a blessing in disguise. Though he's still the best partner for Osimhen upfront

Chelle really needs to talk to him.
