was lookman out of form or was he played out of position. First game he played him on the left, second game he played him on the right which is even worse. Lookman is a striker or supporting striker. No matter how good a player is playing him out of position will reduce his output.
I wont tak this excuse for look i wtched all his games.. all the 3 games and i spot it immidiatly tht something was off abt him.
He became more selfish nd syarted playing "Hero football". Even when he had to pass to osimhen he chose to dribble.

Playing out position wont stop him from givong passes to osimhen but nope he wants his own goals.. lets call spade a spade.

There's truth in his statement oo. SA were not our mates a few years ago. We'd be pitted against them and nobody loses sleep. Today, they have become a thorn in our flesh even more than our traditional rivals. We found ourselves in the same group with them and they nicked the ticket even after 3 points were deducted. This is because they kept on improving their league and it has upped the quality of their national team.

Morocco is another team that has invested heavily in soccer and the results are tumbling in across all strata of footballing competitions.

We are still relying on talent. No structure, no system. The fact is that AS A PEOPLE we lack the mental fortitude to be systematic. Not just that we lack the fortitude, we hate anything systematic, we hate law and order. We like chaos, we even thrive in it because we are a childish and irresponsible people.
The Law, where is the fruit na. Are they pushing for medals across all age grade? Being a thorn in our flesh is not a medal.

I think God wants us to qualify but learn a lesson first. That Lookman's selfishness and overdoing is one of the major reasons we've not been scoring goals. Guy is good no doubt, but he selfish make we talk true.

If he played that match I don't think we would have scored as many goals. His absense was a blessing in disguise. Though he's still the best partner for Osimhen upfront

Chelle really needs to talk to him.
Let’s be easy on Lookman every game is different. On a good day he’s a game changer perhaps the issues at his club has taken its toll on him.

What are u even talkin abt a player is not producing for you and u keep playin him at the expense of ur job ? Even when u hav other options ?..
He tried chukwueze with freindly and he delivered. Yet he benched him all through.
Chelle is ass
Abi no be same chukwueze dt has been so inconsistent, cos he played well against Benin 🇧🇯…I pray it continues dt way ..cos any small thing now,u will begin to curse him 😊
Sadly im not among those who join curse bandwaghon.. i know chukwueze problem is lack of game time. Forget hype no player in that team carries ball and give clear passes bettet than him.

Anybody who dnt see this dont have nything to do with football

Two things can be right at the same time, doesn't have to be one or the other. Does he play hero ball yes because he shoots in areas where he's expected to pass but what if that's because we are using him wrongly. Put him as a striker where he collects the ball and creates spaces for himself and shoots instead of in situations where he collects the ball and he's expected to make a pass like a chukwueze or Iwobi would do

Leave am na he is talking about PAST finals when the future is currently in discussion, Look at stadiums, youth football, local leagues and administration and you will see which team is on the rise and which team is dwindling, the funny thing being that Nigeria defeating South Africa in future will be seen as an upset rather than the norm
Future una.

What have they leapfrogged Nigeria at in the national team (all age grade) level?

Well i saw him few times trying to dribble and shoot but ended up shooting it against a player even after creating space.

I wont even blme him much shaa l..i blame the mumu coach who failed on his duty.
Becoz Lookman wont say No when u put him in lineup.

Spot on
Forwards should prioritize finding their teammates, but If there’s no one in space take the shot
Remember Osimhen pass to Lookman against Cameroon, that hustle gave us the W in my opinion
Been selfish can cost the team sometimes

This is not a bashing bro. Chukwueze might not have played if Lookman was available, and that might have cost us the necessary four goals. Lookman holds onto the ball for too long on many occasions. Chukweieze's selflessness and timely passing was crucial in that game.

Even Osimhen who is the main poacher is naturally inselfish.

What about the recent pass to Adams. Lookman probably would have attempted to dribble the defender or just shoot wide.
Lookman is a top player but he needs to work on that.

And I think Chukwueze should retain his spot. He really spots Victor quite easily.

Let’s hope Lookman make the necessary adjustments going forward. We can’t just be angry with too many players now cos just one injury to one and you risk going back again to the same player you think he’s not doing enough. It’s a good thing to have a plethora of options than be limited. I like the options we have in attack but hey we can’t say same for our midfield.

Chelle is not that coach.. i know a lot of people will crucify me for this but he is not that coach. Yes he tried to get us out of the shii we were and he did his best.
But He is not technically sound

A coach who couldnt spot that lookman is match rusty wouldnt know what to do with a player like uche, so im not suprised. Right from the first match lookman played for us during his issues with his club i saw he was out of form and needed to rest. But nope caoch was only using APOTY to keep playing him.
Meanwhile chukwueze who he experimented Vs Jamaica showed signeds but he kept benching him.
If not for lookman double yellow card we wont be here with WC hope today

FATE& LUCK saved chelle Not his technical ability.
Since Chelle is not a good coach maybe they should re appoint finidi George na

The two games played against the bottom team was subtracted, with the points and goals that were accumulated from them.

I have been saying it before and I will keep saying it.

Chukweze holds the key to our long lost number 10. Chukweze holds the key to our qualification.

Chukweze is the remaining gel to our team play. He is the missing piece to our destruction of teams going forward.

Chukweze is tricky, sleeky, skillful, technically astute and a ball carrier.

This is not an argument of either playing Ademola or Chukweze. Play Chukweze and others. Just make sure he starts especially through the middle.

His skills are specially designed for free midfield role and you will see magic. He is left footed and that makes him a perfect candidate for the 10 role.

Think Messi, Think James, Think Odegaard, then think Chukweze.

He showed what he is capable of doing through the middle during the Unity cup, yet Chelle kept him on the bench.

Look at how we have struggled for goals all through the Qualifiers and suddenly Lookman Ademola is benched due to yellow cards and we suddenly won 4-0, through whose Magic?... Chukweze!!!!

He is the unsung hero in that Match.

This is not even about Osimehn,..(Osimehn has been playing since without been fed )

No matter how good your strikers are, they need feeding.

It bothers me that the coach didn't notice all these while. It took God to make Ademola get banned to force his hands to play Chukweze.

If Lookman had played that game instead of Chukweze,... We will not be analyzing any Playoffs because we all know how that match would have ended.

We would have struggled to score one Goal from beginning to ending,.. we will manage to score one in the 60th or 70 minutes and Benin would equalize in the 80th minute... 1-1 game over.

In all these, Playoffs will come and Chelle will be back to benching Chukweze for Lookman, then bringing him in the 85th Minute to play wing football and Perform Magic.

Chukweze is the Okocha of our time, the scoring Okocha actually.,.. Just play him through the middle and see Magic

I think we actually have a reasonable amount of good midfielders. The thing with Chelle is he's kind of underutilizing them. For example, Iwobi should be playing closer to the box as AM not CM.

Onyedika, Uche, Onyeka with Ndidi these guys are good CMs and DMs, even Fredericks is a potential DM with his ball playing and calmness.

Iwobi and Chuks should be strictly our AMs while being deployed as LW and RW in ceetain occasions respectively. These two guys have one thing in common: they possess serious defense splitting passes that Osimhen needs and they love doing so.

Some of what you have said has been repeated uncountable times here on this thread and it’s not that currently Iwobi and others role are that static but I don’t think these crop of midfielders can deliver the goods we all desire. I have come to the conclusion that the midfield for this generation of players is just our weakness and hoping we compensate for the stronger attackers and defenders we have.

Iwobi played deep. That's what you get when you play him in a two man midfield as he is saddled with the responsibility of dictating play from the deep, the little time he was freed to go forward with the introduction of Onyeka he made intelligent runs into space and almost scored if not for the block of the Benin defender, after that he was substituted. Given more time playing closer to the final third he'll score goals and get assists.
