I have been saying it before and I will keep saying it.

Chukweze holds the key to our long lost number 10. Chukweze holds the key to our qualification.

Chukweze is the remaining gel to our team play. He is the missing piece to our destruction of teams going forward.

Chukweze is tricky, sleeky, skillful, technically astute and a ball carrier.

This is not an argument of either playing Ademola or Chukweze. Play Chukweze and others. Just make sure he starts especially through the middle.

His skills are specially designed for free midfield role and you will see magic. He is left footed and that makes him a perfect candidate for the 10 role.

Think Messi, Think James, Think Odegaard, then think Chukweze.

He showed what he is capable of doing through the middle during the Unity cup, yet Chelle kept him on the bench.

Look at how we have struggled for goals all through the Qualifiers and suddenly Lookman Ademola is benched due to yellow cards and we suddenly won 4-0, through whose Magic?... Chukweze!!!!

He is the unsung hero in that Match.

This is not even about Osimehn,..(Osimehn has been playing since without been fed )

No matter how good your strikers are, they need feeding.

It bothers me that the coach didn't notice all these while. It took God to make Ademola get banned to force his hands to play Chukweze.

If Lookman had played that game instead of Chukweze,... We will not be analyzing any Playoffs because we all know how that match would have ended.

We would have struggled to score one Goal from beginning to ending,.. we will manage to score one in the 60th or 70 minutes and Benin would equalize in the 80th minute... 1-1 game over.

In all these, Playoffs will come and Chelle will be back to benching Chukweze for Lookman, then bringing him in the 85th Minute to play wing football and Perform Magic.

Chukweze is the Okocha of our time, the scoring Okocha actually.,.. Just play him through the middle and see Magic
And that exactly is my nightmare, that Chukwueze could return to the bench. I really hope Chelle learns about this.

Let's hope now that chelle has qualify for the playoff he will change his tactics and play a compact midfield.
After all he's not under pressure to score many goals like in the qualifying round.

Nobody is really talking about Iwobi. That guy has not really be proving himself in the team. Iwobi should have been the one giving those passes chukwueze was giving to oshimen because he's the playmaker in the team.
How do you expect him to be creating chances when he is being used as a CM in a 2 man midfield and tasked with recovering and distributing posession?? Play Iwobi at AM and he will deliver..thats what he does for Fulham in that role

Not him:

1. Omanbala is a proud Igbo man and would not resist adding an igbo term to his moniker. Another moniker of his is OdenigboAroli

2. He would sound harsher than JamesSmith when discussing Iwobi. Like wayyyy harsher. Not mincing at all.

May be a little too "praisey" but you make sound points. Chukwueze is key to our creative plays and his skillset indeed makes him a game changer both through the middle and wingwards.
The few times he tried throughballs through the middle, the first one clicked. Another to Adams almost resulted in a goal too in the first half.

His second assist for Osimhen which came straight from the wing off a Frederick Throw in, was another example of how devastating Chuks' left foot can be when they send in crosses on time without dilly dallying.

A Chuks on the right, cutting into the central zones in midfield, penetrating the Right half space in the final third and also going on the outside on the right wing is devastating to watch. If only he can consistently keep alternating these approaches to stay unpredictable.

This is the kind of record we could have been a part of, but as with everything in Nigeria, people in positions of power are very unserious.

I don’t know what possessed them to hire Finidi George, when we have been asking for Amuneke for almost ten years. See how other countries are thriving when they hire the right ex-player, like we enjoyed Keshi.

And then there is us, hiring characters like Oliseh, and Finidi that was leaving tactics to divine intervention. Let me not even get into Eguaveon that flatters to deceive.

We had one coach that had proven himself on an international stage, and had worked under Keshi, to produce a successful senior team, and somehow, he was not the top choice all 7 or so times we needed a coach post-Keshi.

Anyway, see people that have sense

Are you insinuating that his confidence is fueled by his arrogance and lack of regard for authority on the field of play? He's meant to do a job and at an emergency time and he's failing woefully at it. Appreciate him? Abeg abeg abeg!!
Your conjecture while watching remotely can be very distant from what really transpired over there.
So do not just conclude.

Please please, please what did he fail woefully at?

this playoff is beginning to look like an opportunity for the team to play together and know themselves better ..... Chelle will take his time to study the team better .... my worry is Cameroun . , we may meet them , and we have beaten them several times times , they may see it as a time for revenge

This one is asking that Ghana gives him a chance to join their team to USA, but this was his response when Ghana called him in 2022.

This is the kind of humiliation some people want us to subject ourselves to because of some craps that have been rejected by England and co.

One game at a time Gabon with Aubameyang in his current form is a source of concern and worries. Let’s face Gabon and defeat them first before thinking of Cameroon who may not even beat DR Congo . Nigerians been too carried away easily occasionally

If we can’t beat Gabon and the other teams then we truly have no business at the World Cup! Honestly the African version of the play offs is a true test for the Eagles for us to know how serious they are and a very good prep for the Afcon.

we really underrated and came unprepared against teams like Lesotho,Zimbabwe and Benin at the start of the qualifiers…now we dare not underrate Drc,Gabon and Cameroon…
Nigeria and Cameroon were the sleeping giant of the group stage, Allowing teams Like SA and Capeverde top the group to qualify….DRC and Gabon is understandable, cos they had Senegal and CIV to contend with respectively….so it wasnt gonna b easy for them….i see both giant Nigeria and Cameroon waking up form to dispatch those teams to reach the final…
Nigeria vs Cameroon will be cr@zy….they will be very stubborn this time around

chukwueze obviously has a consistency problem. When he shows in subsequent performances that he can maintain his level, the better for him and us.

Awoniyi has 10 caps more than enough to show what he's about however I don't think his problem has been opportunity but injuries.

Nigeria is currently blessed with so many forwards that when Awoniyi is missing due to injury other forwards come in.

The competition for places in the striking department for anyone not named Osimhen is pretty intense that if you don't shine immediately you will lose your place. Guys like Sadiq, Onuachu, Moffi, Dessers, Tolu have struggled for game time in the SE with varying levels of effectiveness when they play.

The bottom line is no matter your status as a forward in club football if you don't make an instant impact with the national team you will be dropped for another option.

Don't forget that Awoniyi was part of the line up that failed to score against Lesotho including Boniface who is the only one you can argue was given very long rope.
I can't forget Awoniyi missing an open net in our first leg game against Zimbabwe.

He hasn't shown that he's a reliable backup.

SA eliminated Morroco at the last AFCON. Morocco has not won AFCON in 30 years. SA played only 3 matches away from home won 1, draw 1, lost 1. With our players fully fit during the qualifiers we would have won the group without stress.
Mind you SA won 1996 AFCON. Got to 2000 semis. SA is not a small team. Knocked out host Egypt at the 2018 AFCON
You are missing the point which is that they are improving, we are not, in fact we are retrogressing. Their stadium, league, administration, finance, football ecosystem is far more advanced than ours.

Children are like that. They are impulsive, they want everything now. No patience. If only we can be systematic to a degree. And it's not native to any people oo. It's learned behavior which over time becomes part of the culture of a people.

I think God wants us to qualify but learn a lesson first. That Lookman's selfishness and overdoing is one of the major reasons we've not been scoring goals. Guy is good no doubt, but he selfish make we talk true.

If he played that match I don't think we would have scored as many goals. His absense was a blessing in disguise. Though he's still the best partner for Osimhen upfront

Chelle really needs to talk to him.
Lookman is a selfish glory hunter.

There's truth in his statement oo. SA were not our mates a few years ago. We'd be pitted against them and nobody loses sleep. Today, they have become a thorn in our flesh even more than our traditional rivals. We found ourselves in the same group with them and they nicked the ticket even after 3 points were deducted. This is because they kept on improving their league and it has upped the quality of their national team.

Morocco is another team that has invested heavily in soccer and the results are tumbling in across all strata of footballing competitions.

We are still relying on talent. No structure, no system. The fact is that AS A PEOPLE we lack the mental fortitude to be systematic. Not just that we lack the fortitude, we hate anything systematic, we hate law and order. We like chaos, we even thrive in it because we are a childish and irresponsible people.
.

D generalisation of d last statement is nothing but morbid. Not all Nigerians are childish and irresponsible. There are many monikers on dis forum that I wish would go into politics and I swear I will sell all I av have to follow them, why-they present you undebatable and undeniable fact in their opinion, and you can see dat this people are meticulous in keeping records and they are "neaty picky"- they are thorough-bred gentlemen.
