I only met imperial leather. I was still using it in the early 2000s. Never used that iron box. Those plates were a must in every home. Mother's even built special cabinets for them just to show them off. The plates are never used until Christmas time. You are a dead child walking should you be washing that plate and it falls from your hands. It won't break since it is metal but the paint coating will come off. If that happens, look for the nearest butcher and submit yourself to be slaughtered. Because your mom is going to do worse than that to you.

That iron box is an old old thing. My late Grandma had one and we also inherited one from my uncles and aunts. I.used to store my school books and novels and my primary and junior school certificates in one. It followed us as we moved from.place. one day water entered our house and damaged all the books and certificates in the box. By that time we had moved to a new place but I was yet to move our things. Had to leave it there.
For that plate ehn!!
We had the storage basin of it back then. For the imperial leather. Man I used that soap well!!!!!

I remember all of them but Nigeria is still not bad as it is painted. the only problem is that the regulatory bodies has failed to carry out their jobs effectively.
Take imperial soap for example , I think it was the only soap in the market then where an average family of six could use to bath for a month because it was so durable and the lather was rich.
Even with a little left, the paper on the middle made it ideal to use and bath but today soaps and detergents manufacturers input various agents on their products that most soaps barely last a week for a single person and it's too tiny despite the price tag.

It was Elephant and Omo back then that was the biggest brand. We used more of Elephant in our home at the time.
There was this promo where the company made a customized Omo radio as their promo gift to be won.

Imperial Leather, Premier, Lux, Joy, Life Bouy, Asepsoap, Enckalon, tura, Medicare, Merico etc

I used all of this retro brands!!!
Merico was my late mum's favorite soap with Tura medicated. She had this Customer she buys from at the Agege roadside market (the old Agege that still boasts of the Cinema before it was closed)

Good old days indeed,
The imperial soap cannot be forgotten in a hurry,
That gum used to put the label on the soap is no longer available.

Imagine you using the soap till almost finished yet the gum is still holding the label.

If it were to be today, the label will go off immediately you opened the soap from the package.

Standard organization of Nigeria (SON) is no longer standing.
God please help Nigeria.
