That was when quality is called quality, with even at affordable rate..

This made me remember my grand pa, that what he normally buy for us, as I grew up in my family house, it has a very good small, you will finish bathing and it will still follow you outside even after you have clean your body with towel..

Abeg, that was when Nigeria was good, but now, dem don scattered am with greed

I used the soap. I remembered in 2016 or thereabout, a friend of mine sent a Malian or Nigerien house boy in Unilorin to get him Imperial Leather soap and the boy call it Imbaya leather.

Back then mothers only set this inside their room without using, but as a child if u mistakenly touch the arrangements u go collect slap wotowostic.

I remember all of them but Nigeria is still not bad as it is painted. the only problem is that the regulatory bodies has failed to carry out their jobs effectively.
Take imperial soap for example , I think it was the only soap in the market then where an average family of six could use to bath for a month because it was so durable and the lather was rich.
Even with a little left, the paper on the middle made it ideal to use and bath but today soaps and detergents manufacturers input various agents on their products that most soaps barely last a week for a single person and it's too tiny despite the price tag.

Why are we talking about Imperial leather in past tenses. The soap is still very much around with the same nostalgic scent we know.

Currently using it as I type and I savor each bath with that nostalgia that can never be expressed by words alone.

I only met imperial leather. I was still using it in the early 2000s. Never used that iron box. Those plates were a must in every home. Mother's even built special cabinets for them just to show them off. The plates are never used until Christmas time. You are a dead child walking should you be washing that plate and it falls from your hands. It won't break since it is metal but the paint coating will come off. If that happens, look for the nearest butcher and submit yourself to be slaughtered. Because your mom is going to do worse than that to you.
