My own major issue with this coastal highway fraud is the timing and priority, like, look at all the problems Nigeria is facing today then Tinubu decides to spend trillions that the government itself does not even know the exact total estimate and when the contract will end.

is this among the topmost priority in Nigeria as at today?
Only the media and the opposition (Atiku and OBi and OBIdients)make it the priority for criticism
Because, they see the project as a threat to South South votes

Many other projects are ongoing
Including badagry-Lagos expres road

Nearly all federal roads in Nigeria are gone while Tinubu pours away money on an elusive coastal road. Who will maintain the road built on an impossible swamp?

Contract inflation has always been the bane of Nigeria infrastructure development, even during 16 locust years of PDP.

Desperado Alhaji.....you can start by publishing the contractual agreement of all the government owned entities you sold to yourself and your cronies. You can start with Intels and Halliburton Scandal......

Did Atiku publish his own during the privatisation of national assets that he sold to his friends when he was in charge? Hypocrites! All of a sudden they know what to do when they are not in government.

8 billion can transform an entire village with feeder roads, community borehole water, a primary healthcare center, a secondary and primary school and a market stall

They’re using it for just one kilometer of road?
You for go ask your local government what they did with their own share of the FAAC allocation?

Re: Publish Contractual Details Of Lagos-calabar Coastal Highway, Atiku Tells FG by sexyice:
My thoughts comes from a neutral point of view. First off, if the figures are correct and the fed government is providing btw 15 and 30% of the capital needed for the coastal road which is estimated to cost about $11 billion, then it means whom ever is funding the remaining 70% owns the coastal road and Nigerians will be the ones to pay the rest of it including the interest for a very long time to come, because the road will be tolled, my understanding is whomever funds the rest of the budget practically owns the coastal road until all debts and interests are paid in full, which would take decades. It's unfortunate that in nigeria, there is too much misplaced priority because why start or embark on a project of such magnitude without the financial backing to see it through and rather have the country indebted for years to come.

No
They are not obligated to except for the Senate

That road must be completed that is the most important thing

No time for silly distractions by featherweights looking for relevance

If Atiku doesn't like it then campaign for the Badagry to Sokoto highway be scrapped but as for the Lagos Calabar Highway God Almighty has signed and delivered it and even Gods Glorious Chariot Angels will travel on it delivering blessings

Are you saying Tinubu is only doing things he is doing because of votes?

Is that what he became president for?

It is not among the top priorities since it has to do with South , nobody is even talking about Badagry-sokoto axis because it has to do with the North. If they think the coastal highway is not necessary they should also stop the one heading to sokoto. Na southern Nigeria mumu pass

Foolish people.Otti in Abia is doing his mediocre road in Abia for #6 billion per km.Umahi said the coastal road with its coastal road accessories et al will averagely cost #7.5 billion.
All the ones that previous govts budgeted and ended up swallowing the money like the 2nd Niger bridge (that Buhari later executed ),the railways, the $16 billion dollar electricity fraud, the Ajaokuta steel complex, the CCTV multibillion dollar project in Abuja, the humongous money budgeted for Abuja yearly (just under 3 years,Wike has done more projects than all the previous FCT ministers)and a host of other frauds perpetrated by even Atiku under Obasanjo.

Atiku is stupendously and dangerously corrupt....Obasabjo.

If most past govts, even after inflating their contracts (they will surely inflate it even Umahi,it is in their blood) have gone ahead executing them,Nigeria would have been better than South Africa.

Most Nigerians know they will steal from the money of the projects but let them execute them. The problem of Nigeria is projects not being executed but budgeted for yearly.
We have abandoned projects all over the country.Very wicked people.

Both are not of top priority now, the Sokoto own isn't as to as top as the coastal own to Tinubu, reason why people are focusing on the coastal own, it has nothing to do with region...

You people do not know much about development. Infrastructures hasten the development of nations all over the world.Roads open the gate for economic development of any nation and quickens its progress.A govt just doesn't face one sector of the polity.Do you know how many roads USA have?Biden built roads and Trump is still building roads.
Stop the dumb narrative that they should only rehabilitate the existing roads (fortunately, they are being rehabilitated).
That is unprogressive. All the previous govts have been rehabilitating these existing roads, using them to defraud Nigerians.
Criticise positively for the progress of NIgerians.

As I read your first line I didn't bother reading the rest, do you know why?

The very same people hailing and praising these projects Tinubu is doing also praised Buhari for the ones he was doing for 8 years including Tinubu himself while people like us were calling him out, only to turn around to start insulting him that he destroyed Nigeria, today you want us to believe you people know what you are doing?

We know much about development, it is you people and Tinubu who do not know...

In short, you don't want them to do that project.
Why?

It is not a top priority for now in Nigeria, the same way Buhari took on projects that were not of top priority, today the country is paying dearly for it...

People criticized the railway Buhari was doing to Niger republic, people criticized many other projects, it was people like you who were supporting Tinubu that either kept quiet or supported those projects, so please don't make look like a north vs south thing, the projects are not of top priority as at today....

The majority of people that criticized that railway are from the South . How many northern elites came out to criticize it, even this useless Atiku couldn’t find his voice then. Make dem do the road

And how many northerners have come out to criticize the coastal road?

Is it not the same southerners that are criticizing the coastal road?

So it has nothing to do with region, just common sense and logic, the priority is not needed as at now...

Atiku is Right this need a public document disclosure... actually it is more than that 8 billion naira cos × 750 km will give you just over 6 trillion naira. The Minister has stated publicly very clearly on Arise Tv some months aback that Total cost is 11.1 billion USD = over 16 Trillion using (1455 naira rate to Dollar) Therefore 750 km will give this Lagos & Ebonyi 😡😡 CRIMINALS 14.8 million USD per kilometers = over 21 billion naira per km. NEPAL have done the needful, Madagascar have done theirs, When will it happen in Nigeria?😡
