How can humans ever envisage of planning a coup against the demigod without him knowing before hand.

The problem with humans is that, they always fail to acknowledge the powers, reach dominance and political tentacles of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)

It’s okay to be inspired by others that might have happened in Africa, but not okay when you fail to acknowledge the force you up against in your own case.
Stop this ascription of overestimated political intelligence. Be thankful that it didn't happen. I am glad it didn't anyway. Military rule is a lawless system where a few individuals become the law and the supposed order.

Only those who probably were unborn or too young to understandably witness military administrations will think the uniform guys are better. If they took power, we won't be on this forum expressing divergent political opinions without fear of disappearing mysteriously.

No matter what, I will always pray against a military rule. Na small children dey think say military dictatorship na fun. Make una ask una papa how far that year. Many didn't know how incapacitated President Buhari felt as a civilian leader. Dude wished it was 1984 when he could act unilaterally, arbitrarily and ruthlessly. That's why he struggled to govern as a civilian leader. He saw being a civilian president as bound in shackles. Thus he grew aloof and let things run anyhow.

Military dictatorship doesn't belong in this age.

2025. Planning a military coup successfully in Nigeria would be extremely hard.

The government would ensures that the soldiers now easily checkmate themselves.
It might not be as hard as you think.

But really has there been freedom of speech with people being arrested here and there for talking against the government? So what is different from military regime?

Any coup at this point will be the end of Nigeria. We either practice democracy or we go our way. The era of illegitimate northern rule through military coup is over.

Again, President Tinubu needs to fast track the reform of the military. The military must be decentralized with military equipment equally shared to the six regions. The era of over concentration of military weapons in the north must come to an end immediately.
Are you sure about that? Tinubu's SA on New Media had a different opinion about that during GEJ.

The military said there was no coup attempt. Why are you getting worked up? It is rather Tinubu who's attempting a coup by doing all he can to undemocratically run unopposed in 2027. Nigerians don't need a coup to retire Tinubu. He will be defeated fair and square at the polls. Let him just commit to a credible election without cutting corners and attempting to bend the electoral rules.

Our election in recent years are now far better. What we need is for losers to accept defeat and stop lying that they won an election they lost. Clowns like Atiku and Peter Obi both went to court to claim they won the same election. Where is the sincerity to start with?

No, the situation is different now, the contemporary world is now all about alignment. The only reason military coup was popular then is because of foreign interest or influence.

Once there is no real interest/influence from a powerful blocs, the other sections of the country that have competitive advantages will be listen to by international community.

Which coup? I prefer to stick with the official position that there was no coup attempt in the country. Thanks. The only coup attempt I'm aware enough is Tinubu destroying the two major opposition parties that produced the first and second runner-ups in 2023 and poaching all the 36 state governors through a combination of coercion, inducement, SOE, threats and subterfuge so he can run unopposed.

Your plans will not work. Those people you pray to die most times even live to witness your end. Look at IBB, his burial was celebrated and his coffin carried and nailed by many who are no more alive today.

So, be careful what you wish for others.

Tinubu has super majority in a rubber stamp assembly. There's no excuse for not restructuring. Yorubas should not come in the future to shout restructuring when the presidency moves to another region

Why Military Coup Is Hard in Nigeria

I once asked a recently retired Major General in the Nigerian Army why coups no longer happen easily in Nigeria. He explained that things changed drastically after the attempted coup that nearly claimed the life of former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

According to him, the military intelligence system was completely overhauled after that incident. It became so advanced, sophisticated, and deeply embedded across all security units that planning or executing a coup today is almost impossible without being detected early.

That’s why, since that time, Nigeria hasn’t witnessed a single successful coup.

He said Babangida called Abacha to save him that it was Abacha that saved him from the shame and what later happened was agreement between him and Abacha.

Say Babangida was under one underground road at Dodan Barracks Lagos that the Military already took over and Abacha sent thousands of troops from outside to come in when he sent save our soul to Abacha

After the coup, Babangida immediately took FCT to North where he feels safer .
Tinubu can run it to Lagos where he feels safer too.

@Ditari of ijaw.biteray is among them that why they didn't succeed

Democracy all the way!
No to military governance.
It's not only shameful but rather unbelievable that some disgruntled elements would destroy our gains on democracy.

What did we gain in all the accumulated years of military rule?

Nothing but one man show of draconian laws.
No matter the situation, we stand %100 with the leadership of Asiwaju, if anyone care's to challenge this, kindly use the ballot boxes not the barrels.
