I can bet they were no coup platters. This is a ruse raised to scare potential coup platters in future. Despite all the defections to APC, Tinubu knows that his government is out of sync with Nigerians.

If APC rigs 2027 presidential election, that shall be the end of APC in power.

Why Military Coup Is Hard in Nigeria

I once asked a recently retired Major General in the Nigerian Army why coups no longer happen easily in Nigeria. He explained that things changed drastically after the attempted coup that nearly claimed the life of former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

According to him, the military intelligence system was completely overhauled after that incident. It became so advanced, sophisticated, and deeply embedded across all security units that planning or executing a coup today is almost impossible without being detected early.

That’s why, since that time, Nigeria hasn’t witnessed a single successful coup.

He said Babangida called Abacha to save him that it was Abacha that saved him from the shame and what later happened was agreement between him and Abacha.

Say Babangida was under one underground road at Dodan Barracks Lagos that the Military already took over and Abacha sent thousands of troops from outside to come in when he sent save our soul to Abacha

After the coup, Babangida immediately took FCT to North where he feels safer .
Tinubu can run it to Lagos where he feels safer too.

I hope Tinubu would use this opportunity to address the daring issues in the land and stop playing to the gallery cos this may not be the end. He's a bloody civilian and the military can do anything. It's only in Nigeria that military would be asked to fight on empty stomach while the president is flying up and down without results, wasting tax payers money. What happemed at oke ode alone was an eye sore. Ive not been able to make regular posts about tinubu here since it happened. I had simply concluded that tinubu had failed woefully. The economic hardship is unprecedented in the land. Imagine a family man approaching you in Lagos that things were crumbling and he's feeling depressed cos nothing to feed the family. This was the man who once had a thriving career.

He had better do something oo, cos anything can still happen, even in the next 24 hrs.

We know how is used to happen in dodan barracks back then. If you know what a military rule is you wouldn't say what you are saying. You will never have the freedom to say half of what you say here. They don't believe in court or rule of law. They might decide to kill Kanu or lock him up and throw the keys away and nothing will happen. Major nations will declare Nigeria a pariah nation. The sanctions will hurt the poor more.

2027 will be impossible to rig. The momentum against the president will be too heavy heading into the election that it will become clear to all and sundry that the "guy is gone".

Not surprised at all and definitely there would be another attempt , if the current insecurity in the nation continues . The military are losing good men and fathers to this insecurity issue and most likely they see the politicians as been complicit in the problem. The best thing will be for Tinubu to quickly find a lasting solution to the banditry problem .. because if soldiers revolts in this Nigeria , it will be bloody ooo
