Vision101:
You think that a coup will affect only Tinubu? You are very naive. All levels of government will be sacked. The constitution will be suspended. Sowore cannot protest otherwise he's gone. Major nations will sanction Nigeria. The poor will suffer most. The military corruption is A1 and you dare not talk or you are killed or locked up. Where is Dele Giwa? Where is Gloria Okon?
Hahahaha.... Nigeria is too big and too divided to be fully controlled by any illegitimate power, foreign or local.
90% of the problems tinubu is facing now and continue to face is because he rigged his way through. Even his enemies knows this. And they know if he is terminated no body will lose sleep except his family.
The current decamping into APC is about something big. Nigeria will be divided into north and south. He needs full support and absolute control of the legislature to start the movement.
The North can't endure him rule for another 2yrs let alone 8 years.
But it wouldn't have been this way, if Obi wasn't rigged out.
As it stands today, Obi is the only uniting force the entire country will allow to govern if he's president.
The same people that rigged tinubu in, knows where all the bodies are buried and won't quit until he's cut down.
If he's out through mutiny, and someone like mnk is released, kanu can mobilize the entire south east and some parts of south South for secession. The Yorubas will definitely need a figure like KANU but they don't have for now so the best they could do is to form one southern block called southern Nigeria and then break, then spend the next 3yrs to stabilize with the help of Trump.
For this to work, the Igbos are highly needed.
So yeah anyhow it turns out as long as KANU is out, it gets the Igbos closer to their self determination.

Any coup at this point will be the end of Nigeria. We either practice democracy or we go our way. The era of illegitimate northern rule through military coup is over.

Again, President Tinubu needs to fast track the reform of the military. The military must be decentralized with military equipment equally shared to the six regions. The era of over concentration of military weapons in the north must come to an end immediately.
Good and humane governance is the anti-dote to coup.

Why Military Coup Is Hard in Nigeria

I once asked a recently retired Major General in the Nigerian Army why coups no longer happen easily in Nigeria. He explained that things changed drastically after the attempted coup that nearly claimed the life of former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

According to him, the military intelligence system was completely overhauled after that incident. It became so advanced, sophisticated, and deeply embedded across all security units that planning or executing a coup today is almost impossible without being detected early.

That’s why, since that time, Nigeria hasn’t witnessed a single successful coup.

He said Babangida called Abacha to save him that it was Abacha that saved him from the shame and what later happened was agreement between him and Abacha.

Say Babangida was under one underground road at Dodan Barracks Lagos that the Military already took over and Abacha sent thousands of troops from outside to come in when he sent save our soul to Abacha

After the coup, Babangida immediately took FCT to North where he feels safer .
Tinubu can run it to Lagos where he feels safer too.

@Ditari of Ijaw.
He actually sidelined you from the true reality of why coup can never happen, majority of those military officers are now partisan, which is not supposed to be they are supposed to be neutral; the most important part is that they are……………………,., nor be my mouth you want hear that one sha think it through for yourself nor be everything dem dey tell person 🤭😂

Are you sure we are practicing democracyhuh In a democracy, the people are allowed to elect their leaders. Not so in Nigeria where the results of elections are usually written before voting starts.

The decision to move FCT to the north of abuja was taken under Murtala not IBB who fast tracked it.

LOL... That's a very poor way to reason. You assume the military too won't be corrupt but theirs has always been worse, besides, those ones can decide to start picking anyone who says anything against them online and offline, freedom of speech, gone!

We've had coups happen in Nigeria before, in fact in the 70s and 80s it was the order of the day, so it's something that has been done and never yielded any result. The solution is for us to make sure we hold whoever is elected accountable. If they don't want to hear word, use social media, protest, votes and your voice to fight for yourself.
Your last line of statement is very funny.
It should happen, those targeted were fit targets especially Akpabio that laughs at the suffering of the Masses

I do not see any saviors in the Nigerian military of today.......any coup will plunge Nigeria to its inevitable demise! Let us continue with our kurukere democracy , its better than a military regime and its instability!

U better don't deceive yourself.
If any coup ends Tinubu govt, nothing will happen.
Tinubu is too divisive and his govt very unpopular for any reasonable protest to follow collapse of his tribalistic govt.

So long as the coup plotters are northerners, the north will care less.
The south south and southeast will simply give a shrug a d move on with their lives.
Even in the west, majority are already fatigued with his govt and would care less.

Funny 🤣 postulations. You obviously don't know Nigeria. FYI I'm an igbo like you. The North was beginning to have a change of heart to allow an igbo man be at the center in spite of our poor politics. With what Kanu's insults to them and now Obi's bigotry which is very open it's bye bye to the center for now.

Even if there's a coup it will still be a northerner. Kanu will either be locked up permanently or released with strong conditions. As a military government he will dare not flout them. Our people don't like being realistic.

It's not true. They would have not threatened democracy but a few people who feel they can arrogate power to themselves and manipulate certain human beings to do their biddings. Who have pocketed the destiny of millions of people. Honestly you would have seen the kind of celebration that would have erupted....
