Nigerians are not ipob or you from the East. We know how much we fought for this democracy n not ready to lose it to your senseless hate.

We know how it cost MKO Abiola while you hero was taking up appointment from Abacha who killed them. History will never forget n we also will not.

Don't forget that Past GOVTS - include Former Military 🪖- Babangida,Abacha,Buhari, Obasanjo,etc- they were all there( there ) in the Military then,
•BUT, IF THEY HAVE DONE WELL, WOULD NOT NIGERIA-HAVE Moved FORWARD ⏩?
WE ALL KNOW THEIR ROLES,BUT FOR ANY ONE TO SAY HE/ SHE -WILL BE HAPPY - NA DEVILISH ACT BE THAT.
THE DEMOCRATIC GOVT-WE ENJOY TODAY( Free Speech,Association, etc,
-SOME PAY FOR IT WITH THEIR LIVES- e.g. MKO Abiola and many Other Nigerians!

Bad civilian rule is better than a military rule..
The people that took away history from the school curriculum really did us bad.
One of the reasons Nigeria is struggling today is because of Nigeria history of military regimes.
When countries of the world were progressing we were doing coups from 1966 to 1999. Corruption and 419 are some of the benefits of the military,
During military regimes the administrator of each state will be posted from Abuja.
The government in charge of Anambra may be a Yoruba or hausa man.
All his friends will be in charge along with their wives and girlfriends.
The only thing the citizens can do is grumble in their houses make any funny comment they will carry you and feed their lions in secret dens.
Indomine generation should rather request for accountability from the government.

LOL... That's a very poor way to reason. You assume the military too won't be corrupt but theirs has always been worse, besides, those ones can decide to start picking anyone who says anything against them online and offline, freedom of speech, gone!

We've had coups happen in Nigeria before, in fact in the 70s and 80s it was the order of the day, so it's something that has been done and never yielded any result. The solution is for us to make sure we hold whoever is elected accountable. If they don't want to hear word, use social media, protest, votes and your voice to fight for yourself.
You people should stop saying this because it's irritating. How do you hold a Nigerian politician accountable? In serious societies, strong institutions are built to engender checks and balances, thereby holding office holders accountable.

In Nigeria, politicians have made sure the institutions remain weak and keep running political parties without ideology. That's why politicians keep changing parties like their boxers.

Since Tinubu came in, there's no positive reform that he can be remembered for. All APC does is have a bunch of online warriors defending everything their politicians do and gaslighting Nigerians. Try to hold a Nigerian politician accountable and see how 20.10.20 will happen to you.

Nigeria is no longer in early 90's, military government can't control Nigeria ever again.
Rest! Nobody can end one Nigeria until all the ethnic nationalities agree it's time to end it. Tinubu is destroying this country and laptop boyz are all over the place gaslighting Nigerians.

There's no single positive reform this government will be remembered for. As bad as Buhari was, he kept the fuel subsidy because he knew the impact it would have on ordinary people. Buhari kept saying that he didn't want Nigerians to suffer. That was a man with empathy.

Tinubu removed the subsidy, he's giving all the subsidy money to fellow politicians in the state and getting them to join his party. This government has no human face and you expect everyone to be happy with them because some selfish politicians are decamping to APC!

No to military governance.
It's not only shameful but rather unbelievable that some disgruntled elements would destroy our gains on democracy.

What did we gain in all the accumulated years of military rule?

Nothing but one man show of draconian laws.
No matter the situation, we stand %100 with the leadership of Asiwaju, if anyone care's to challenge this, kindly use the ballot boxes not the barrels.
While I cannot endorse military rule whatsoever, let me be clear that the best infrastructure we had in this country was built by the military....from 3MB to the refineries. These politicians haven't been able to achieve anything significant for the country. They are just there to suppress and oppress.

Any coup at this point will be the end of Nigeria. We either practice democracy or we go our way. The era of illegitimate northern rule through military coup is over.

Again, President Tinubu needs to fast track the reform of the military. The military must be decentralized with military equipment equally shared to the six regions. The era of over concentration of military weapons in the north must come to an end immediately.
Well said

Just imagine from 1966 to 1999 we only got the 3MB .when even in Lagos alone we got both blue and red line rail in 6 years.

I'm talking about 4 major refineries that generated billions of dollars for the country, created massive jobs and increased Nigeria's GDP. The same refineries that politicians couldn't maintain or build new ones.

Did I fail to mention that the military built several seaports that we enjoy today? These politicians couldn't even build Ibom seaport. Everything na politics.

FYI, soldiers built railway across the country, connecting key cities and rural areas. These politicians couldn't maintain them. Perhaps you don't know what's happening around you.

For you lots, Nigeria starts and ends in Lagos. The same railway project they have borrowed your futures to build.

PS: I can never support military rule, but these politicians in power are a bunch of failures!

tables has turned. As far as I’m concerned. It’s fight between SW and the northern. When you guys were in honeymoon after marriage, nobody invited us.
We don’t care how it unfolds and anything that will take Tinubu out of power is welcomed. First time in history a president wants to form monarchy with his family

if it happens what will you do? Take up arms against the military? Funny. Anyway I don't think a military govt can move this country forward but this is a wake up call for the politicians, you cannot keep acting with impunity like the current president and his people are doing and not expect any reaction.

Why Military Coup Is Hard in Nigeria

I once asked a recently retired Major General in the Nigerian Army why coups no longer happen easily in Nigeria. He explained that things changed drastically after the attempted coup that nearly claimed the life of former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida.

According to him, the military intelligence system was completely overhauled after that incident. It became so advanced, sophisticated, and deeply embedded across all security units that planning or executing a coup today is almost impossible without being detected early.

That’s why, since that time, Nigeria hasn’t witnessed a single successful coup.

He said Babangida called Abacha to save him that it was Abacha that saved him from the shame and what later happened was agreement between him and Abacha.

Say Babangida was under one underground road at Dodan Barracks Lagos that the Military already took over and Abacha sent thousands of troops from outside to come in when he sent save our soul to Abacha

After the coup, Babangida immediately took FCT to North where he feels safer .
Tinubu can run it to Lagos where he feels safer too.

Stop this ascription of overestimated political intelligence. Be thankful that it didn't happen. I am glad it didn't anyway. Military rule is a lawless system where a few individuals become the law and the supposed order.

Only those who probably were unborn or too young to understandably witness military administrations will think the uniform guys are better. If they took power, we won't be on this forum expressing divergent political opinions without fear of disappearing mysteriously.

No matter what, I will always pray against a military rule. Na small children dey think say military dictatorship na fun. Make una ask una papa how far that year. Many didn't know how incapacitated President Buhari felt as a civilian leader. Dude wished it was 1984 when he could act unilaterally, arbitrarily and ruthlessly. That's why he struggled to govern as a civilian leader. He saw being a civilian president as bound in shackles. Thus he grew aloof and let things run anyhow.

Military dictatorship doesn't belong in this age.
even as a military leader Buhari was reputed to be hands off, his 2ic( second in command) was said to be running things.

No, the situation is different now, the contemporary world is now all about alignment. The only reason military coup was popular then is because of foreign interest or influence.

Once there is no real interest/influence from a powerful blocs, the other sections of the country that have competitive advantages will be listen to by international community.
what about the numerous coups that have happened in Africa recently?
