The point on size if government is well taken. That's correct.

The more important parameter is the FUNCTIONS of government, which determines the size (number of employees).

For example, privatizing Ajaokuta Steel will immediately reduce the number of government employees. And the wage bill will also go down.

Ajaokuta Steel is a monument of corruption, people get jobs there by political patronage and then get paid for producing NOTHING. Selling it off will therefore automatically reduce official corruption.

The Department of Education in the USA is a massive duplication and ursupation of State Government functions. Abolishing it will reduce the size and expense of government and also reduce corruption.

The USA Federal Agencies involved in housing subsidies and finance should be abolished. They crashed the world economy in 2008. Why does the entire Department of Housing & Urban Development even exist?

I am not disagreeing with you. My own Orolu Local Government is bloated because every local government chairman employs more staff, though there's no work for them to do. Those who come to the local government just sit around doing nothing, and there's loads more collecting wages without ever working at all. Some have even lived in UK for years. Yet, we can not find anyone to staff the local government library.

I've benefitted from UK socialist healthcare. I used to moan at my National Insurance Contributions until it saved my life. There's no way I could have bought the care I got if I'd been relying on my personal insurance or funds, and trying would have significantly negatively impacted my living.
