Lol. Majority of African Twitter is rooting for Gabon against Nigeria in the upcoming playoffs because of the Burkina Faso situation. This is hilarious, but it also shows you how easy it is for people to be dishonest and argue out of ignorance with all confidence.

I can understand getting upset that the rules didn't favor you, but trying to make it come across like it was Nigeria's fault is where these bumbling clowns lose me.
i dont even understand the hate. We werent even in the second place picture till osimhen scored in the first half of the final matchday. The circular for the deduction had already been out way back since march when they were still 6 more matches to be played. Its normal to blame us really. When in grief, people usually target the less powerful to blame and rather than the direct culprit.

That 2nd place qualification na just excuse and camouflage oh

The real reason is as long as Africa is concerned, be it sport or what so ever we are the top guns, so the pull him down syndrome is inevitable.

To be fair, I wasn't comparing them to the likes of Spain and Argentina etc. lol. That would be a stretch obviously. I'm talking of comparative performance among CAF teams. Cameroon, Morocco and Nigeria have had the most WC appearances. Given the overall poor performance of CAF teams in general when it comes to the World Cup, the fact that they have been frequent competitors is relatively impressive.

CAF teams obviously need to step up their game, but I'm just drawing the line between teams like Cameroon and for instance... Mali, when it comes to global competitions.
Use this table as guide when discussing the performance of Nigeria and other African teams at the world cup

This is why I want us to go to the World Cup! WE WILL COOK!

Make them first give us Jordan for a start 😂
Nigeria always does well against medium European teams. We have beaten Greece, Bulgaria twice , Bosnia, and Iceland, we were leading Greece 🇬🇷 in 2010 until Sani Kaita madness. We always are unlucky to meet Argentina always. We also always overcome teams from Asia. Our biggest issue is SouthAmerican teams.
In 2018 world cup Senegal had Poland, Japan and Colombia. If we had that kind of group we would have qualified to the second round. Our group had Eventual finalists Croatia, Argentina and Iceland 🇮🇸, and Iceland was really good that period.

Even if they give us say SouthKorea, Or Saudi or Watar, plus Mediun Euro team like Austria , Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 or Czech Republic and Big team like Argentina 🤣😁. We should qualify.
Argentina
Korea
Austria
Nigeria

THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS I REDUCED MY ENGAGEMENT ON THIS PARTICULAR THREAD: SOME INDIVIDUALS ARE SHAMELESS MYOPIC TRIBAL BIGOTS.
.

I don't think people are what you called them but I would rather say impatient, an example will suffice, look at BenFred he was given a chance and he instantaneously took it with both hands but can we say dsame about Onuachu?

With d plethora of attackers we have it will be difficult for any coach to keep on giving chances to a particular player for a long spell of time, d fans, sport jounos will roast such a coach. So IMO opinion when he's given another chance he should take it with both hands dat even when he didn't score fans will not have the temerity to castigate him.

Onuachu is outscoring Osimhen in the same league and no one is moved. Even MkpuOgaliga(Idenna) isn't complaining.

Imagine, if the name wasn't Onuachu but Awoniyi, one tribal bigot would have been here displaying his madness.
Hmm! like those that displayed their madness by insinuating their own tribe are the only one that knows our to play football in the whole world but reverse is the case when we look at the reality. What do we call them? Delusional beings?

Yekini was scoring 4 goals in a game and winning AFCON highest goalscorer before Oliseh and Okocha ever smelt the SE.

My bro, the unseen rule in Yeking era was always pass to Yeking. If you fail to pass to him, you will be dropped. Ask Siaone. If lookman and Simon had existed in that era. They will be permanent bench warmers or may not be in the team at all. If the era of the 2 players were to be switched, Yekini will suffer in this era. QED. Yekini was a cock and shoot with precision player. Pls don't make it look like he scores 4 goals like water. He only achieved it once and that's against Burkinafaso. And guess who was giving him the assists.

CAF Champions League Battle today.

Yesterday Rivers Utd fell 1-0 away to Black Bulls in Maputo. Hopefully they overturn the result in the 2nd leg in Nigeria and make the money spinning group stage of the competition.

But today, Naija League Champs, Remo Stars face one of Africa's Best and Biggest Clubsides... Mamelodi Sundowns.

Omo... I hope Daniel Ogunmodede and Tiago Conde are ready for this.

We can reel out our Gold,Silver and Bronze winning teams in male and female football and it resonates that names that sound like Victor Osimhen, Odion Ighalo, Chukwueze, Esther Okoronkwo, Perpetual Nkwocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Ikpeba etc are mostly the ones delivering the goods for the country in football.

While this kind of comment I made is a good example of inclination towards tribal bigotry despite being half-truth, it should be discouraged especially if repeated and echoed severally. This is what goes on by some other folks often times subtly, and often times glaringly

Remember, Ajibade won the MVP recently and Oshola can be said to be the greatest Nigeria female footballer, even though personally I would rate Mercy Akhide ahead of him.
Also, thankfully, Osimhen, Ikpeba and Ighalo are from Edo State. Chukwueze shouldn't be in this list

Mercy Akhide and Perpetua Nkwocha were somewhat better in terms of final delivery than Oshoala. Rasheedat is an excellent player same as Asisat. I know the players from Edo state as I have affiliation to both Edo and Igbo. I only stated an example of what some folks on Nairaland do repeatedly in the name of comments and writeups leaning towards tribal sentiments which I think should stop.

Omo 😮 It looked like that Simon's cutback was destined for Onyeka alone, all attempts from all the players to get on the ball failed until it escaped them all and landed on an onrushing, unmarked Onyeka's feet. Thank God no player touched the ball if not, the goal wouldn't have happened. And thank God it didn't fall on Ndidi. He would have wasted it. That was probably our last chance of the game. Jehova I thank you o 😮

The same korea SE struggled to beat in 2010 and yak missed an open goal or the same medium european who you struggle to beat in2014 and 2018? Aside from 94 and 98, the SE has been shambolic against opposition of any confederation yet some people will be goofing around because they qualified for play offs they are not sure of when their mates qualified directly
