There were a few protesters outside the US embassy, and they were likely Americans fleeing dump.

Our king is not a despot! We don't want rid of him.
So they left a country without a King for a country with a King to protest about No Kings

Got you. You now see why normal people think Democrats are loonies

We don't need to protest because we have already protested and stripped the Royalty of all powers, you'd know if you read some history.

I feel you. It must be very difficult for you to understand that King Charles III is not anywhere near like wannabe king dump.

You just go check how many executive orders King Charles and his mother before him signed, and you might understand the difference.
10yrs ago, no one in Trump's family line was president, in the next 10yrs no one in Trump's family line will be

On the flip side, in your entire life, and even kn our grandparents, someone from Charles lineage has been king and will still be king in 100yrs time

Did that make them Kings too

You know you ought to provide source for this instead of asking me to go look for it, right?

But let's assume you aren't lying. Are you juxtaposing this against registrations for the Democrat Party, like everyone who opposes dump should?

I like to wait for elections myself. Vote for dump!

Is dump being accused of being a king because he signed executive orders?

I am not disagreeing with you. My own Orolu Local Government is bloated because every local government chairman employs more staff, though there's no work for them to do. Those who come to the local government just sit around doing nothing, and there's loads more collecting wages without ever working at all. Some have even lived in UK for years. Yet, we can not find anyone to staff the local government library.

Which is why I've selected the above from yours, and even left in your "Good luck", though I don't agree with luck.

Is it really "the FUNCTIONS of government" which determine size, or the purpose of those that are elected to form the government?

I ask because I'm trying to figure out what the function of my Orolu Local Government might be, if we have one at all.

I'd have appreciated dump's staff cuts if they were not biased and unAmerican.
What is biased and un-American about cutting inefficiency. That is actually the main thing that distinguish America from other countries

If you notice that in Orolu, imagine how much of that goes on in the American govt.

Go into a typical driver's license office or social security office and see inefficiency

There was a time people took entire days off work just to queue in social security office

Asking staffers to list 5 things they worked on this week and send to their managers caused so much anger and uproar. Things that are normal for many private sector workers

A better directed DOGE, yes. And past governors have tried, mind.

Bisi Akande, Governor 29 May 1999 – 29 May 2003, told his kitchen staff to stop killing 2 cows everyday in the governor's house because only his wife and he lived there and they can't eat 2 cows. From now on they must buy only 2 kilogramme of meat a day.

The people said he's selfish, that only he wants to eat. They labelled him Baba kilo, and kicked him out in one term.

Aregbesola, holding my nose, Governor 27 November 2010 – 27 November 2018, said he can't pay the bloated wage bill of Osun State, he had to let about a third of them go. The unions said no. "How could you? Don't you know government wage is all many families live on?"

So he offered half wage for a short while, that ended up like half wage every second month, and many wailed.

Which is why I'd argue that it is the people who are responsible for the leaders they elect and how or whether they monitor what they do, and for letting them know if it's liked or not by voting them in or out.

This, after all, is why you blame Palestinians for what the Hamas they elected did on October 7, no? And why we blame maga yous for dump.
I am also familiar with the politics of Osun state especially in the era of Bisi Akande. The state teaching staff was so bloated where in one school like Fakunle in Osogbo you will have 10 Yoruba teachers but one Maths teacher. No chemistry teacher one Physics teacher who is likely a PTA teacher. Bisi Akande retired those who where not adding much value paid them gratuity but that act made him lose reelection

His successor came and rehired everyone of them and the people became happy. That hefty wage bill plus pension will ensure that limited funds are left for capital project

Similar happened in Ekiti where teachers were told to do a competence test. Where the pass mark was a 50% in Waec standard of the subject you are teaching
That gesture lost Fayemi his election in 2014

There are some Nigerian govt agencies whose duties are duplicated and many just collect allocation

People have seen govt as welfare and our share of the bounty

This mentality pervades every society which is why reduction in the size of govt should be encouraged.

In the US. The govt debt increased from 35 trillion to around 49 trillion in the last 6yrs.
We heard it was because of covid, now covid is over the size of govt remained the same. There will come a time if this isnt controlled will consume all of us and the proposed solution is always to increase taxes

You seem to like to not associate who's asking from the question or think it doesn't matter, and you don't even consider whom you are asking.

I'll skip the first as there's no point rehashing Musk, but imagine the binperson. All he does is wake up at five 5-6 days a week and collect bins till say, 10am, done. What 5 things does he write?

And imagine the lawyer, juggling lots of cases in court. Can you understand the disdain at being asked such a question of which one would be, I responded to your stupīd question?

I worked in both sectors, and no one has ever asked me to "list 5 things they worked on this week and send to their managers". As a manager, I'd be insulting my own intelligence if I don't know what my staff that I am responsible for paying are working on such that I need to ask them to send me a list. In fact, my staff will not respect me ever again if I disrespect them that much, and I think that is so not normal, it is abnormal.

A good one, no? Considering the current system leaves so many without healthcare because they can't afford to call an ambulance?

I've benefitted from UK socialist healthcare. I used to moan at my National Insurance Contributions until it saved my life. There's no way I could have bought the care I got if I'd been relying on my personal insurance or funds, and trying would have significantly negatively impacted my living.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1127305/

Add education as co number one justification for socialism, because it reduces the uneducated in the society.

US can not socialise healthcare, though I should never say never. And UK is trying hard to privatise more of ours.
There's some good justification for socialized healthcare that outweighs the negatives. No doubt about it. To repeat my mantra on this issue, healthcare is a non-voluntary consumer demand service and public risk that is not amenable to free market mechanisms. That's all there is to it and that comes with consequences.

Unfortunately, EVERYTHING owned or run by government - especially in ethnically, religiously or racially diverse countries - eventually breaks down and precipitates financial or even macro-economic disaster. It has already happened in the UK and Canada, the healthcare in all the Western European democracies only survive because they're subsidized by the USA.

It also happened in Sweden where government used to own and operate all retail pharmacies for instance. Finances, service and quality got so bad they privatized the entire sub sector in 2009. That's Sweden, the darling of socialists everywhere.

The burden of paying for healthcare in Canada is now so heavy the government is encouraging people to commit suicide.

The Cuban health system is a horrible mess. Anyone can go check it out.

One clear overriding principle though is that healthcare systems can thrive only when supported by a wealthy and productive economy. How does a country build such prosperity? By applying free market capitalism. When people get rich, they tend to voluntarily spend on healthcare and are more willing to pay private market prices. A population with high income also tends to pay more taxes, though policy makers must keep the Lafer Curve in mind as they plan for revenue generation.

These are simple things but when did humans ever value truth? Truth is hard to take.

Thank you.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

Functions of government are determined by the Basic Law of Nigeria, which is the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. There's all kinds of reasons for bloated government in Nigeria. No need to go into all that beyond saying again that Government is Corruption.

Mr Trump was very clear during the 2024 Campaigns on what he wanted to do. A majority of USA voters chose him to be their President and implement such policies AFTER experiencing his first term in 2016, DESPITE his being a convicted criminal or felon or civilly liable or whatever the term. That's telling methinks.

The people will make their opinion of his stewardship clear in the 2026 Mid terms. That's not too far away, barely a year. We shall see.

Good Luck to Nigerians.

The question is, why did you not care when it wasn't Trump doing it?

Where were you when Biden was misruling? Why didn't you care about Biden's corruption and Hunter Biden's laptop?

Drag Tinubu, drag Trump only if you DID NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES TO BIDEN.

Am I the only one seeing the hypocrisy here? It took you a while to even admit Biden messed up on the border issue. That's because you saw inexcusable videos of blacks and some Democratic politicians complaining about the open border.

Your principles disappear when it is not trumped. Did you complain when Letitia James was saying that if she is elected, she is going to go after Trump? You did not

You did not complain of Biden's dealings
You did not complain about Hunter's laptop

You defended them.

Without left and right what he is doing about immigration is okay.

Tariff is okay. The whole world is using Trump as the Boogie man and they are not looking inward
I wasnt even on this forum to complain about Hunters laptop. I wasnt even here to complain or argue about the open borders. I was neck deep in the local political section struggling with adamant Buhari supporters.

There is one thing i strongly dont agree on with the past Biden admin and generally with the liberal way of thinking. That is the extreme push for acceptance of the LGBTQ campaign......I didnt espouse it. Why? Because of my Christian background. But that didnt mean I needed to express extreme hatred for those who are part of that group.

However, there are a lot of things wrong with the Trumps admin, that threatens the very fibre of a democratic society. Its a dangerous path that would severely impact on all Americans in the nearest future, including you and your kids.

It is what has finished nigeria as a country.. and that is the direct defiance of law and order, the co-equality of the 3 arms of government, and trampling on the fundamental rights of citizens.

Another wahala i have with Trump is his person..Trump as an individual is a grifter, a conman, an incessant liar and a very immoral person. So my dragging him starts from the very person he is and what he stands for.

See this post:
benalvino2:
Biden was accused of rape with actual evidence to back up the claim. The media says its fake swept it under the mat and refuse to talk about it. So meetoo movement is fake. Media don't care about women just that rape accusation is a political tool for them.

grin grin grin

Totally off and wrong. Americans were told the same thing in 2016, the man ruled and the country survived and went on to vote for him AGAIN after 4 years of ruinous Democrat Party government. The people of the USA are much wiser than Nigerians, compare both countries and the evidence is clear.

Nigerians voted for Buhari in 2015 and his policies were the same with Biden on many important issues including subsidies and open borders. The people know better than to re-elect Biden, the man and his VP were in the process of achieving their objective which is the same objective of many 3rd World immigrants....to destroy the USA.

Well said on everything else you posted but let me address this part.

That wasn’t even a thing and that’s what I hate about this current Republican Party. They create a narrative and push it so hard with all their might it that becomes a truth to those who aren’t paying attention. There was never an extreme push for LGBTQ people by the democrats. All they wanted was equality for everyone and that includes rainbow people. Simple and short.

There was nothing they didn’t lie about and this was one of them because they knew they could manipulate Christians onto their side. Speaking as a Christian who didn’t fall for their gimmicks. They lied about abortions after birth. How ridiculous. They lied that children were getting transgender surgery in their classrooms. Trump said this one with his own mouth. Everything they say is a lie and this whole democrats were pushing LGBTQ people seems to be one of their most successful lies.
