Yes Realme really has come to stay. I once attended the launch of Realme C50 or so at Lekki Phase 1. I remember testing the Phone there. It was so good.

However, I've been using TECNO for a while and I must say that while Realme is really coming up, TECNO has gone far ahead. They have a lot to do to catch up with TECNO. Had no idea they got the C50 though... Other series are nice too.

TECNO has been in the game for a long time and so they're the Baba currently.

I'm a die hard of TECNO and will continue to be even while I also love for other brands to keep growing too

I’m all about battery life. If a phone can’t last me the whole day, it’s not for me. That’s why I’m looking at the C71 now
Exactly a good battery capacity is a must when getting a phone

I see I'm not the only one who saw the text ing on realme
Khay2:
The smartphone market in Nigeria keeps expanding, and users now have so many options depending on budget and preference. Popular names like Samsung, Xiaomi, Tecno, and Infinix are already established, but newer players are also trying to make their mark.

One brand that has been pushing recently is realme. They’ve launched models like the Note 50, C61, C75, C75x, and most recently the C71. From what I’ve seen, they focus a lot on battery life, durability, decent performance, and fast charging in the budget–midrange segment. They’ve also started opening service centers in cities across the country, like Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt, which is good for after-sales support.

That being said, every brand seems to have its strong and weak points, some focus more on cameras, others on design, gaming, or durability.

👉 So, I’m curious:

Which phone brands have impressed you the most recently?

Has anyone here tried realme devices, and how’s the experience compared to Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, or Samsung?

What do you personally look out for first when buying a new phone?

Let’s hear your thoughts.

For me ehnn, there are a few, realme blows my mind ngl... Another one is Samsung, like they're not after the noise, they know that they're doing and stand with it and do it well!!!
I'd have also said Google pixel, but I've not really had any interactions with their phones, but their camera is madddtt. Lowkey and fire!!

The truth is, Nigerian users are getting smarter. People now compare specs, check reviews, and don’t just buy because of name anymore.

No lies, Samsung is still king for me. But I love how these new brands are forcing everyone to step up
Facts! Samsung has earned its crown, no doubt. But I respect how the newer brands like realme and Xiaomi are giving flagship-level experience at budget prices. Keeps everyone on their toes.

Tecno is leading no doubt, let’s see how fast Realme can catch up, fingers crossed
True, Tecno has really built a strong base here.
But realme’s growth pace is wild, if they keep up this consistency, they’ll surprise a lot of people soon.

Honestly, choice depends on what you value, camera, battery, or durability. But how do you even pick when midrange phones are now doing almost everything flagships do?
Right? It’s like the line between flagship and midrange is fading fast. Now it’s more about brand preference and small extras like camera tuning or charging speed.
It’s getting harder to justify spending double just for a “flagship” tag. 😅

Tecno’s been in the game for long, but realme is already catching attention with how much value they pack into their phones. Competition’s about to get interesting.😌
