Simplesoul05:
Apply through the normal way. You have all the requirements already.
I learnt there’s the express package you get within 3 to 5 days. I didn’t see that option on the DHA website.

They are trying to dupe you, please apply normally, although the time is short, but try the sticker visa and e-visa to increase your chances.

Salientsinmi:
Hi Hunee…Can you advise of the possibility of getting E-Visa within 4 days from Nigeria? Agencies are charging me 1 million and above but I feel I can apply and do it myself.
It’s a business travel for a conference. Company (with a branch in SA) is going to sponsor and I have the invitation letter from the professional body from SA. The trip is just for a week.
Sorry for late replies , guess you already got the appropriate responses.goodluck

Try VFS e-visa, it has a relatively short processing time. Not DHA

An agent charged me 1.2 for a 90 days visa, they say I can extend my stay while I'm south Africa if I intend to stay longer. Can I survive on a 5m naira budget while I hustle my way? This 5m will include the flight ticket fee and everything else.

And I'll love to connect with whoever is going to cape town for hustle from now to December

My summarized advice is please don't.
Not just because of the money (approx 55k Rands) ( getting a good, safe accomodation in CPT is expensive per month), let alone considering the ticket cost, feeding et al.
2. I strongly advise against travelling to SA to "hustle" without a valid work visa (general work visa or CSV) cos visit visas will not allow you get gainful employments. You would just expose yourself to unnecessary abuse from some xenophobes (truth is you are less likely to have these issues if your work visa is valid)
3. Extending visit visas within SA is uncertain and to be honest, it is irrelevant if you intend to use it to work cos you will be limited to competing with Zims, pakistanis and locals for spaza shops and food stores (you don't want to do that IMO cos the pay rates are terribly low and you are very much unlikely to get it anyways). A decade ago, people use it as a pathway to claim assylum but now, it's easier for camel to pass through a needle's eye than to claim assylum in SA.
Las las, you may have to do illegal stuffs to survive (drugs, scams, cult syndicates), lucky ones get arrested by police, others are unfortunately to get "offed" by offended locals or rival groups.

Note please, it's just my advice, if you choose to dash the agent 1.2m (which doesn't guarantee anything anyways), I wish you the very best Sir.

Thank you for taking your time to answer me, my hustle is internet based. I won't be looking for jobs on the streets of south Africa. But from what you have written, it seems it's unlikely for me to extend my stay within the country after the 90 days and even the 1.2 doesn't guarantee me getting the visa?
I'll love us to connect and talk more on WhatsApp or Snapchat if that's possible. Thank you

Thank you for your response. I will explore the 2 options.
However I have two concerns-:
1.If E Visa comes through before the sticker visa, how do I get my passport back?

2. The VFS platform is asking for flight ticket and hotel booking. How do I go around this when I am not even sure of Visa yet.

I would appreciate all the advice I could get.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Sojeezy247: 6:43am On Oct 13, 2025
For the sticker visa you don't need to submit your passport at VFS.

For flight ticket only a dummy ticket is needed.

Good evening everyone.

I just received a message from VFS that my visa application (study) is ready for collection. I applied on the 27th March. I am a bit worried by the swiftness of the entire process compared to the delay which most people have experienced.

Is this normal please??
Please kindly intimate me with the documents you submitted for study visa application and possibly the application process.
Thank you

Can I easily extend my stay in south Africa if I went on a 90 days e visa or a sticker visa?

Not sure of e visa but sticker visa requires you to apply for extension at the VFS with more than 60days left on your current visa.

Hi everyone.

Please I am in need of info on how to go about traveling to South Africa. I will give a brief summary of my current status to aid in replies.

I am a 35ur old male, non practicing pharmacist with 6m in hand who is torn in between moving to Kenya or South Africa.

My questions are:

1. If you were in my shoes, what country will you rather start a new life I.e family wise.

2. What visa types are currently open to Nigerians and what are the costs and duration of stay?

3. If there are professional visa avenues, what stability is guaranteed for people in my field.

4. What are the choice safe and comfortable locations in south Africa for newbie Nigerians.

5. What is the current average rental coast for a 1bdrm apartment from minimum to maximum.

6. I have heard about dummy ticketing in the thread. How can I go about getting that?

7. How long does it usually take to get an evisa and a sticker visa and what's the duration of stay?

8. Is it possible for a Nigerian to get residency in SA. If yes, what are the possible routes to that?

I apologize for the lengthy questions and I will appreciate your contributions.
