And they are as they've won the under 20s. Just as SA are on to something.
doubt it. SA's u17 are going to the world cup without adequate preparation because apparently SAFA does not have money for the youth team.

I did not make reference to Ghana and I do not see the correlation to my post. The Tammy Abraham example you cited only reinforces my stance.

We have a solid unit and should focus on hitherto uninvited players without divided loyalties like Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Anthony Dennis etc

I doubt Caney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, Noni Madueke etc will turn down Super Eagles invitation now because we are almost at the World Cup.

After the world cup, we can invite these dual national players to take part in the AFCON qualifiers and ascertain their commitment. Trust me, many of them no go show up.
the ghana example is meant to highlight how its a common african phenomenon for foreign born players to attempt to gatecrash world cup teams when the teams secure qualification.

I like the part of na so so foreign born we dey chase: a case of laxity and ineptitude on the part of the Coaches and NFF and that is not to say that some foreign born are not excellent nor is it to say that some commit after lack of European option but the craze for foreign born is worrisome.
Easy way out of spending money on football. The know Foreign borns no dey poor. So they wont bother about match allowances. They can afford to owe but when the team wins, even Governor and his entourage go travel do solidarity.. Mediocrity at the highest level.

God is not mocked, what you sow you reap!

I will never be in support of dual nationality players crashing the party only when its convenient for them to do so. It's opportunistic, parasitic and could spoil team chemistry and cause disunity in the squad.

I recall this same dude was asked about playing for Nigeria 2 years ago, and he said, (I paraphrase) "at the moment I'm focused on playing for England but lets see what the future holds which is a subtle way to turn us down.

The guy no even better pass Iwobi for AM. Iwobi is a better orchestrator and passer. The issue with Iwobi is wrong deployment, midfield partnerships and formation by our National team coaches which negatively impacts on his output.

We can do without him. Between Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Wilfred Ndidi, Fisayo Dele Bashiru, Chrisantus Uche, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Alhassan Yusuf, Anthony Dennis and even Samuel Chukwueze we have enough players to cover in midfield.

Any dual national who wants to play for Nigeria should do like Ashleigh Plumptre, Alex Iwobi, Cyriel Dessers, Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong etc and come out to declare their interest with their full chest, not use Nigeria as Plan B.

If they didn't declare interest and commitment when the work was being done, they shouldn't benefit from it by going to the world cup.

Make hin wait until after the world cup when the next AFCON qualifiers will begin, no be now.
I don't agree Iwobi is better than him in AMF and CMF position. Iwobi lacks ball control and skills to maneuver like Pedri and Caicedo.

He is a better SS. We need a ball playing CM and AMF that can control and wringle himself out of tight space and I think Chukwumeka is better at doing these.

However, you may have a point about the gate CRASHERS and opportunist but remember Victor Moses, Lookman etc once rejected us openly but see what they brought to us now.

We can't pretend we don't like better thing. We need to lure them to achieve glory for our country.

That's what successful and advanced countries are doing.

I understand he wasn't steady then and Nigeria never beckoned on him hence the need to play safe.

Nigeria must wake up

See Morocco has taken over football

Even South Africa is seriously pushing

Nigeria must get down to work enough of seating down to wait for Nigerian born players in Europe

We must scout them now

You get the point sacrificing excellence for connections on the altar of nepotism and tribalism. I wouldn't really say tribalism cos if the best are from a particular region, let them represent the nation.
Kindly point who got in the team by nepotism and tribalism

And Morocco!!!! My Maroc Boys with their Ultra Defensive pattern have conquered the U20 world of football.

Morocco 2-0 Argentina. FT

Only a few Moroccan talents like Maama, Gessime Yassine, Baouf, Zabiri Yasir, Byar, Essadak and their 1st Choice GK stand out for me but they are a die hard disciplined unit.

Congrats to Africa's 2nd U20 WC Winners. Ghana wont have that flex alone anymore. Lol

Forgiveness pls stop the deceit. Carney Chukwuemeka is not available to us. So just stop. Are u afraid to call Akinsanmiro so you wont be seen as Tribalistic by others? Or u dey fear Chriskels? grin grin
Call Akinsanmiro in your discussions pls and stop yapping about lads that u know have their hearts with England.

All I see here is you making a chess move. Lol.

Akinsanmiro >>> Carney plss. Focus on those actually available to us and dont have their hearts elsewhere.

Sorry, to me Nigeria greatest male footballer is by far Okocha and not Kanu. All over the world, ex footballers recognises Okocha while some current footballers also recognises him as their football mentor. Even recently, I think Zico picked him as Africa greatest ever.
I remember when they were both active, there were always anxiety whenever Okocha wasn't playing either for club or for country but there was never a time Kanu was the go to man both for country and all the club's he ever played for.
Kanu is the greatest Nigerian player

Chrisooblog, just know that as from today, ur own heaven na View Once. 😂

But seriously, Adingra did make mess of Aina but I understand Aina struggled as he carried a knock in that final. He battled through with a hamstring knock.

Quoting Iwobi and Bassey:

“For those that don’t know, Ola played with a grade 2C hamstring injury. I don’t know how he did it, but he was still one of the best players in the tournament. So many people sacrificed a lot for that AFCON, and he led by example,” Iwobi said.

“Even with that injury, he gave everything for the country. That’s why AFCON meant so much. You’re not just playing for a club, you’re carrying 240 million people on your shoulders,” he (Bassey) said.

Now this same Adingra is in or out of the sunderland team in the EPL. Last game this weekend, he was benched for 90mins so he is bot exactly on fire at the moment but still a bonafide wing option for them.

Now, CIV do have a solid side overall. They are also reigning African Champs but I agree when it is said that their attack is not that great. CIV does not have a strong 9 currently.
They boast fine wingers especially Amad of Man Utd and this Yann Diomande lad of RB Leipzig who featured at the 2022 U17 Wafu B for CIV.
But their true strength lies at the back. Although not lot of firepower teams were in their WCQs group but u have to give them some credit going the whole campaign without conceeding in 10 WCQs games.

A different story in theit AfconQ group though. Zambia beat them despite the presence of Evan Guessand of Villa and Adingra of sunderland in attack and topped the group even. Sierra Leone also beat CIV.
Now with a decent CIV side, New Zealand without Chris Wood beat them.

CIV is not convincing offensively but their midfield is full of steel and brawn and their backline get men wey mount. Lol

You are not wrong. Their foreign born player recruitment drive is insane. For instance, MVP of the U20 WC was born in France.

But aside this, they back their recruitment drive with access to world class training models and facilities they built overtime and engage the lads in friendlies to blood the foreign borns in quickly. Simple. Nothing more than this for my Maroc Boys.

We will be here in 5 yrs and 10yrs and we would see how that stance ages. I see those comments and I laugh. SA talents that cant thrive in the best leagues have leapfrogged a county constantly exporting talents to the Euro leagues including some of the best leagues in the world, season after season, year after year? These are parts of the reasons SA would remain inferior to Nigeria in football despite their strong PSL league.

Is it not in this same continent we saw Egypt use their strong league organization and more to rule Africa at the Afcon for 3 straight editions between 2006-2010? Did heaven fall? Did they qualify for the WC? SA's last WC was in 2010. The one they hosted. They missed 2014, 2018 and 2022. They only managed to return for the 2026 edition because Naija didnt wake up sooner and SA played 7 of their WCQs games in SA.

I laugh really.

My probable line up against Gabon if the players are invited

Gk Maduka Okoye
Df Benjamin Fredrick
Df William Troost Ekong
Df Calvin Bassey
Df Zaidu Sanusi
Mf Fred Onyeka or Raphael Onyedika
Mf Chidera Ejuke
Mf Fisayo D.Bashiru
Fw Samuel Chukwueze
Fw Victor Osimhen
Fw Jerome Akor Adams

I believe Gabon can be beaten with this or 75% of this as starting lineup by 3 or 4 goals margin.

Reaping where they didn't sow yet you ended up contradicting yourself with the bolded?

Getting talents from their offshore banks and nurturing the players through their age grade system is the total opposite of reaping where one didn't sow.

Your country waits until the other countries build the players completely, then pounce like criminals.

corruption is the reason why we’ve not taken this path, there are plenty players with Nigerian ancestry scattered across Europe and we couldn’t take even 1 to the last U-20 Afcon but we instead went with Akinyele,Bamaiyi and other carpenters. We know for example an Arsenal/Chelsea academy player will likely not pay money to be a part of the squad
