IbeOkehie:The Africans went to Europe to advertise their product, and built big ships to export said product, and interbred them on site to increase that product to work the land they the Africans owned for profit Africans reaped the most of? Seriously, I don't really know how to respond to you, especially when I follow the money gained from slavery, which in your version of history, would have flowed to Africa. |

RodgersAkpafu:If its strictly by population US will not have 10 times of UK GDP while being just 5 times in population India has always been heavily populated yet we can see the steady progression in the last 40yrs from not featuring in top 10 to now top 5, while the paper tigers of Europe continue to fall behind while the UK, France have fallen out of top 5 Its so bad that Europe depends on the US for its security

IbeOkehie:Too much wrong with your thoughts. Also just a lack of knowledge of history. But lets just take Haiti as an example. Do you know the kind of economic sabotage Haiti has been subjected to? -------------------------- The debt imposed on Haiti by France, often referred to as the "Independence Debt" or "ransom," is a pivotal and highly criticized chapter in Haiti's history. Here is a summary of the key historical points: Haitian Independence (1804): Following a successful, 13-year revolution by enslaved people—the only successful slave revolt in history that led to the formation of a state—Haiti declared its independence from France. The Indemnity Demand (1825): For over two decades, Haiti was internationally isolated and faced the constant threat of a French invasion to re-establish slavery. In 1825, twenty-one years after independence, King Charles X of France sent a fleet of warships to Haiti and demanded an indemnity in exchange for official French diplomatic recognition. The Amount and Purpose: The demand was for 150 million francs (an immense sum, about ten times Haiti's annual revenue at the time, and far exceeding the French King's own estimated losses). The payment was ostensibly to compensate former French slaveholders for the loss of their "property" (their land and the enslaved people). Coercion and Consequence: Haiti's President, Jean-Pierre Boyer, signed the agreement under the duress of the French naval fleet, fearing military conflict and seeking an end to international isolation. This also came with a demand for a 50% discount on duties for French imports. The Debt Trap: To make the first payment, Haiti was immediately forced to take out a massive loan from French banks, creating a "double debt." Restructuring and Final Payment: In 1838, France agreed to reduce the remaining debt to 60 million francs. However, the costs, including interest and later loans, continued to cripple the young nation. Haiti's government spent the next century prioritizing debt repayment over essential services like education and health. Haiti finally paid off all the associated debt and interest in 1947. This debt is widely viewed by historians and activists as a primary cause of Haiti's historical poverty and underdevelopment, essentially forcing the world's first free black republic to pay its former colonizer for its own freedom. In 2003, then-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide demanded France repay the modern equivalent of the indemnity, estimated at over $21 billion, a demand that was met with strong international opposition and preceded his ouster in 2004. -------------------- *Culled Now, the Haitian Debt issue is just one thing. One issue out of a gazillion issues. If you educate yourself better on these things you would not simply spring to the laziest possible conclusions such as white skin good, black skin bad. The historical issues are far far deeper than that and deserve far more serious thought. As an aside, let me just throw a pre-emptive strike at what I know you will say anyway. Namely: No one is saying here that Africans do not have serious developmental issues arising from our own fault. Like every other people, we do. |

DeepSight:Population is a MAJOR driver of GDP Dont forget GDP is aggregation of economic activity Hence more people = more economic activity = more GDP Why Japan is sliding down is because they are losing people = less economic activity = less GDP Mass migration of Indians out of India send billions and billions back home Those back home then engage in economic activity hence increase in GDP (this a major transmission of economic growth in India, even though there are others such as outsourcing) |

RodgersAkpafu:Its like someone who looks at the score board to analyze a game See where India was 40yrs ago and where UK was 40yrs ago Now see where India is today and where UK is today That will show you the trajectory and how the EU paper tigers are falling behind, The only thing going for UK is Big brother US commitment to carrying UK on its back Take away US its like any other 2nd world economy just with electricity and snow. That is why Starmer and the Royal family go to kiss Trumps feet regularly |

RodgersAkpafu:The "Visioneer", architect, engineer, technicians, labourers. The Pentagon (the us military hq), which amongst the listed above, would take the biggest credit for the building. Note: I would never be found among those people who try to downplay the role of labourers. Simple question, just answer!!!! Any day 75% of those "whites" decide that they want an ethnic pure country, they will have it. |
