When you are on the road, be fully aware.
Some peeps(pedestrians) do take the road as fun sometimes.

Sometimes these sort of accidents are due to reckless drivers driving against traffic, a person who is not careful may just look only in the direction where traffic is supposed to be coming from without realizing that one mad driver is driving against traffic

The busy areas of the Lag-Ibadan Express way really need viable and accessible pedestrian bridge. It is baffling that that massive road is without these basic infrastructure.

You are 100% correct. That road needs pedestrian bridges. It's an expressway with drivers on speed.

Those lagos highways are very dangerous the first time I visited lagos i was really very scared to cross it because of the high speed of vehicles whose drivers seems to be on drugs.

A Director in the Lagos State Civil service is crossing an interstate highway at a point that does not have pedestrian crossing and you blame other parties but her? Should she be on foot crossing that highway?

And in your mind you think you made sense. You think life is a coincidence? Someone on the verge of retirement just killed Ike that and you think it's nothing. The reckless driver was only a pawn in the whole thing.

One-way drivers are a suspect too in this situation.
You dat is looking at the usual right direction, another car is coming from the opposite direction to knock you down!

I usually look both ways while crossing.

They're many pedestrian bridges along that road, but they're just too far from each other.
And it's bcus they're many residents bus stops along that road. If they're to build bridges in all the bus stops, then your guess is good as mine cus that can't be possible

Defensive whatever goes both ways. There's Defensive crossing. Or better still. Safe Crossing. Defensive means you take full responsibility for your safety. You don't assume that a driver or other road user will act in your safety. Crossing a road with speed limit of 100km/h is just asking for trouble.

The church that went to site it's location on the side of a highway nko? That road in Nigerian mapping is A1. The first interstate highway. Everyone living on the side of that highway knew the highway was there before they started any human settlement activity there

My sincere condolences to the bereaved family.

Residents of Mowe and Ibafo should make use of the pedestrian bridge. I have seen people crossing the highway when they are very close to the pedestrian bridge.
