basilico:This is wrong. They had backdoor access to the Iranian servers. If they had indicted him, then it would have leaked that they accessed Iranian servers where classified information was found due to their hack of Bolton's emails. |

the anti nazi people, with one-sided rage, did not see this one. Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine, had a skull-and-crossbones tattoo on his chest that resembles the Totenkopf—a symbol used by Nazi SS units responsible for concentration camp operations, as noted by the Anti-Defamation League. He got the tattoo in 2007 while drunk on leave in Croatia as a Marine, claiming he was unaware of its Nazi associations until opposition research surfaced during his 2025 campaign. Platner, a 41-year-old oyster farmer and veteran, addressed it on the Pod Save America podcast, stating, "I am not a secret Nazi," and noting it passed U.S. military tattoo checks without issue. |

Ghostagain:All these na superficial appreciation of the subject. Insight requires a closer look beyond popular mass delusions. There's mass shootings every other day in Chicago, twice on Sundays. We know why these are overlooked by the main stream media. But why are MASS SHOOTINGS important? Why does a PARTICULAR TYPE OF KILLING have to be the focus instead of KILLING in general? Black American males like me are 6% of the population and commit over 40% of the murders in this country. That's the bottom line. I've delved into many facets of race or sexism issues. Most people just have conventional opinions informed by biased media. Remember, the gender pay gap is a real thing. The way businesses discriminate against women in pay is patently criminal. Add to that, there was no fuel subsidy in Nigeria. Fuel subsidy didn't exist until President Tinubu abolished it in May 2023. And Black Africans didn't make much of any money from the Slave Trade. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

IbeOkehie:I am, sorry all of this is a non starter. Perhaps a proper approach to this discussion is nuanced and complex for y/ou? In the mater of so called IQ tests, or even academic results in particular, it has not even occurred to you for one second that there is a socio-economic and sometimes cultural component at play which is extremely critical. To simplify this: a child brought up in a stable and well to do home, well fed, well catered for and with access to a full compliment of educational materials and advanced equipment (such as computers) is certainly most likely to perform better than a child from a poverty stricken home uncertain of his next meal and with zero educational materials. This alone is sufficient to show the socio-economic component which you have not even averted your mind to, not to speak of the cultural components (e.g: a child from a background which emphasizes discipline, study and competitiveness is more likely to excel at academics than a child from a more laissez-faire background). And yet these two factors I have pointed out (socio-economic and cultural) have nothing to do with actual raw intelligence. This one little thing I have just pointed out is one of the reasons I say I seriously doubt that yo/u can handle this discussion because if you could, you would at once recognize that the statistics that are put up for performance in both IQ tests and academics do not take cognizance of many factors which when played out on a large demographic level with different social realities of the different races are bound to lead to different outcomes. As to point number three, did you really fail to understand that one society can be more productive than another for any number of reasons? Do you deny that something as simple as fertile land can deliver such? Do you deny that weather alone can decide that? Do you deny that flora and fauna alone can decide that? None of these can be denied so it makes absolutely no sense to insist that it is always true that the most intelligent societies are always the most prosperous. It is simply not true. Very often in history the most brutal societies have been the most prosperous by dint of sheer force. PS: And no, you cannot arbitrarily decide that "productivity is the final arbiter" - Throughout history, necessity has been the mother of invention. Many societies were not productive per se because they simply had no need to be, others were forced by circumstance to be, etc. This again does not speak to which people are more intelligent. Its as simple as saying that a man who lives in a desert will have to learn some sort of irrigation while a man who lives in an oasis will have no such need and not do it. Necessity is at play here - not necessarily intelligence. And this is just one example. Many other factors abound. At all events, if I am going to attempt to change your views, we must start this discussion properly. From the historical perspective and by assessing the key factors which lead to civilization. For that, I will import posts I made in another thread some years ago. cc: tctrills |

@IbeOkehie - I said in my last post that I will import some old posts which you have to review and understand if we are to have any discussion on this matter. I import from this thread - (On Racial Superiority and Inferiority) - https://www.nairaland.com/7887428/racial-superiority-inferiority ---------------------- If you look deep into history you will find that empires have risen and empires have fallen. Once upon a time the greatest power in the world was Egypt, once upon a time it was Persia, once upon another time it was Greece, another time, Rome, another time, the Mongols, another time the Ottomans, another time the Germans, another time the British, now the Americans, and its looking like the near future is Chinese. And yet in this same world there was a time, when Egypt and Rome were at the height of civilization and technology, places like the Germany and Britain of today were populated by bushmen and rural villagers who were very very backward - quite as backward as any African tribe was at another time. The Romans who conquered Britannia met there a very rustic backward people who had no cities and dwelt in gatherings of huts. A person who doesn't think deeply would simply say, oh the Romans were superior people, but were they really or the tide of history, environment, location, trade and other factors had simply swept them to were they were? If you reflect, you will find a certain trend among the most developed countries of the world - they all uniformly fall within the temperate zones of the world along certain latitudes. This tells you that climate and environment have a huge role to play in civilization. There is an old thread were this was discussed at length and I will try to dig it up and leave the link here. There are many advanced studies that have proven conclusively the relationship between climate and civilization. If the set of people who migrated to Europe remained in Africa, their descendants would suffer exactly what we are suffering - and its attendant effects on civilization. There is a science to this. --------------------- See next post. cc: tctrills |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by DeepSight(m): 11:31pm On Oct 22, 2025 |
DeepSight:----------------- But going even further, it is important to understand that civilization is a pyramid, and one generation builds on the work of preceding generations. So it is extremely misguided to credit the white man alone for technology and civilization, one thing has built upon another for generations and from all corners of the Earth to arrive at a peak, and events coalesce through wars, through trade, and through natural disasters and climate to bring development to a head. The small example I gave about gun powder was intended to show that white men didn't just miraculously develop the technology for firepower by themselves, They built on knowledge from elsewhere. For example much of the most advanced science and technology especially mathematics which so much depends upon was developed in the Middle East by Arabic scholars. Anyone who doesn't know that things like geometry and calculus developed there is simply ignorant. With trade and movement (and mind you, some places are more amenable to trade and movement by reason of a body of water such as the Mediterranean for example) these things spread and develop easily. It is not by accident that three of the greatest civilizations ever rest on the Mediterranean - Egypt, Greece and Rome! I can go one and on, and there is so much more to say, that's why I said I dont have the energy for this tonight. Another small example is that the flora and fauna of a place is also critical. Many here don't understand the huge advantage given by the presence of one single animal - the horse, for example. But I see a lot of sad ignorance here and a huge load of inferiority complexes. The matter is not as simple as saying that the white man is superior and he has invented this and that. There are layers and reasons to this phenomenon and it rests in a study of history and the environment. It is lazy to just bow down and say, oh, the European must be God! By the way this has nothing to do with not giving credit where it is due - all credit is given - but one has to understand what one is talking about. The same people some of you are praising were busy burning hundreds of thousands of their women alive on allegations of witchcraft barely three centuries ago - and three centuries is nothing in historical terms. It's virtually like yesterday. So the story of mankind is manifold. --------------------- See next post cc: tctrills |

DeepSight:I will now add the links on the co-relation between Climate and Civilization. 1. Harsh climate change was the primary driver in the development of civilization, according to new research by the University of East Anglia. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Severing-Climate-and-Civilization-35804.shtml 2. "The archaeologial and paleoenvironmental evidence is consistent with the notion that the development of complex societies in the Middle Holocene was largely the consequence of the responses of the precursor societies to deteriorating environmental conditions associated principally with the orbitally-driven weakening and southward retreat of the northern hempisphere monsoon belt." http://www.salon.com/technology/how_the_world_works/2006/11/17/accidental_civilization 3. Climate change helped the Incas build civilisation Their warfare, building and agricultural skills may have been impressive but, according to scientists in Peru, the Incas would have been nothing without good weather induced by climate change. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/5916353/Climate-change-helped-the-Incas-build-civilisation.html 4. Climate Changes Affect Ancient Civilizations: The role of climate in the development trajectory of the Near East, Greece, and Rome is discussed here - http://www.suite101.com/content/climate-changes-affect-ancient-civilizations-a107526 5. Climate's Role in Ancient Chinese Civilization A suddenly cold climate about 5,500 years ago coincided with the advent of ancient Chinese civilization, implying some relationship between the two events, Chinese scientists said Monday. http://www.china.org.cn/english/2003/Feb/55500.htm Finally - To prove the point, this map shows the Temperate Zones of the world in yellow. It is no coincidence that those zones are where the most developed countries are situated. cc: tctrills

DeepSight:Yes, I've read some tomes about how climate affects outcomes. I particularly remember Guns, Germs & Steel by (Jared Diamond?) There's something to it. The Zulu, Xhosa and other tribes would have produced something better than the South Africa of today, without European settlers. For sure. All races have equal intelligence and potential, the visible differences in their living conditions result from factors external to their intrinsic being. Thanks for the insight into this new vista of knowledge. I won't lick Asian arse anymore. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

IbeOkehie:The lawyer you are talking about didn't start the Steele dossier Suissman went to FBI with fake data about Trump servers pinging some Russia based server. The FBI knew it was fake, but they accepted it and pretended to investigate it. The supposed ping was leaked to mecis which gleefully published " oh Trump has links to Russia ". In a trial no way they could find him guilty without FBI being exposed as being part of the scheme. The judge made sure the details of the case wete not fully addressed to the jury. Rulings on Evidence: Judge Cooper made significant rulings regarding what evidence could be admitted during the trial, including considerations of privilege claims and the admissibility of certain conspiracy theories presented by the prosecution. Jury Instructions: He provided instructions to the jury, which guided them on how to interpret the law and the evidence presented during the trial. Verdict: Ultimately, the jury acquitted Sussmann on the charge of lying to the FBI, which was a major outcome of the trial. |

budaatum:It seems like you would like to see the ceasefire collapse from this statement. Any deal will collapse if one party breaks the deal. In this case, two IDF soldiers were killed. Instead of you being worried about the number of civilians that may be killed, your focus is on attacking Trump. Because it's a ceasefire from "Dump", you want to see it fail even if it means many people will die? Are you not as careless as Hamas? |

DeepSight:Extremely poor people with less education and exposure don't have resources for recreation, tend to have more children. The cycle continues generation after generation. They end up lagging behind in Human development. The white man was more motivated to invent electricity than the African because he needed to heat up in the winter and cool off during the summer. Add to food preservation methods. His inventions were necessary to ensure his survival. |

He's the one who gave the FBI the Steele Dossier...he was charged to court and found NOT GUILTY by a jury of his peers. His crimes were VERY CLEAR.
