The NPF has never evolved beyond a colonial tool of oppression despite independence (that was the reason for formation pre-independence-to suppress dissent) That is why a number of infractions plague their operations. The internal insecurity problems should have been the focus of the NPF but extortion, blatant disregard for human rights and the rule of law is their highest competence.
