PPR ALERT!!! Typing this with tears of joy and a heart full of gratitude! This journey has truly tested my patience and faith, but I’m here today to say “GOD DID”! Here’s my full timeline 1st Application Submitted: June 3, 2024 Refused: September 9, 2024 Reason: Insufficient funds (I had already paid my first semester tuition and had over ₦50 million as POF, but the VO still wasn’t convinced) 2nd Application Submitted: October 18, 2024 Refused: December 2, 2024 Reason: Same as the first….funds again! 3rd Application This time, I went all in and paid my complete tuition. Submitted: February 20, 2025 Refused: March 11, 2025 Reason: You guessed it… Insufficient funds again! 🥲 At this point I was honestly tired, but I refused to give up. 4th Application I decided to try something different, I did GIC for living expenses after paying full tuition. Submitted: May 10, 2025 Refused: June 20, 2025 Reason: Inconsistent purpose (Apparently, they felt my salary was too small and I might not return to Nigeria) 5th Application (The Breakthrough) This time, I added land documents to prove my home ties. I didn’t overthink anything, I just submitted and left everything in God’s hands. Submitted: July 26, 2025 Medical Request: October 14, 2025 PPR: October 22, 2025 Documents Submitted: - Admission Letter - Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) - Letter of Explanation - Tuition receipts - 6 month personal/salary account - Piggyvest statement of account and Reference Letter - GIC Letter of 20,700 CAD (I submitted my application before they increased POF) - USD Domiciliary bank statement to show when and how the GIC was paid - Funds transfer Receipt from the land sale (the money was sent directly to my account) - Deed of Assignment for land ownership - Affidavit of Sponsorship - 6 month payslips - Appointment Letter - Study Leave Approval - Work ID - Birth Certificate - Marriage Certificate - NYSC Letter - CV - Degree certificate and transcript - Pictures of my family - Wedding pictures My Sponsor’s (Father) Documents - Appointment Letter - Letter of promotion to show career progression - Tax Clearance Certificate - CAC for his business - Storage and Sales License (For his filling station) - Deed of assignment confirming previous ownership before land sale - Deed of transfer confirming land sale This journey taught me patience, perseverance, and the power of faith. Delay is not denial. Each refusal was God redirecting me to do better and to trust Him more. To everyone still waiting, please don’t give up. Fix what you can, pray, and keep believing. When your time comes, even ten refusals can’t stop your approval. And finally, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone on this forum, your posts, advice, timelines, and encouragement helped me more than words can say. This platform has been such a blessing, I truly appreciate every single one of you and I wish you all the best! |

Thank you all. Please is MBS compulsory? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 3:31pm On Oct 22, 2025 |
They might make it compulsory soon. If your bank can do MBS, do it. Ensure there is no lien on any fund. Meerahkul: |

Hello house, please I need your help. I don’t want to use an agent. I’d prefer to go through this platform by following your guidelines. My wife already has her passport and will be resuming her studies in January. We used an agent for her process, but now I’d like to apply for a SOWP for myself, along with applications for our two children (ages 5 and 3). Please, could you guys advise me on: The best time for me to submit my application; The documents required for the SOWP and the children’s applications; and The steps to apply and complete the application process. Though I operate a business and maintain both a business and a savings account. I run a piggery business. I would really appreciate it if you guys could guide me through the process. Thank you. |

I will answer the first question: The best time to apply is after your wife has resume her studies in Canada, because you will need the following documents from her to enable you to submit your application and that of the kids; 1. Copy of her study permit -which will be issued to her at the Port of entry 2. Rent/Tenancy agreement- to show that she has secured an accommodation in Canada and you guys are not going to sleep in the snow 😴 🙄 😒 3. Invitation Letter- with her house address and phone number in Canada. All the best. mcsugk: |

ATTAHDYE:Thanks you very much.. But please who is writing the invitation letter or is the letter coming from my wife and be address to who? |

I promised to only answer the first part. mcsugk: |

It is not compulsory but I highly recommend it It is a secure for of bank statement that gives the visa officer confidence about the authenticity of the bank statement. The first page of the MBS has a month by month summary of you accountant turnover such that the VO can easily understand. Finally, it comes as 1-page (insteadof 300 pages of regularbank statements), so you don't have to worry about sending bulky documents. Meerahkul: |

mcsugk:Does your program qualify for PGWP? If no, please change program (course) but remain in the school. It is better to qualify for PGWP and not need it later than to need it and not qualify for it. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Osemigho: 11:35am On Oct 24, 2025 |
Bobbiet:Yes. If you want PGWP, go and search qualifying program from cic webpage and then look for schools that offer those program. |

Meerahkul:Others already provided answer. To add to it, uncle and aunt sponsorship often don't fly if they don't make significant contribution (e.g pay full tuition with history of previous support like past tranfer of support money to your account). |

I was previously denied a family visiting visa last year, even though my wife has since obtained her study visa. I'm now applying for a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP). Could you please advise me on the necessary steps? Specifically, do I need to mention the previous visitor visa denial in my letter of explanation? Should I tick the relevant box, fill and signed Schedule 1 form (Application for Temporary Resident Visa - IMM 5257B) Please help a brother the guru’s in the house

I recently came across some of the Netflix graphics created by Dinnick & Howells, and they’re absolutely stunning. The detail and creativity in their work really stand out. It’s clear they have a strong understanding of visual storytelling. Definitely one of the top studios producing high-quality design work right now. |

It is very important that you answer all the questions truthfully. You most declear that you have been denied a visa application to Canada and anyother country before! Hiding this information is a one-way ticket to visa denial. mcsugk: |

Good morning House, I'm hoping to get your input on a critical decision regarding my immigration journey. I recently got my Canadian Student Visa approved for a 1-year (12-month) course-based MSc program, starting this January. I plan to marry my girlfriend, who is currently 26 and in her 200-level at NOUN. I am 28 and declared "single" on my visa application. Here are my main worries/questions: Marriage Timing: Will getting married between now and December help my/our journey to Permanent Residence (PR), or should I wait until I finish school and get my 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) then I come back to marry her. She should be rounding up her BSc by then. Spousal Work Permit (SOWP): My program is a 12-month course-based MSc, which I understand makes her ineligible for an SOWP while I am a student, but I am eligible for a 3-year PGWP. Is there any other route to get her to Canada sooner? IRCC Update: If I choose to get married now, how do I properly update IRCC about my change in marital status since I declared single on my application? Is it something I have to do before leaving Nigeria or at what point do I need to update my profile if going for marriage between now and December. I have only a few weeks to finalize plans. Your advice on the best strategy would be greatly appreciated. |

Soltech1000:Unpopular Opinion: Don’t get married yet! Girls dey Canada — taste and see 😅 African, Caribbean, White, Biracial, you name it. Don’t let your current girlfriend stop you from finding your wife in Canada. And please, don’t bring any girlfriend from Nigeria abroad — let her come on her own if she really wants to meet you. One thing about living abroad: it will expose the cracks in your relationship. You’ll start to see things differently. You need to understand hypergamy — women look for the best option, and as a man, you should too. In my opinion, don’t rush into marriage. Love can blind you from seeing the bigger picture in time. Love, yes. Compatibility, yes. Beauty, yes. (1) But ask yourself — what does your girlfriend actually do that will help you when she comes to Canada? Canada is not easy o. You will struggle — and if your woman doesn’t have something solid going for her, you’ll suffer even more. She needs a skill, a purpose, something meaningful. If you marry her, does it increase your chances of getting PR? No, it doesn’t she will reduce your point because she does not have a Higher degree than you (2) Does she have an in-demand skill? are you going to pay for her school to get an in-demand skill? (3) Can she get an above-average job within 6 months of coming to Canada? (4) And be honest — if she were the one coming to Canada, would she bring you along? (5) what has she done for you to try to bring her to canada. Ask yourself the hard questions. That’s all I wanted to say. 💯 |
