GMBOFASIA:That was good performance by Osimhen but definitely not single handedly. |

TheGoodJoe:Onazi? Apart from AFCON 2013 and the World Cup 2014 run, Onazi was not a mainstay in our team. But I admit he was phenomenal in those competitions. Arguably our most important midfielder in those competitions, and our midfield crumbled when he was substituted against France in the second round. I know I picked Celestine Babayaro as my Left back but upon reflection I'll go with Taiye Taiwo instead. TT had more caps and tournament appearances than CB, and was more impactful. CB didn't play many matches for the Super Eagles, and his best performance for Nigeria was at Atlanta 96, and that's technically not the Super Eagles. So I'll replace Celestine Babayaro with Taiye Taiwo in Left back. |

BREAKING 🚨 IFAB will reconsider Arsene Wenger’s proposal to amend the offside rule. Under Wenger’s proposal, a player would only be deemed to be offside if their ENTIRE body (the parts that can legally be used to score a goal) is ahead of the 2nd to last player of the opposing team… The potential amendment to the rule could drastically reduce debates surrounding the use of VAR on offsides.. |

semid4lyfe:I just love all these conversations, and it has shown a trend and one thing: every generation of the Eagles was superbly talented, and no generation has any monopoly on talent and depth. Period |

PDPGuy:The only body part that cannot be legally used to score a goal are the arms and hands. If adopted, it'd lead to less offside calls, and more goals so I guess it'd be good for football. |

Mujtahida:. I think keshi though officially blazed the trail for Nigerian players in European club. The late Samuel Okwaraji was a pro before he died on d field in 1989. Basically in my humble opinion d '94 set is similar to d 2013 set because d team did exactly dsame thing. The only thing d 94 set can claim over any other generation is FIFA ranking of Nigeria being no 5 but dat doesn't take their heroic exploit away because dey are d first set to qualified Nigeria for WC. I think they were lucky. Why? Odegbami's set would have done it back in 1977 for d 1978 WC, after playing a goaless with either Algeria or Tunisia (have forgotten the country between d two), they needed to just beat the north African team by one zero, unfortunately they ended up conceding an owngoal and they unluckily botched the WCQ |

TheSuperNerd:I think this comes down to personal preference if you want a wing forward who can give you goals, Big Segz but if you want a pure winger who can deliver accurate and wicked crosses then Finidi is your man |

Okocha not good enough for Super eagles all time 11 but Onazi is good enough to be there, abeg I no wan vex. Funny thing is I don’t even rate Okocha’s entire career like that but for the super eagles? Please let’s be truthful unless you never really watched him ball for us |

Naija🇳🇬 in the Uefa Europa Conference League Christantus Uche again on the bench for Palace vs AEK Larnaca. Emmanuel Uchenna and Sparta Prague saw their game away at HNK Rijeka suspended due to adverse conditions. When I tuned in myself, I saw a huge mist covering the pitch. Cant play a game in such conditions. Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, the Anglo Nigerian, starts for Lausanne away at Hamrun Spartans. Swiss Nigerian, Bryan Okoh, CB also start for Lausanne. Beyond Limits Grad, Shola Ogundana, LW, formerly of Flamengo, starts for Dynamo Kyiv away at Samsunspor. US Nigerian, Monday Etim starts in attack for Universitatea Craiova, Romania vs FC Noah, Armenia. |

A Nigerian All time XI without Jay Jay Okocha is incomplete. Absolutely incomplete. I rewatched a game on Youtube via my TV in my spare time few weeks back. Nigeria vs Senegal Afcon 2000. Pls, Okocha still showed up in that game despite the red card and was missed vs SA. You know SA would have been roasted beyond 2 goals if Okocha had played. TheGoodJoe: |

Exactly. It is the tactical needs of the RW for each coach that matters. Both have equal shouts for that role but Finidi is my take coz I need one who will supply the 9 constantly, while taking the occasional strike at goal (1995 UCL Semis vs Bayern) and not one who go dey drag top scorer with am. villagereporter:Yes Keshi was one of the first, Okwaraji too and Etim Essien, Rufai, Agbonivbare. But please read me carefully: 94 set went abroad in numbers. That's the distinction. I disagree that 2013 and 94 are the same. Different in many ways. Odegbami would have but didn't. And I can apply that to the 94 set who would have defeated Italy and gone beyond 2nd round and possibly further |
