oga will you shit up!

You guys will always dig up rubbish to support your clueless master

Not paying dividend and it did not fold then?

Only to fold under the so called Lagos builder
Guy, you be kid. Part of the beginning of his failure was Government decision ( specifically, President Umaru Yaradua). Also, how did his PayTV collapse?, how did his share tank from N5 to 5kobo per share?. why was he so much reliant on Govt funding for survival?. AIT has went off air several times only to come back after settling some of his debts through Govt intervention. The sister stations in other states have been shutting down one after the other for years back. Sit down and learn. If you're not competitive and dynamic like other local TV stations who are divesting, you will crumble faster than you think. Everything is not politics, receive sense.

Dokpesi came to the screen several times to solicite for help in order to keep his business running then. Unless you are a kid during that time. Even to the least of 50naira then, that it would not be too small. One of my friends working there then said even if they go and represent the TV outside the country for sport broadcasting, they will book flight for them on paper, estimate the cost, look for sponsors and donors, but will never honour it. They would tell them to find their way to Nigeria by roads by giving them peanuts. This was during past afcons and qualifiers. It was on life support for a long time. Politicians always bail him out then, but now....... besides, apart from harsh economy policies, would you rather sit down and watch AIT to be sincere? AIT that it's volume will be increasing abnormally during broadcast and adverts?

LoL.
I hope Arise is learning a good lesson from what is happening to AIT.
If they continue to allow Rufai run wild, they will hit a suit that will send down....

I still wonder what Dopkesi did with his share of the $2B Dasuki arms deal funds.
See this tribal bigot, how many persons in AIT are like Rufia?

TV and Radio station presenters are like a football game players, people are attracted by players who are making waves in the pitch and Rufia Oseni is at his finest. He will always be sorted after as long as he continues to cause you and most of your politicians heart attacks.

Arise News will always get traffic because of his never say die spirit and that's why most of you will always discuss him.

Most companies in Lagos are running on a very thi n margin, the eateries are gradually going, the small telcos are struggling, the hospitals, hotels are groaning on high diesel costs and thin margin sales , the only industry growing is the banks and oil companies.
.......and politics! shocked

Where is the tribal bigotry.
Airheads like you were drumming support for AIT and dancing to their tune until the company landed in court....

I am sure you don't even know what happened to AIT but as usual, Obidients are forbidden to think before talking

You have just displayed ignorance. People like you are making the society decay because of gross fuuuliishnesx.

There are so many non dividends paying companies listed on the NGX and Daar communications happens to be one that have not paid for long. That does not mean they were crumbling at the time of that publication.

The NGX started enjoying heavy capital flow dye to recent reforms and you can't pay dividends when you have a ship to steady. Get lost!

The company started crumbling in 2009 under PDP regime. If you were at least a teenager at the time, you wouldn't be this ignorant.

AIT was down because of Tinubu's fumbling government useless policies not mismanagement.

If you are not shameless you will also know that a lot of companies have packed shop since this monster came on board.

Whatever affected Multichoice will likely affect some TV Channels. When subscribers don't recharge for their TV networks, It will by extension reduce other tv channels viewership and significantly affect their tv commercials

If a giant media house like AIT would go broke, then it's not just politics, it's targeted and it's a very bad omen.

Every media house has a political leaning. AIT is not different. APC is moving in a self destructive mode.
How is this any of APCs business how a private company is run?
Why has the same APC not attacked Arise news and Channels news?
Will you die if you try to find out what happened to DAAR communication before blaming the APC.
Something is wrong with the brain of an average Nigerian.
Your refusal to think will soon destroy you

AIT Shuts Down Lagos Office After Months of Operational and Rumoured Salary Challenges

The Lagos office of Africa Independent Television (AIT) has been shut down following persistent financial and operational challenges faced by its parent company, Daar Communications Plc.

Sources confirmed that the management
ordered the closure after months of struggling to sustain operations at the Lagos bureau due to high maintenance costs and dwindling revenue.

It was gathered that delayed salary payments and rising operational expenses had worsened the situation, making it difficult for the station to continue broadcasting effectively.

While AIT’s Lagos branch has been closed, sister stations RayPower FM and Faaji FM are reportedly still on air and continuing normal operations.

The development is seen as a major setback for AIT, one of Nigeria’s pioneering private television stations, which for years maintained a strong presence in Lagos as a key hub for national and international news production.

As of press time, Daar Communications Plc has not issued any official statement regarding the shutdown or future plans for the Lagos office.

Something cannot be built on nothing: it won’t stand! Raymond Dokpesi was, in his lifetime, good at everything bound to ensure his legacy does not outlive him.

My refusal to think? You blab like a baby. Because you know how to type in English does not mean you have any good thing upstairs.

When Buhari became president, the first media house hit by absolute restrictions from aso rock was AIT. Are you pretending you don't recall? That move drove so many viewers away from tuning in because it was clear they were not getting the news first hand.

The then APC led government started fighting High Chief Ramon Dokpesi of blessed memory with all kinds of money laundry lies and propaganda. It did not stop there, they moved to fighting his son.

You see people like you with short memory should cease from talking in a public forum to avoid shame.

You didn't mention that part of the $2billion dollars Raymond collected was trashed to DAAR communications, you didn't also mentioned that they had issues with Tinube because of the lion of Bourdillon documentary which resulted in the N150b naira suit against the company.
Keep dancing in your half truths and deceiving yourself.
Was AIT the only private television station?
Why were other stations not having issues?

Doing TV business in Nigeria is not cheap. It's very very expensive, and unless you are ready to keep it simple, keep it short, you will run out of business

AIT is closing down one office...remember Network Nigeria that started strong and then went belly up months later? Jobs lost.

AIT even sacked hundreds of workers in 2007/8 if I recall.
How is Channels TV succeeding? John Momoh is not known to be a partisan politician and is not linked to government.

The seed that precipitated the downfall of AIT was sowed when the media outlet allowed Ayo Fayose to used her platform to denigta GMB then. The rest is now history

Na WA oooooo

Where are the family that Dokpesi will the company to?

If you are not capable, OYO is your case

Good luck to the staffs
They were probably having issues while Dokpesi himself was alive.
He probably was using his influence and connections to be getting loans to sustain the company and his life style.
Now he is deceased, banks and probably friends that were lending him are either not doing so again or less inclined without substantial collateral.
I bet you that once it's confirmed liquidated, that office would be taken over by the banks because of the amount of debts AIT has accumulated

Point.
How many people now watch Seun Akinboye of politics today or the morning show on Channels now compared to before?
Nobody wants to sit down to watch goverment propaganda, especially on a private TV station. If they wanted to they have NTA to serve it to them.
You wake up in morning before going to work or after returning and want to sit down and watch one minister or appointee spill out policy achievements without the presenter querying him or her or disputing it,no Sir!
When Channels started being sympathetic to goverment officials and views people started abandoning it and switching to Arise because what the average tv viewer wants to watch is officials being taken to task, being exposed and government policies being scrutinized, rather than officials and policies being celebrated when they spill out mundane achievements or Propaganda.
I would for example rather not watch TV than watch what Channels now ditch out,if Rufai Oseni is chunked off Arise Tv
