Tension as Truckloads of Fulani Herders Allegedly Arrive Kwara Border for INEC Registration Reports from remote communities in Kwara State’s Kaiama and Baruten local government areas have sparked alarm, as residents claim that truckloads of Fulani herders from various parts of Nigeria—and possibly beyond—are being brought to INEC registration centres for voter enrolment. Locals describe the movement as massive and unprecedented, raising concerns about potential political manipulation and security risks in these border communities. Both Kaiama and Baruten, predominantly Batonu-speaking areas, share a porous boundary with the Republic of Benin, making cross-border movements difficult to monitor. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently commenced its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. Online pre-registration began on August 18, 2025, while in-person registration at local government offices and designated centres started on August 25, 2025. The exercise is scheduled to run until August 30, 2026. Video footage shared by Sahara Reporter on X has already sparked widespread reactions, with many expressing concern over the scale of the mobilisation. Residents and online users continue to watch developments closely and share their thoughts in the comments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDTTJia8-Mc?si=Yjn4L0YIrBleEt3_

They stay fixated on issues of Abia, Alex Otti and Southeast, and in telling Anioma people to deny their Igbo heritage while their kith and kin are being slaughtered like chickens in Kwara. It’s most troubling that the monikers whose voices are usually the highest whenever a trailer fails break at Ugwu Onyeama in Enugu usually disappear whenever there’s report of ethnic cleansing in Kwara. I’ve never seen a people like this. God forbid I or my tribe will ever become this self-sabotaging for whatever reason at all. Fiakwa! |

This is Systematic invasion using politics. They will be registered as indigenes after the registration. After their successful registration their attacks in Kwara so as to displace and replace original indigenes will increase and be disturbing. What happened in plateau, kaduna and Benue will be a child’s play compared to what will happen in Kwara if nothing is done to kick them out now. |

/ Some Nigerians japa abroad to earn better. The Nigerians in Nigeria will sometimes mock them that they are slaves in foreign land. ![]() It may seem that "free" people in Nigeria are worse than the "slaves" abroad that they love to hate. Slavery in Nigeria? They provide their own security, water, healthcare. They drive on bad roads. Government only exists on paper. Slaves in plantation in the era of slavery fared a lot better than Nigerians now. In their very presence, their votes are being manipulated and they can't do squat. The only solution for them is incessant prayers and fasting hoping for miracles because help appears divine. So what advice can one really give to people in such condition and delude themselves that they are living when infact they are only existing? / |

Yankee101:Pls stop involving Tinubu in this. Everybody know Fulani has be doing this moving around since IBB era unnoticed or ignored so its not a new thing at all bro. If any state or community see such exodus of Fulani and they don't want them they should simply send them back that is it. Sincerely Fulani herds are not a good neighbour. |
