I have a story to tell about a tortoise. This Tortoise, though small and slow, was the cleverest and the most greedy creature in the whole land. He wasn't happy just owning all the finest and even controlling the major city in his community with his pawns in key areas; he wanted to own your very breath! The name of this tortoise is Iroko. Iroko looked at the poor farmers and market women and said, "You all look too happy! I think you should give me a new, heavier tax!" So he made the government start over-taxing every single person, even on the smallest things they bought. His most famous big trick, though, was the one he played with Petrol. He had earlier made his predecessors the Minister of Petrol in the animal kingdom because he had plans of chairing that seat someday so it won't look new when he came. Listen closely: The Tortoise's own community has the biggest pond of petrol in the whole village! But he stands up and says, "Oh, my people, we must import this fuel from far away because we don't have enough!" Yet, the truth, whispered by the wind, is that he has a big, secret factory—a refinery—in a place called Maltarata. Let's call it Malta for short. The wicked Tortoise takes the petrol from his community's pond at a very, very cheap price, sends it to his own factory in Malta, cleans it up, and then sells it back to the community at a very high price! He then snatched the fuel money—the Subsidy—away, claiming the cost was too much for the village to bear. The cost of everything shot to the moon! He promised to show everyone the big pile of money he saved, but that money has simply disappeared, leaving no accountability at all. Should we blame the rat? Or the pigs? Where are the cows? Just like the many whispers about his own great wealth, which has no honest beginning, only old tales of corruption and big money bags forfeited in a foreign court long ago. And when it was time for the whole land to pick a new ruler, the Tortoise, using his long, clever neck, worked a kind of rigging so smart it was foolish, ensuring his own children and friends got the best roles? The villagers demanded for accountability. But he asked them if they will eat statistics..."na statistics we go chop?" And since then, nothing happened to the tortoise. Every good thing that could ever happen went into oblivion because Lucifer was cast into the earth. What did you learn from this tales by moonlight?

Let me tell you, even if Jesus Christ comes down to govern Nigeria, things will still not work. Obasanjo was the first person to make that observation. As you are bringing one solution, 2000 new problems are springing up in different direction. The root of Nigeria’s problems is entrenched from here to Kilimanjaro. |

They love the subsidy corruption that they don't care if the nation is dead from it. Meanwhile, the stupid lies of the refineries working is still being brought to the fore. |

Saturnalia:Just like one of my lecturer said many years ago. He said wonderful policies that work wonderfully well in other countries begin to fail from the first day it's implemented in Nigeria and he asked us why is that so? Till today I have never forgotten that question because it's still happening many years after he asked us the question. If you take all the citizens of America and drop them here and take Nigerians to America, within a few years Nigeria will become the new America and America will degrade back to Nigeria. That's the way it is. We are a very complicated bunch of humans ever created by God. |

Nigeria would save 9 billion dollars worth of forex which will take 9 billions dollars worth of pressure of the weak Naira if the govt will stop its cronies from importing petrol .... These are some of the self centered actions that greatly weakened the Naira ..they rushed to remove subsidy so they could protect the profits of these importers |

Dangote's 650,000 barrels per day * 365 days= 237.25 million barrels* 73 (for petrol)= 17.32 billion liters . If demand is 35,000,000 daily = 12.78 billion liters yearly, it is more than it. If 21 billion is supply for 14 1/3 months, then the annual supply should be 21.68/ 14 1/3 *12 = 18.16 barrels. If we add the output from the modular refineries it should support the 17.32 Dangote produces to beat the yearly supply. So we need not import unless when necessary but allow the refinery function at full capacity, and baba is even looking at taking it to 1.4mbpd soon. LaIabobo:Yes it's 73. Thank you. Was updating my calculations. |

WhizdomXX:just one barrel of crude oil can produce 72 litres of petrol, 48 litres of diesel and 20 litres of kerosene. Nigeria needs around 35million litres of petrol daily. Do the maths. Even if we import it should be minimal. |

Clearly. Nobody read the article! It shows that there's a steady decline in importation and steady increase in local production. So the country has become a net exporter of the product. It's all positive! |

It was noted that imports began to decline steadily, falling to 24.15 million litres per day by January 2025, 19.26 million litres per day in September 2025, and 15.11 million litres per day within the first 10 days of October 2025. |

Fellow compatriots, you all can now attest to the fact as to why the cabals in the petroleum industry are consistently and constantly fighting with the Dangote Refinery due to their unimaginable unpatriotism and unbridled selfishness in order to continue with the status quo. For decades, they held hapless Nigerians by the jugular, indifferent to their plight and sufferings as they continued to import fuel while maintaining the subsidy regime. The emergence of the Dangote Refinery was therefore a terrible blow to their insatiable greed and had vowed to resist the multi-billion dollar company. With the cabals, little wonder why all of Nigeria's 4 refineries have never worked as they continued to sabotage operations despite humongous sums spent on several turn around maintenances. These are the same people who falsely accuse Dangote of being a "monopolist" whereas they are the real economic saboteurs. The FG must put its foot down in order to checkmate these criminals in the petroleum industry if Nigeria is to move forward. Self-sufficiency in domestic production is capable of bringing down prices of not just petroleum products but also the price of goods and services in the country. It could also lead to a gradual shoring up the value of our currency - the Naira. PENGASSAN and her affiliates are the faces of the cabals in the petroleum industry through which they continue to milk our scare resources dry. @hotseat |
