We would have met Spain in the quarterfinal, and who knows, the same Spain we beat in 1998

Okocha was a delight, I think what annoys people the most about him is when he balloons the ball and starts smiling, grin That thing dey pain sha I no go lie.

I think the catch of the '94 team was the completeness from defence to attack, including the bench; it was a very lucky team.

Kanu was from the U-17 World Cup-winning team of 1993 with teammates like Oruma and Babayaro. There was no one they could bench in the '94 team. In fact, many believe Okocha is the reason we never get to see much of Oruma in the Eagles
We would have defeated Spain. Spain only became a force from 2006.

Yes. Jay Jay made Oruma almost irrelevant. And the thing is that he was always available so no space for Oruma like that.

Lol. Me I didn't start watching ball until around the time I entered university circa 2009. I used to follow my coursemates to the cafeteria to watch ball, that's how I started getting into the game. I started watching Super Eagles with focused attention from the 2010 World Cup and 2013 AFCON. 😁
Exactly, na random matches here and there. Some of the matches from my earliest memories I was pleasantly surprised to see it was 2005 U20. That's where I caught bad belle for Messi until 2022 WC 😂

I started to watch with understanding at 2008 Olympics. To my age group, I used to sound ancient until I entered this thread.

Denmark demolished us. Eber Sand was substituted and with his first touch, he scored. Went to school the next day, rumor spread that fifa was going to replay the match. We believed it. We had to because we needed that illusion to staunch our bleeding hearts.

bros, he dey pain me like say I watch the live match 2 hours ago...

See as I shout when Yekini loose guard that chance... Damn...

But the person wey Okocha no dribble for that field dey bench. That guy is a maverick. Slick, confident. Oboy, una enjoy wella, una wey watch prime Okocha. And the 5th ranked team in the world.

No be all these ones wey dey draw 5 matches in 9 games. Drawing Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

For instance, if we had beaten Italy, who we likely to meet... Damn.

Can we ever get to that level.
One more thing, is Kanu not in that team??
Kanu was not in the team. I cried my eyes out that night. I was so pained. Westerhorf kept Yekini in the field even when everyone knew that Italy has kept him quiet. The other two in Amotaxi and Amunike was also injured. Guess who replaced them. Adepoju and Oliha. Madness. Prince of Monaco was in the bench. Siasia was in the Bench. It was so painful. Even the salad that was served to Yekini by Emenalo, he couldn't sort out whether to use his head or his leg until the Italians collected the ball. Still westerhorf kept him in the game. Na Coach killed that game big time. Siasia and Ikpeba didn't enter the game till the end. It was so funny that Okocha will be with the ball, the opponent will be following Yekini to the extent that costarcuta have to pull him down when he wants to power himself to the goalpost. No one will want to go near Okocha because he will feinght you to the other side. I keep imagining having Siasia to replace Amokachi and Ikpeba to replace Amunike in that game.

Wow, I watched that Okocha clip...

Damn, baba dey gba balluuu...

See as dem dey comot for road. Damn...

Okocha na baller.

And why did Yekini not score that ball shocked see as I shout 🙆🙆 (something of 1994, na how he dey pain me like mad) I trust Osimhen.

Imagine, Italy got to the finals.
Another person we beat enter semi final...

Oboy, we Bleep up. We miss better opportunity.

Imagine we got to that final, the trickle effect to this day self will be maaaad.

South Africa hosting the world cup in 2010 is the direct result of their improved fortunes till now...

I wonder how people will feel that day Italy beat us.
As a child I became sick for some days. That Baggio goal was very painful. We could have reached the final or carry the cup.

Another near miss that pained me was that Suarez goal-line handball in 2010 and the eventual penalty miss.

Sometimes teams tick off slowly. I think Bulgaria qualified as best losers from our group. They went all the way to the semis. Remember in 06, France struggled to get out of their group but eventually got their grove in the second round.

Your favorite 2013 set too na higgedly piggedly dem take enter second round but their engine roared into life in the game against CIV. Thereafter na cruise dem cruise till they won the tournament.

So it's not necessarily that a team is poor. Sometimes they don't gell quickly or tactical set may be a hindrance.
Bulgaria was an excellent team, remember our group was one of the toughest with Argentina so our beating Bulgaria 3-0 with the likes stoichov, balakov, and all the other kovs was a shock to many so they coming third was a just a reflection of the group as all three countries had 6 points each with us topping the group by just goal difference. Bulgaria also beat Argentina we lost to confirming how strong they were. Compared to Italy who only got 4 points in fact all the teams in the group all had 4 points with Italy scrapping through on goal difference. I watched the games in that group. The Italians were just lucky getting out of the group stage. For me they weren’t that inspiring even after eliminating us. Na experience carry them all through. The same score line they beat Spain and Bulgaria to get to the final. If they met more experienced sides they would have been eliminated much earlier.

Argentina placed 3rd in our group not Bulgaria as we all ended on 6pts but we had +4 goal difference while Argentina and Bulgaria had +3goal difference and Argentina lost 2-0 to Bulgaria in their 3rd group match.

That should be a goal. Even the commentator said it. How many chances does he need.

Osimhen is an amazing player but his 1v1 finishing needs work.

Moses Simon vs Chidozie Awaziem in Ligue 1.
Both start as Paris FC (Mos) take on Nantes (Chid).

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro starts for Pisa away at AC Milan in Serie A.
Why are they not inviting this Akinsanmiro ? He plays consistently very well in Seria A

Monkey dey work baboo dey chop grin
Is his agent here because grin
Fredericks do all the work so he go come chop bench
We still have WC playoff next month
Jump one hurdle first
Sadly, Ola Aina may miss his teammates winning Afcon list
Awoniyi and the others need to fight in their clubs now so that they can make the Afcon winning list
Some people think Morocco gonna win it, I don’t think so because Morocco will only do well against Europeans that love to play possession football
