I wasn’t quite sure which section to post this in, but I’d like it to reach as many people as possible. From my experience, MTN’s 5G doesn’t seem like real 5G. For the past month, I’ve had trouble opening certain websites yet I can easily stream videos on YouTube and Netflix without issues. I even reached out to one of the sites for help and was advised to clear my cache, cookies, etc., but nothing worked. Out of curiosity, I switched to another network (4G), and just like that, all the websites opened instantly. I’m wondering if I’m the only one facing this. If you’ve also been struggling to open some sites while using MTN’s 5G, try switching to another network and see if it helps. What has your experience been with MTN’s 5G? |

MTN network uses dynamic IP. The IP address changes every minute. Some website security will interpret it as bots. Next time just use a VPN, you will be fine with MTN. It's has nothing to do with 5g. |

Maybe the specific website has blacklisted MTN IPs. I have same issue on Airtel. I can browse all websites on my Airtel including GitHub.com but I cannot download any android studio app hosted on GitHub pages as long as it is Airtel. But if I switch to MTN it downloads. Either the ISP blocks that website IP or the website is blocking the ISP public IP. Like someone said a VPN will help. Your best bet is to download tor VPN /onion browser. As someone also mentioned earlier,4G not yet everywhere. Same with 5G. You have to be sure the 5G showing in your device is not fake by testing the 5G speed using speed testing website. 5G should be able to give you 1GB per second download speed. Anything less than that is fake. So MTN may have renamed 4G network in your area to 5G without upgrading the devices. |

HawkTuahGirl:I can relate with what the Op posted. DrAda:I have the 5G router as well, there's 5G reception in my area but I had to switch the network settings to 4G only because of same reasons you posted. Some sites were slow on MTN 5G network but ok on MTN 4G network
