Please I have some questions to ask from my bosses here.

Is it compulsory to use reference details of person who reside in Germany when filling the details?

Also, what is the best thing to fill in the spaces that has the following questions?

Do you intend to retain your permanent residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany?

Do you have health insurance (for a longer stay) for the Federal Republic of Germany?

Intended place of stay in the Federal Republic of Germany (Street, house number, postal code, town/city)

How will you be accommodated - Single room / apartment

Intended length of stay- from (date) - to (date)

I'm confused since the date of arrival is unknown, how can one fill a correct date?
1. You must use a German resident as a reference person. Nigerian residents cannot be your reference person, but anyone in Germany, as long as their status is legal may act as your reference.

2. You are relocating to Germany, so you do not intend to retain a permanent residence outside Germany. Only short term visa can say "yes" but in this case, the answer should be no (please feel free to double-check this information).

3. You need to have a place where you plan to be accommodated and supply the details, even if it's just a hotel or something...

4. Intended length of stay is 1 year, so give an estimated date based on how soon you think you'll leave... For instance, you can calculate a date in 2026 June to June 2027, to make one year, cos waiting period, appointment, visa collection would gulp over 6 months...

Please does anyone know what month they are in terms of preliminary review and appointment date?

Please will my laminated waec certificate, school leaving certificate/testimonial be accepted during interview?

If no, please advice.
Please, don't be too hard on yourself. I had my interview last week. My WAEC and one other document was laminated but the VO did not frown or make any negative remarks.

Although there has been speculations on the need for one not to laminate their documents, which I see the wrongs also. But for the ones you did in time past, it is assumed that you were not aware. Moving forward, do not laminate again and don't try to pill the one's that stick permanently, it wouldn't remove, rather it will ruin the certificate.

In summary, German Consulate does not frown at laminated documents. All the best in your endeavours.

Thank you
Please should the laminated certificates be taken alongside the supplementary copy during the interview?
cyberbro:
As a rule, they don't accept laminated certificates. So try to remove it from the laminates or get a supplementary copy.

Follow Jiggernappy's advice above 👆🏽 and go with your laminated copy since he had a similar case without any bad experience, but you might have to contend with Mr. Paulinus cos that one likes to scare people unnecessarily... LOL

Either ways, if you have a supplementary copy, yes please take all along with you, but as Jigger said above, nothing to be scared about. I just gave you the official information cos laminated certificates are generally discouraged at the German embassy. So good luck.

Hey guys, does anyone know what they usually expect in a lost degree certificate case? I only have a photocopy with a certified true copy stamp from the institution as they don’t reissue certificates twice. What should I expect in this situation?

retain permanent residency outside Germany: now that's a tricky one, my response was yes, cos I aint bout to give up my residence for a place I am not sure of
answered yes for health insurance, but I purchased it after I picked an interview date.
I used the city I intended to stay in + a random postcode in same city
For the dates, just choose a close estimate to when you can actually go if you get the visa.

Hello all, someone gave us a breakdown of how his/her interview went sometimes last week where he/she had to email the Consulate twice I think for some reasons. I can't seem to find the post again, would have quoted it. My reason for looking for the post is to ask the person what email address he/she used when writing them. I need to write them urgently.

For this one, did you enter your current address where you live? OR your permanent address (I mean your village)?

Hi Guys, for this one, purpose of stay in Germany is employment, right?

I intend to stay in Germany for no longer than twelve months and apply for a visa valid for the entire period of my stay:

And am I expected to check the above option (YES)?

Hello Sid57,

About the purchase ''self addressed envelope from dhl or ups''.

Did you make the purchase at the interview Office or directly through the courier's office.
