However, the Ooni was made to speak first , before the Alaafin.
This has been playing out on most occasions that both parties are present.
Ooni is always recognized to speak for the Yoruba race.
Thank God that Pa Adebutu settled both of them at his 90th birthday. I hope it ends there.

There was a mild drama at the 90th birthday of Baba Ijebu yesterday between the Alaafin of Oyo and The Ooni of Ife.

It seems both of them have beef with each other as the Ooni of Ife passed the microphone to the Alaafin of Oyo with his left hand.

In response the Alaafin instructed his aide to wrap the mic with handkerchief before receiving it.

I don't know the cause of their quarrel but I think such displays should be discouraged.

We have problem and the problem is bad leadership not tribalism.
An Ekiti men has been ruling Ekiti, why they embezzling instead of repairing and developing their state. Same goes to sokoto, ebonyi, edo etc
The earlier Nigeria leave all these tribal bigotry and start facing the real issue, that is when Nigeria will start seeing changes.
And i am sorry, dividing Nigeria will only create fragmented countries of same Nigeria issue

Pity, though, is you think "things are like that" when things shouldn't be like that. If two Yoruba towns formed by supposed relatives are killing each other, I can just about imagine how we'd behave towards the non-yorubas in our communities.
