Inflation rate should tell you this administration' policies are not working at all and they should be scored in the negative. Most Nigerians are struggling and can't afford their basic needs.

Where were you? You're not aware that they fell out with Yaradua because of many things he did. They also fell out with Jonathan

happney65:
Baba did not control Yar'adua too. He just wanted an honest and sincere Man and he got it in the brother of his late best friend the elder Yar'adua

If Obasanjo did,he would have stopped Yar'adua from cancelling the sale of the refineries which Obasanjo did when he was about leaving

Don't tell me you used another handle just to continue the discussion? Inflation was the expected result of removal of the subsidies on petrol and fx. The economy has stabilized and is gaining great. Ask the companies, businesses and investors. It will trickle down.

He recommended giving power to a northerner that he didn't know much about, it took him several years later to finally realize the personality of the person he recommended embarassed. This is how these people keep handing over power to northerners, they will later blame other ethnic groups when the person they recommended start putting pepper in their eyes. Atiku that they kept clamouring for would have also been a great destruction to them if he had won, but thank God he never won. Nigeria needs a brand new political class, not this existing one, irrespective of political parties embarassed embarassed
The guy below don tell you the obvious truth
saintmm:
You made the right point.
This is the reason I don't engage in tribalism discussions. Our elites are one irrespective of tribes and religion. They only sell the narratives that suit them at that time to us to keep us busy or whip up our sympathy.
The major tribes are complete in the cycle of rub my back and I rub yours.
Many of their deep alliances are scanty in public spaces and those goes along way in their strategizing.

It is well with Nigeria

Apt. He passed up on Elrufai after losing out on 3rd term agenda and imposed a sick Yaradua and a pliable Jonathan on Nigerians to rule by proxy. Only to resort to letter writing when Jonathan dared to be his own man. Despite all his excesses, Obasanjo remains the most detribalized Nigerian till date and assembled a cabinet that no single President has matched till date. In hindsight, his quest for third term may not have been bad afterall but we will never know.
Your analysis is very true. You are a sincere analyst

Why do you need to control your successor. Two persons don't see things thesame way all the time. Sometimes you have different opinions about a situation, hence the reason why a person can't be controlling the other everytime

Obasanjo has his faults...

But he one of Nigeria's best in terms of leadership. He understands the Nigerian political terrain and challenges.

El rufia seems not to have still fully matured till date. Could be stunted growth... literally and figuratively!
Why
Lol
Did el rufai steal your wife huh

If you ever enter partisan politics in Nigeria you will understand the reason why you need to be able to exert some control on your successor except if you plan to leave office and retire permanently from partisan politics

The most overated politician in the nation. The APC "change" tsunami that year really blew many fellows who wouldn't win a chairmanship seat into government house.a typical example is rufai.
Now u are not in power, win critical positions for ur party, lets see serving governors defect with u because de trust ur political ideology. If ur son can not defect with u, why are u ranting?
I think obi deserves his flowers for pulling those votes Without anyone's influence. Just him and his youths. The likes of Elrufai were making fun of him, today they are in a party that has no even local government chairman. Forget rigging, those clowns won't win a single state outside the north

Ditto. You're only partially correct yourself. Chidoka was 34 and Elrufai was 43 but Chidoka was the one who recommended Elrufai to Obasanjo. Not vice versa.
Read the article well again and slowly.

Chidoka could not have introduced Elrufai to Obasanjo. Impossible.
Atiku was the one that brought Elrufai to Obasanjo.

Elrufai introduced Chidoka to Obasanjo, when Chidoka became close to OBJ and when OBJ was about rounding up as president...Chidoka muted the idea of Elrufai replacing him (OBJ) as president which OBJ dismissed cos he felt Elrufai was not matured yet to be President.

Without any formal training our politicians are stealing this big and unleash raw violence during elections.
Imagine some of them having formal training in political sabotage and brigandage , the carnage and robbery would have been fantastically fantastic
Re: I Rejected El-rufai As My Successor – Obasanjo by lot14: 2:52pm On Oct 25, 2025
He compensated the yardua family because senior yardua was a friend and 2nd in command when he was President...Moreso, he chose yardua to spite and ridicule Atiku and co who weren't loyal to him then.

quote author=badoh post=137237180]Lamba from Baba again. Baba weh deh look for someone who is weak and can easily be controlled and Yaradua was a perfect fit for that hence he settled for him. Baba no say El-rufai can't be controlled like that, reason why he did not back him.[/quote]

Don't bring Wike close to El Rufai when it comes to performance pls, let's forget about the fact that El Rufai is tribalistic but performance wise he was very active both as Minister and Governor, Wike can't match him in that
Which of the Wike and which FCT?
Do you realize FCT doesn't start and end at AMAC?

After publicly begging him on stage to work with him. A costly mistake that only time will prove it to be, and
time is a gentleman.

Obasanjo did work with him though, first as DG BPE and then as Minister of the FCT. 20 years later, Elrufai remains in the conversation as the best FCT Minister Nigeria has ever had. Say what you will, you can't fault his competence.
I suspect that this handle is either ATIKU or EL RUFAI

We don't switch account in this zone, we say it as it is without fear, not lie to get paid in the face of the truth. Ask 200million Nigerians If things are easy?
