I really like that Chelle talked about identity & philosophy of Nigerian football. Things like that make thing Eguavoen is a figurehead Technical Director.

Chelle also mentioned his formations 442, 451, 532.

The screenshot below is exactly what I was expecting Chelle's thoughts of the Benin game to be
I just pray he keeps churning out good results

Uche Christanthus should not be starting ahead of Ndidi, Alhassan or Onyeka until we see him play that role over and over.
Forget it. In the interview, Chelle spoke effusively that Ndidi understands the 4-4-2 formation.

The others can only fight. Ndidi got it.

I don’t know y ppu just like to turn a blind eye to something so obvious….peeps here will be putting out first eleven wout ndidi

I Dey always tell dem ,any line up wout ndidi na wash ,u heard d part where chelle said he took his time to explain via video sessions to ndidi aw he wants him to play the role and he’s now getting it ..he also used dt analogy to quash fans hope of cin deir players favourite for now ,saying it would be hard drafting new players to the team except for one or two

Chello is hotheaded .... you cant talk about his player anyhow , or fight them, he can enter the pitch to fight for them .... that is the mentality that i want to see ... it means he will also not take nonsense from his players , he will bench who his not giving him the fighting spirit .. we need this kind of coach . i think he will do well if he practice what he preached
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:54pm On Oct 25, 2025
Coaches can be wrong. He uses Ndidi yet Ndidi still cant shoot when close to the box. He prefers Ndidi yet Ndidi cant lines break vertically with searching balls.

Pls Chelle can say whatever he likes. But I go with what I see the team execute on the field of play. Ndidi is not the best we have to execute any formation. Chikena.

The reality is Chelle prefers him. And preference doesnt always translate to Best option.

This Michael Kayode that just won player of the match va Liverpool, is he available to play for us? The guy is a real baller. We need him in our team

He has only played U-21 for Italy

If only Italy was not in the picture, Michael Kayode will easily walk into the Super Eagles XI right now in Aina's absence. It is well.

Since 2022, I spoke about this lad. But here we are... Italy will likely cap him with time.

TheSuperNerd:
Naija Talents Watch: Michael Kayode, 17

Michael Kayode, born July 10 2004, is a Fullback talent in the Fiorentina Youth Setup. Majorly a left back but he is right footed and can also play as a RB. Idolises Cafu

My Italian source(s) quote an Italian youth teamer who knows Kayode saying he commands a potential similar to the ceiling of Wilfried Gnonto of Italy. That is some interesting comparison.

Born in Italy to Nigerian parents.

Another one to be on the lookout for.

21/22 stats:

Primavera1 - 27 games, 1 assist

Coppa Primavera - 4 games, 1 assist (Led his side to a cup win defeating Atalanta U19 in the final 1-0. Featured from the right in the final).

Viareggio Cup - 2 games, 1 assist.

True.

He also committed the error that led to Benin's first goal in our 1 - 2 loss in the WCQ.

I think because of our frailties in defence and their being prone to errors (Ekong, Bassey, Osayi, Zaidu) , it's best we play a 3-man defence like JP did at the AFCON

Nooo naa... I believe the Chelle Interview watchers also mentioned Chelle saying they have over 500 players in their database that they watch but this same database never highlight the need to approach or check on Kayode abi?

See ehn, when I hear these talks. I laugh. If we are truly actively monitoring more lads like our NT coach claims, then we will see the results of such. Morocco is an example of a NT that actively monitors their pool of talents scattered globally.

The 500 players talk na sham. Rohr said something similar. I am confident no one in the NFF or NT monitors our Nigerian talents as much as I do and as much as this thread does generally. Make Chelle dey talk... Na for pitch, I dey use measure am.

I read after Chelle’s appointment that because of the precarious position of the team in the World Cup qualifiers group that he isn’t going to experiment much by testing many players but that such will happen once the qualifier series are over

I believe if he remains in the job that he will surely reach out to some players eligible to us

I hope so. Because he has been in the job since January 7th. He is 10months+ now on the Super Eagles job. More than enough time to have gathered info on more talents that can boost the team in the here and now while keeping tabs on others for a look-in with time.
Enough time to know we need an Aina Backup for instance.

To be honest, some bit of luck played a part in Benjamin Frederick coming into the Super Eagles. If the Super Eagles had not gone to Brentford, London for the Unity Cup, Frederick (then based in Brentford, London) would not have made the team. Providence just made it so and Frederick ceased the opportunity to show the NT coaches what some of us already knew.

See ehn, Morocco no dey waste time. But us, we go still dey talk say we get database and are monitoring. Abegi. Anyway, time will tell.

The technical dept of the NFF led by Austine Eguaovoen as Technical director have got to be quite a bunch to have never tried initiating a move on Kayode since we mentioned him here since 2022. My italian friend told me about this lad and I quickly got the dossier needed and dropped it here on NL first. But as usual naa... the people with the actual job of handling the technical side of our football sleep. They dont research. They dont monitor.

And it is not just Michael Kayode. There are couple more. Smh. I will keep doing what I do for the love of the game and Nigerian football but it is a shame that what is a hobby for one is not taken seriously by those with the actual job.

Its so annoying seeing how lazy the Tech Department of the NFF is. I hear we are now on the verge of losing Edna Imade to Spain. This girl that should have been capped years ago. Now back to the Super Eagles how come nobody is scouting the English Championship for payers? We are so obsessed with the prem but the Sky Championship has a lot of Nigerians who are willing to wear the GWG without any fuss and can help the teams depth. Guys like Arthur Okonkwo and Ryan Alebiosu given our struggles in Goalkeeper and Right back. We are so passive while the likes of Morocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Algeria etc actively recruit dual nationals.
